Just made myself this in hdc...I live in a cold uk place lol...and did it thigh length and byyyy heck it's so snuggly so easy and im a seasoned crocheted but not for myself...til now....thank you its just lovely snuggly and perfect ❤
I made this in Hobbii Amigo Giga color 25 with 12 MM hook. I made xl and there is lots of room to wrap it around yourself if you are sz 12-14. I ended up adding 5 rows of hdc after a row of singles to the bottom for trim as I actually made the whole thing in hdc. It took 9 balls and turned out great for my first sweater project. Wish I could add a picture to show you but can't see how to do that. Thanks for the tips And pattern xo

With all your planning and preparation it sounds like you are READY! Your color choice sounds beautiful. I do hope you enjoy this project. Thank you so much for subscribing and for the kind words.
Would love to say Thank you, cause I'm not a knitter. I had a lot of people asking for this I had to turn them down but I found you and you have a new subscriber. Keep up the excellent work..❤️🙏🙏
You are very welcome! I'm not a knitter either. I'm so glad you will be able to use this pattern. It works up fast so you'll be able to churn them out quickly. Enjoy!
I'm so glad to hear you are going to make this! I would not recommend pockets if you are making this with the #6 yarn as strongly suggested. It is already a thicker cardigan. Adding pockets will make it look bulky. If you still want pockets, you can just make a smaller panel the size you prefer and follow the pattern. Then stitch onto the front panels with a yarn needle and yarn.
It’s lovely. Thank you for the pattern. I really appreciate your 😅tutorials. I just started on this one here and it’s a beautiful caramel chocolate in color. I’ll let you know how it turns out. 😅 happy holidays to you and yours. LJ
I used bernat softee chunky. It is a much lighter 6 yarn. I just finished the two front panels and I realize if I decide to continue it will definitely be a cropped cardigan. My bad though because I didn’t pay attention to the measurements, just the stitches and rows 😅 I knew there would some difference but ended up more drastic than I expected. Definitely pay attention to the measurements lol
Hi 👋 this inspired me to make a very similar cardigan. I used a different stitch and different yarn but mine looks very much like your. It’s one of my favorites. Thanks for your inspiration!
Your work is always amazing! Thank you for sharing! I did look at the blog, however I couldn’t see where it said how many yards to buy for the other sizes. Where can I find that please?
Hi I love this cardigan and I was going to try to make it as my first ever crochet project cos it looks so cool. I just wanted to ask (because I know absolutely nothing about crocheting) whether you can use a 15mm hook instead of a 16mm because I can only seem to buy 15mm online. Sorry if this is a dumb question
I'm so happy you want to try this as your first crochet project. While this is fairly simple pattern, I wouldn't call it a beginner project. I admire your confidence! Yes, you can use a 15 mm. I wouldn't go much smaller than that however. Enjoy!
I'm happy you want to make this. I would not use a #10 hook. That would be too small to achieve the correct stitch size and look. I hope you can find the 16 mm (15 might work too).
Hello, I loved this coat and would like to weave it. Could you tell us how many centimeters thick this yarn is, so I can buy an equivalent one. Thank you very much in advance.
I'm happy you like it! You can make it without the hood, however, you will need to adjust the back neck. It will likely be too wide without the hood. Add a row of sc's along the top of the front panels and around the neck. Sk a few stitches along the neck to shorten up the opening.
hey, can you tell me if i make the same hoodie for 1-2 years old baby then how much chains do i need? or can you make a tutorial on baby hoodies, please?
When making the hood..do you really need to make two panels and sew two sides? Wouldnt it be easier to make one longer panel, fold it over and only sew one seam?? 😮
Valid question. Honestly I don't remember why I did it in two panels. I'm thinking it was simply a matter of habit as most hoods are made with two panels in order to control the pointy tip that happens with one panel. However, I didn't do anything with this particular pattern to affect the point. The yarn is so thick it didn't make a difference. Let us know if you make this hood with one panel and if it made a difference.
@@CrazyCoolCrochet Thanks. I'm just a beginner, so I'm trying to learn. I guess it's like anything..diff ways to do it. As for the point it can still be managed either way I'd say. I have since seen a tutorial with it being done with just one panel. Let's hope I can do it that way. Thanks 🙏
I would like to make this for my granddaughter, she is 5”7 should I make the foundation longer and I believe her arm length is about 22 inches, I’m sorry for appearing dumb but I’m new at this and have never made anything like this before
First you absolutely do NOT appear dumb. You have very legitimate questions. While the design of this is on the shorter side, I might be inclined to add an inch or two to the foundation chain. That will result in a longer (not wider) jacket. My arm is 20 inches and I'm very petite. So again, feel free to add a little length to the sleeves. I hope this helps!
I would not recommend a #7 yarn for this. With the #6 the jacket is already quite thick and a bit heavy. A #7 would add quite a bit of bulk and turn out quite a bit larger. You can certainly try it if you already have #7 yarn and see how you like it. It works up really fast so trying a few rows won't take long at all. Good luck!
Hey! So I’ve made almost all the panels but I’m realizing it’s coming out like 3-4 inches smaller than yours 😅 … my size Q is a 15mm.. but I’m still using a size 6 yarn. It’s the bernat softee chunky. Any suggestions? Should I size up to the medium? I am going to frog and start over which sucks but it’s good that the panels work up so quickly I guess 🥲
I wanted to reply right away because you're working this now. So sorry you need to frog and start over. I would try the medium. And be sure you're using a super loose tension. That makes a huge difference as well. Let me know how it goes!
@@CrazyCoolCrochet okay! I’ll start the medium right now after frogging 😊 I kind of thought that from the beginning but still wanted it to be fitted ugh lol. I think it’ll still be that way since I’m using the smaller hook though. And yes… trying to tell myself to not be so tight 😂 thank you so much for always replying so quickly!
Hon, she said SUPER CHUNKY yarn size 6. This is different from a CHUNKY yarn size 5. I've given up on YT crochet except for a few old timers bc the vids are so poor its not worth your time.
There is no separate video for the different sizes. It is not possible to make a video for each size. The larger sizes are available to make from the pattern. www.etsy.com/listing/1339891756/crochet-chunky-cardigan-pattern-easy
According to the information in the description size small uses 64 ounces/560 yards. It's not adding up to me. How many skeins of yarn bee were used for the size small in the video?
Hobby Lobby seems to have discontinued that exact yarn. The closest I could find now is Yarn Bee Effortless which comes in 6 ounce skeins. Ten skeins sounds about right. Of course, I would have purchased the yarn on sale! I hope this helps.
Interesting question. Only you can answer whether or not you can do something. This design is meant to be crocheted, not knit or hand knit. If you watch the video and if you know how to hand-knit, then you should know whether you can do it. As for me...nope. LOL. Please let us know if you try it your way and how it turns out.

If you are unable to find or order a #6 super bulky yarn and you must use a #5, then the result will be a bit different. Just so you are aware. I hope you can figure it out so you can make this!

I accept your two cents. LOL. The hood can be made in one panel which is what I usually do. I wanted to do something different. Thank you for watching!
The reason didn't make sense? Maybe I didn't elaborate enough. Of course you can use a different size yarn, however you will NOT get the result that I was going for. The result that I designed. I wanted the stitch to resemble a knit look AND I wanted the overall design to be exaggerated (for lack of a better word). I wanted the stitches to be LARGE. I tried a #5 and I didn't get that result. I tried doubling a #4 and lost the look of the stitch. I even tried different #6's that didn't work; the yarn was too flimsy. I have seen others use a different size yarn and the result was something entirely different. It looks like any other cardigan rather than a thick, chunky, exaggerated stitch jacket. I hope the reason makes more sense now.
