    So happy to see someone talking about brush muffles!! I use them all the time and no one talks about them!

      Maybe because it becomes second nature after a certain amount of time.. (?) Playing bass, and guitar it's the same. It becomes second nature and you just incorporate it into your playing almost without even thinking about it..

    Have just finally got my first harp, and waiting for my teacher to get back from overseas tour … one thing I’ve noticed just messing around is how much work for good sound is needed on muffling as the instrument is so resonant easy to get unwanted tones ringing on. The other thing I was thinking about how best to muffle if playing a melodic line on bass strings. On upper strings the sustain often might be ok but lower strings gets muddy easily. This gives me some good ideas thanks :)
