Indeed, interesting... The free trial is a no brainer and the second and third option depends where are you are in brewing. Thanks for the information David it's always nice and informative video from you😊
I bought the pro version and find it very illuminating when comparing the different ways to change aroma. It covers bitterness and aroma but not flavour. Maybe there are technical reasons for that or i am just ignorant. When using, it would have been nice to use sliders on the hop boil times and quantity of hops with a real time update to the chart instead of pressing the calculate button. A print out button would have been handy too. It certainly has opened my eyes to what is possible. It would be interestng to see their ideas for the future as there is so much scope there. In all a great purchase
Hi Jim, I am glad that you are happy with Hop control. Aroma is strongly linked to flavour. If you look at a hop producers website hops are reported in terms of aroma and bitterness rather than just flavour. If you have Hop control suggestions for features then do let them know directly as they are keen to support their user base 🍻🍻🍻
hi ! seems good but for the IBU calculation, I don't know how they do without asking the temperature of the whirlpool. And for the dry hop, maximum utilization is reached at 4 hours. I don't think so...
Beer Maverick have been my preferd tool tool when it comes to hops. This is very similar , and I cant help wondering where they got their inspiration? Il give it a go, looks great 👌
First, thanks for the Beer Maverick suggestion. Searched and found it and looked for pricing, membership options, take my money stuff and nothing! Second, you got a heart with no reply to your question probably because the sites are so different in the way information is portrayed and a reply would be a pro/con nightmare. But it's people like you asking questions like you did that keep me looking at video comments because I never heard of Beer Maverick before so a thumbs up to you. Oh and he already answered this below.
@kindavacant7843 I agree it is important to be aware of all the options. This question has been answered various times though within the comments section and the features of hop control are explained in this video too. 🍻🍻🍻
Good morning. Is co-humulone the only compound the app calculates? Linalool for example? Sorry, im being lazy. I will look at the app when i get a chance.
I am told by the developers that beer XML format support is coming to allow import from Brewfather and other platforms. Im not sure if that includes export though.
@@DavidHeathHomebrew I certainly will. The hops in my beers have been bugging me for years as the results were never quite what I expected. I used to live in Japan and ordered my hops from Yakima Valley but now that I live in France I can't do that anymore It's very difficult to find fresh hops at a decent price here and there is very little choice in terms of variety which in turn makes it almost imposssible to brew a lot of your recipes (I have stopped a long time ago wasting my time trying to re-invent the wheel...). Is there a vendor in Europe you would recommend? I hope I am not violating any group guidelines by asking.
@lucwolljung3858 Hi Luc, finding fresh hops is likely the issue. I almost always use pellets these days and enjoy the results. Its difficult to recommend a vendor as I only buy hops through the company I work for in Norway. Getting hops for me is more about chasing quality rather than price. I buy in 5kg bags mostly as I get through a lot of hops.
The SW looks really nice and full of features I'd really appreciate, but the database looks like it's totally off. I've checked a few random hops I know (Ekuanot, ElDorado, Harmonie, Saaz) and except for Saaz the values in the app were really different than those from the datasheets. Where did they get those data? Is it their own research or just mistakes? Also their database lacks quite a few hops often used here in Central Europe
@@DavidHeathHomebrew the flavour profiles are off compared to the producer's datasheet. A lot of hops are missing, e.g. what I used in last 2 batches - Saaz Shine, Country, Blues. I have just the trial licence but I suppose it has full functionality for the week, it wouldn't make any sense to showcase with missing and invalid data :)
Sorry but it ran out at the end of May. There are some free licences to be won as part of my 60k quiz, as well as lots of other items:- ruclips.net/video/dUUOmDdlnio/видео.htmlsi=jn_GBJ93JpaLuLCb
Promising software but missing “YCH survivables” type functionality on when best to use specific hops. Also if you add the “dynamic blend” information then you have something new and interesting. As is not seeing anything that I am going to pay for 😮
Hmm odd. Many are able to use it, ive heard that if you are using paypal then the discount appears on paypal after accepting. Please reach out to Hop Control and they can help you.
Ordered. As a software developer, I love looking at these new software tools for brewing and supporting the industry. Thanks for the discount!
Great to hear Brian, I am sure you will enjoy Hop Control.
Fascinating piece of software, looking forward to using it. Thanks for the discount code! Only $15 🍻
Yes for sure, you are very welcome 🍻🍻🍻
This software looks very useful, many thanks for the detailed information, awesome as always.
Many thanks Alan, much appreciated :)

Very intersting and useful software. Thanks for the info!
Great to hear, much appreciated Samantha 🍻🍻🍻
i for one hope u will keep posting your tried and tested recipes on brewfather :D
Yes of course. Hop control is not full recipe software like BF.

Fair points. Personally I rely on Brewfather for IBU calculations.
Beer Maverick have been my preferd tool tool when it comes to hops. This is very similar , and I cant help wondering where they got their inspiration? Il give it a go, looks great 👌
Yes, there are similarities, thats natural but Hop control has a larger database and more features.
@HOP_CONTROL 🍻🍻🍻
How does this differ from Beer Maverick?

Sorry, im being lazy. I will look at the app when i get a chance.
My video shows everything , which includes all the compounds, six in total 🍻🍻🍻
looks like a great tool!
Cheers David 🍻🍻🍻
About to order the Pro Version with some David Discount. Whats the chance of being able to export a complete recipie to Brewfather??
I am told by the developers that beer XML format support is coming to allow import from Brewfather and other platforms. Im not sure if that includes export though.
@HOP_CONTROL 🍻🍻🍻
What is that Hoppy Level that refers to a Machado equation? I have never heard this nor has google apparently.
Here is a link to a technical paper :- www.mdpi.com/2304-8158/10/6/1397
Ordered!
Enjoy 🍻🍻🍻

Which values do you believe are off?
Which hops do you feel are missing?
Which license do you have?

Seems like I can't use the Promo code? I insert it and the price is still the same.. anyone having the same issue?
Same for me, I’ll try again tomorrow

It's like a paid Beer Maverick... 😂
Shh or they'll make us pay for that too.
🍻🍻🍻
@HOP_CONTROL OK, thanks for the information. I'll check this out 😊
Strikes me as more of a hobbyist website, not a paid subscription service. Looks nicely done though.
🍻🍻🍻
oh look somebody has copied Beer Maverick and makes people pay for it. Shame on you for advertising this.
I think you should look further into this before making false judgements and accusations!! I go through it in this video in detail.
I think its clear that he jumped to false conclusions way too fast.
