love these old songs Doyle. you sure do play well. I wish I could play. I write songs as my hobby and I play enough. thanks for singing these old songs. i sure do love them turn your radio on. i remember my aunt dorothy singing "Only Believe"... billy ghram crusades. my church.
I've never commented on your channel because I watch your String-Along broadcasts on my television app. I got on the computer today to write this testimony of the effectiveness your Music Ministry sharing the Greatness of God! Last year I was in the darkest of places and times in my life and your heartfelt messages finally reached my hardened heart, my hard head and broken soul. Thank You Brother Doyle you helped me to come back where I belong; Thanking and Praising Jesus Our Savior and Our Holy Father for all the circumstances and people working in goodness for the Glory Of God! I am forever grateful. You and your family remain in my prayers. And oh how I love your guitar playing! I hear the Joy of the Lord when I hear you play!!!
Thanks so very much for your comment! That blesses me.
Thanks so much Doyle! That old gospel stuff reminds me of my dad, he played and wrote and sang country gospel songs.
As you shared about your encounter with Holy Spirit, I was reminded of Julian of Norwich, she had a precious encounter with Jesus not unlike what you describe. You had a mystical experience with our Lord. Thanks for sharing and for all you do 💜🙏
Only believe..thanks for sharing this song. .just praying for the faith for a miracle in my family..seems impossible from a human stand point..yet I know with God all things are possible 🙏
I’m in agreement with that!
Earliest childhood memory is my mother and father singing I’ll fly away at an old folks home with their traveling music ministry. Two part harmony. Thanks doyle for keeping the old time music alive. Doyle great spirit.
Hearing you play those old songs reminded me of a dear friend that went to heaven about five years ago. He had a wonderful singing voice and strummed old gospel songs on a an old Gibson J45.
All the songs had to be 3-chord songs because three chords was all he knew how to play. But, boy could he make music. I played bass with him at his house, sometimes, all night long. He'd start playing a song (many that I had never heard before) and ask "do you know that one?" I'd say "no, but you just keep your left hand where I can see it and I'll make it up as we go."
Thank you for reviving that memory. By the way, we all love that Porter Wagoner story.
Thanks my friend!
You always turn me on to great songs!
Those Martin's just sound so good.
Wow!!!! Doyle, what an inspiration with this message today. I received it and will be transmitting it to everyone I see today. Staying in tune with God is the goal!! Your message was the "tune up" I needed this morning 🙂❤️.
Wonderful!
Thank you for another wonderful String-Along. Thank you for the music and the message. And I love that D-45!
Wow. I love our ppaying. But this preaching is more wonderful.
I am in Manchester,Tennessee for a moment. We listened on our way from KCMO. On the way to Orman Beach.
Nothing like the good old songs on a grand guitar!
This may be my favorite String-Along so far. Wonderful Message and Music. Great singing too brother Doyle!
Doyle you have so much joy when singing it is just wonderful! You sing to the glory of our Savior and Lord. Love the old hymns you do select. A great balance of the more modern worship type and the well-respected older standard hymns. I also enjoy the secular tunes you have composed and do play too (and the others of course). I look forward to these Sunday String Along videos weekly. Many thanks. P.S. Loved that Travis guitar pat!
Thanks Linda… that old guitar makes me feel Merely !
Brother Doyle, thank you for your words today. St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus - the Jesuits - wrote, in his book Spiritual Exercises, a prayer called Suscipe, which is Latin for “receive.”
“Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty,
my memory, my understanding,
and my entire will,
All I have and call my own.
You have given all to me.
To you, Lord, I return it.
Everything is yours; do with it what you will.
Give me only your love and your grace, which is sufficient for me.”
You are in good company, brother. Amen.
Amen. He was a Godly minimalist. I dedicated all my guitars Him!! Thanks so much for ‘tuning in.’
The best acoustic guitar . Definitely is my best favourite guitar in Sunday string alone. Thanks Master
Wow, thanks!
Thanks Guitar Master😊
God Bless You Brother Doyle.
Happy Sunday! One of the greatest sacred songs of the 20th century Only Believe
Doyle, i have never seen anyone play fingerstyle as intricate and with as much tone and feeling as you. What a talented man! I studied classical for two years and that helped me play blues and other styles later in life using a thumb pick like yourself. You are an inspiration to me and many others! God bless you and thanks for these String alongs. It's my church now when i have my espresso in the morning! take care, tom in maine.
That’s so nice of you to say. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing all the great country gospel tunes. Touched my heart.
Good morning my brother… listened to the Grand ole Opry on a little transistor radio too when I was a kid! Love all these old songs…learned to play them in church when I was a kid… thank God you are a minister to musicians…Prayers for you and your family always!

Thank you!!!
Man it sure does the World good to hear those Martin’s in practice of the Golden Rule. Thanks 🙏🏻
The radio receives and then passes it on. And ... I loved hearing "I'll Fly Away"!
Thank you Doyle for sharing these timeless classic gospel songs written by Albert E. Brumley. Love hearing your stories of when you worked for Grandpa Jones. He was a funny man with a lot of talent. I’m blessed to have met Albert E. Brumley in 1974 at his annual all night sing in Springdale, Arkansas. I needed to hear these songs today and the words you shared. My dad went to Heaven 9 years ago today. I’m so thankful I’ll see him again. God bless you and your ministry and thank you for your Sunday Morning String Along!
God Bless You Billy!
You did it again, Doyle ... you and God... God Bless you and the wonderful work you do!
Good Sunday morning Doyle! God bless!! 🙏🙏

Enjoying your program this fine morning and praise God we need to lift him up Doyle'love I'll fly away I'm getting ready to go to church this morning I remember Albert e brumley he was a awesome writer
Now I've got something to learn next weekend.
Always amazing.
Thanks
I really enjoy these Sunday String al long videos. Having played flat pick all my life, I'm trying to learn the Travis picking style. I haven't been able to use a thumb pick yet. My favorite song was on another String a long , the song was What a Friend, brought back memories of my childhood at penticostal revival meetings. God bless you mr. Dykes. Love the Martin, picture a 5 year old boy learning the chords C F and G on a big ole D28 65 years ago.😂
Awesome Doyle! That pre-war D-45 is worth quite a bit these days, could buy a house with that lol
Again Doyle you have knocked out of the park but of course God’s leading can and will do that, I too listened to wan on my transistor radio that I still have , a 1956 -1957 a Coronado, Gambles brand and it still works you are right about receiving of which I struggle with but recently I was given a 70’s era pioneer receiver and speakers like we had in our early days and it still works and is complete except for the record player and one day I’ll find the right one and then I’ll be able to play our vinyl gospel albums. Btw I have gotten our old HisSong group songs on you tube if you are interested but don’t feel like you have to listen a lot of our music was written by group members, love you Doyle and we continue to pray for you and your family
When God Moves a Stone…. Excellent buddy!!
Of course we didn’t have the GOO in the UK but we had a country music radio program every Monday evening of BBC Radio 2. I had a radio cassette recorder and I would record the songs I liked and then learn to play them on my guitar. That was how I learnt so many gospel songs as well, including “I’ll Fly Away“ from a version by Charley Pride.
More than once now your message mirrors what I have just read in my Amplified Bible, just as your quotation from Acts this morning. I take that as something very important, similar to what you spoke of when musicians receive a song from the great transmitter in Heaven. Some people would call it synchronicity. I call it divine intervention. Does your lovely wife have to do all the dusting of all your collectables, lol 😂 Blessings
A great way to start this Sunday morning. Blessings friend!
You too!
Doyle , when those old radios are in between stations it makes us slow down gently turn the dial and listen for the voice… probably a song in there somewhere. .. as always thank you for the message. Dan
Thank you so much for your message today, what a blessing to share, and that I will do also.
Wonderful!
Don’t forget Grandpa was on the Old Dominion Barndance in Richmond, VA in the late 40s and early 50s. Thats where I met Ramona and played with Eloise at Sunshine Sue’s home near me.
👏👏👏👏Loved it!
Amen! Thank you Doyle for another wonderful message. ❤ Love how you wrap in a message around tubes, radios, guitars -- that's my other language, haha.
Thank you Doyle ! This is a wonderful message! The lord has blessed you and thank you god for blessing Doyle so that he spreads gods glory… thank you
I had a six transistor when I was a kid under my pillow I kept it hid
Sharing your music, wisdom & fun, Doyle! I sent this out on Twitter X. Thanks! 🙏🏻 😊
Great playing and great word brother Doyle.
Loved your program today and learned a lick or two as I seem to always do! Yes, your ministry to musicians is working, Thanks to the Lord and You! The E. Stanley Jones story about a Mother's Tear was special! BTW, I can fix that old radio to get the hum out of it, just ask Wayne Moss.
GREAT! I have a D45 too! Love it! Love the "character" of yours!! ;-)
Thanks Doyle!
Great job Doyle! AWSOME! I love it. Love the message!
Amen, thank you.
You are so welcome
Good morning Doyle. From BR, Louisiana on The mighty muddy !
Amen!
23:50 COOL... I love stuff too. I'll bet if you use a little tuner cleaner on those pots that old tube radio could still pick up Lum and Abner, or Fibber McGee and Molly 😎
Good morning! Great video!
Good morning DD.
great music and message love how you tied in old radios to receiving from the LORD JESUS , bless you indeed and alot!
Thank you so much!
Yeah! Glad to see and hear the D45! Nice Sunday String Along!
Happy Sunday
Great singing Doyle and of course great guitar playing as usual! Have a blessed day!
Pick it, son!
Good Morning... God Bless...!
Doyle, I'm sorry to keep asking you. But please add my brother Franklin Charles of Elkton, MD to your prayers agan. He is in the hospital today they tried to draw fluid from his lung and mostly blood came out. They have moved him into Intenvice Care Unit. He is not doing well. Agean please ask God to give him a mericale and let him live a few more years. Thank you for everything. God bless you and your channel.
You're the first person I've heard to having met Alfred E. Brumley. There's probably not a person who hasn't sang his 'Camp Meeting' songs, as they're listed in the old hymnals. BTW, the old D45 isn't quite as ornate as the modern ones?
(❤What you give away you get to keep) Luke 6:38
not to take anything from Mr Brumley, but I'll Fly Away was penned by a African American lady, i believe from Macon, Ga area. her grandaughter had a book of poetry written by her. i don't know about the music. don't know how or when Mr Brumley heard the song.
Doyle, what kind of capo were you using while you were playing “Turn Your Radio On”
I noticed you had it on and then flipped it off with your thumb so you could play in open E. I love it ! Thanks for these String Alongs… so good!
