Thank you for giving me hope! I've been so worried about being able to afford life when I'm older. I live frugally, so I know I could come in at your low end costs. I'm just worried that too many Americans will move there before I can retire and cause prices to jump high. I'm willing to consider a smaller city/town but would prefer Panama City.
Such a thorough, accurate and complete estimate analysis! I’ll definitely point folks that are looking to move to this beautiful city that we call home 🇵🇦 (GREAT JOB SIS) #WeAllNeedSomeHelp
@@Stephanie-007 thank you so much, Stephanie! I struggled with the best way to present this so I am glad to hear that you found it to be helpful. I am working on two more.
I heard that Panama was going to $1000 a month net as opposed to gross monthly when deciding if one can afford to live in Panama. Yes, the Pensionado visa is a great opportunity.
@@burtonknows9201 hmmm I am not sure about that one but it wouldn’t surprise me. The immigration requirements can change with each administration and even during their terms.
👏👏👏 Practical budget analysis indeed!👌 And I won't call names, but I happen to recognize someone in the cool snaps who's taking her medical checks. 😉 Awesome content as always. ✨
Yeah i have noticed the rents getting higher and higher in the city. If you don't want a car the city is where you want to be but the popular expat areas in the city are getting pricey!
If you were born in Panama, even if living elsewhere, you are entitled to pensionado benefits based on meeting the Panama retirement age. Pensionado benefits apply to Panamanians, who it was designed for, but extended to foreigners who meet Panama’s retirement age limits and financial requirements for foreigners. You never lose your Panamanian citizenship even if you’ve adopted a second one. Make sure to obtain a cédula based on your birth in Panama, through the Registro Civil, unless you already have one.
I have lived in Panama for 25 years. However I wouldn't live in Panama City. As a country Panama is a good choice but I don't like Panama City. It is very congested and not very attractive. It is also more expensive than the rest of the country. I live in Chiriqui near the border with Costa Rica.
It's more than possible to live a great life in Panama as long as you don't bring your North American wants/needs.
@@kennyroberts2703 that part!!! 👊🏽

Great analysis! Thanks! You really nailed it with "Rental rates vary due to market trends like an influx of Americans after a presidential election".

I’m 3 years from retiring at 62. Expecting about $4k a month in income plus my savings. This was great for me to start making moves. Thanks!
You won't have any problems with that budget if you live below/at your means.
@ thats the plan! But I don’t max out now so Im fine with that.
@@msnangiej you will have plenty here! Again, it all depends on your lifestyle but that amount can go a LONG way! Kudos!

This breakdown is amazing. Thank you so much for giving me a pretty true idea of what to expect.

The best time to lease a condo is in the "WET" Season which is after June.

I heard that rent can be negotiable. Is that true Aisha?
That’s what I heard too
@@cperry7804 it is absolutely TRUE and you should always try. 👊🏽 You are renting from the owner and not a management company for the building.
Money talks/the more that you're willing to pay upfront, the better rental rate you'll be able to get. Everything in Panama is negotiable.
@ very true! Thanks for helping with giving advice and answering questions! 👊🏽🥰🇵🇦
Ten years from retirement in Panama with investments and Social Security. I was born in Panama so I don’t think I qualify for the pensionado visa.
