Finally someone who sees the work on human quality as a path above all on the surface. Thank you for this real education, it’s so nourishing
Inn to hear a wise, generous person.
What a lovely human being! So glad that a friend told me about Linda Seger. Excited to read her books!
came here for screenwriting advice, but this is such good advice period! ...thanks for posting this.
Thank you, great to see you discover this video. We are fans of Linda and her work and proud to be able to share her wisdom.
Great information. Well spoken lady.
She speaks from the heart.
Ruurd Fenenga Thanks for taking the time to watch and for your feedback.
A great tip in Linda's book is about mirroring the opening image - at the end of the script. Eg) "Leon" - at the start we approach the city over the water of the bay. Then at the end - we leave the city flying over the waters of the bay,
Sounds like a plan, Lets go!
Linda is wise, generous, and insightful. Lovely interview.
Today, I purchased her book. I can’t wait to scrub down my script! Thank you for this FC Team!
Cheers!
I purchased her book “Making A Good Script Great (Second Edition)” years ago, and it has been a tremendous help, particularly in the area of rewriting. She cites “Witness” and other good films as examples. To hear her speak is an additional pleasure! A remarkable woman and fine teacher!
Off the topic: I’ve also been inspired by her spiritual journey, recounted in “Jesus Rode A Donkey.” It is the foundation of her ability to “nurture others,” as she describes.
She's so real! Love it!
Solid gold.
Yes thank you! I struggled with that. Now I see the world needs more people like us.
This is a beautiful soul
"There's a lot of people who will practice their own creativity on your work." It is hard not to let that happen, and hard, if someone asks for your help, not to do that. Thanks!
I read her book recently... good insights
Delightful interview with a lovely lady. So much more nuanced insights than the typical "this is the formula" line of thought. And lovely that she is so encouraging: I think all creatives need encouragement (the word's root gives us a clue: "courage" from the French word)...
Nice lady, nice interview, great advice. Thank you
José Pablo Arellano Thanks for visiting.
She appears to be a lovely person and her books on screenwriting are excellent.
What a wise person. Thank you.
Watching these videos, I feel like I’m at Film school. I’ve bought a lot of the books as well
Her book is brilliant! Definitely top 5 material!
Just subscribed - you guys have an informative channel that is sprouting my ideas further with screen writings. I'm working on my first, and these videos help intensely with all of the insight given. Keep it up!
Welcome to the family. Here's one to watch if you haven't seen it yet ruclips.net/video/13KcN-fRLFI/видео.html
That was perfect.
Thank you
Wonderful interview. Big heart.
Be careful who you show your story in the early stages, because ideas are fragile in the beginning.
Howard Koor others can talk you out of a good idea. My wife is great at raining on my ideas.
Why is the audio super low on this channel all the time? It's ironic considering this is a film channel.
We appreciate your feedback. Thanks for watching and sharing.
She is truly a master of screenwriting. I know taking her advice and studying her books will result in a great screenplay, which is kinda strange where she doesn't write them.
D. Davis
A master of something she doesn't do?
Like number 500!
Linda dear,, it's nice to see you after so many years......Get in touch with me, I have some wonderful things to tell you about youth and health and I hope you will get in touch!!!! LiveAndInPerson ( Sharon F.)
You've got to remember that at least 50% of success is just down to pure luck.
Right. One of the only reasons Quentin Tarantino got famous is because his producer's acting teacher's wife knew someone who knew Harvey Keitel who showed him Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs script and he liked it. That situation is a great example of knowing the right people and luck.
The harder I work... the luckier I get. (Good Luck)
What evidence do you have to support that statement?
