Was there a few weeks ago to order my Cube eMTB from Mugdock Cycles :) Don't judge me - I can't keep up on the climbs with my 14yr old son but after hiring a Specialized Levo Carbon one at Glentress and doing all the climbs and having twice the fun I decided it wasn't cheating! Looking forward to trying some of these trails too - still trying to decide on which ride will be the maiden voyage! Really enjoying your vids - I tagged a few on Trailforks too - think it was the Golspie one - which was amazing! :)
oh great! Ebikes are super. Means you can get more trails in and the climbs are more enjoyable. I think once you demo one that's it :D. I'm sure you'll have fun no matter which place you choose - enjoy the first ride when it comes. Thanks for that, really appreciate getting feedback on them and hearing what people think :)
Thanks glad you like it! I learned my first mtb skills there 6 years ago and it gave me a great grounding for riding as you can practice so many different things👍 enjoy!
Thanks for this vid. Used to ride round Mugdock all the time when I first started Mtb.... about 25 years ago lol..... didn’t recognise any of it haha. I’ll need to go for an explore next time I’m up that way 👍
My pleasure! Ahh wow it'll definitely have changed a fair bit then - it's even changed a lot over the last 5 years due to a decent bit of felling. Definitely worth an explore when you're near. Lots of good trails to enjoy and most are on the Trailforks app which helps with navigation.
Laura, what an excellent video. You are a complete natural in front of the camera and I think I actually prefer the format to my own videos - stopping to describe trail features and film them really works. Good luck. This channel will fly at some point soon I am sure 👍
Aw thank you! Such a nice comment! I noticed I say the word "fun" A LOT when i'm talking but yeah i'm finding it quite enjoyable getting the footage and editing it all together with different points of view - although it's been quite stressful in some aspects as my laptop isn't powerful enough to cope with it! New one needed!
I ride up Mugdock quite a lot but I don't know where the trail is around 3mins...? Cool video though, I sent it to my riding group. Have you made a video up Kilpatrick yet? If not, that should be next. 😀
That one is behind boards farm and goes down the back towards blanefield/strathblane - it’s a really good one! I think it’s the only one going down that way. It’s been there a while but recently got a new line cut in through the felling at the start. Cheers for sharing the video :). Old kilpatricks would be a good one - will hopefully get up there again soon and maybe put some stuff together!
Hey....great video...not had a chance.to.get to mugdock yet...was.thinking of starting at the OK's and doing a loop, anyhoo get yourself onto renfreshire mountain bike facebook page and get out with the group.... we can even show you the gnarliest trails in the west of scotland.... "the gleniffer braes" !!!!
cheers! Yeah there's a good route across between Mugdock and OK - been planning on doing it soon. Haha i've not been biking out that way yet so maybe after lockdown I'll see about joining a ride sometime!
Thanks! They’re not the easiest to find or to get a good flowing route that works but if you have the trailforks app on your phone that will help a lot. They are all dotted around and unmarked. I tend to park either up at mugdock visitor centre or at milngavie station and head out the west highland way path from there. I find the latter quite good as you can hit some trails on the way out and back (rocky rooty and Katie’s trail)
@@LauraJaneWeeTamMTB thanks for your help. I will download the app. Was prepping my bike today and the brakes need looked at. Was going to pop into Mugdock Cycles but seems like they’re closed 😂. Taking my son with me. Thanks again
@@LauraJaneWeeTamMTB yes thanks Laura. Weather fab and did find some of the trails, although seemed to be a lot more uphill than downhill. My son really enjoyed it so will be back soon
I'm almost 50 and go out with my 14yr old son to Glentress etc - but I'm definitely not a super fit regular rider! It's great fun and the trails are all graded so you can do nice relaxing green ones and blue's are easy enough too - videos like this are great for getting some info on where to go. You can rent a bike at most trail centres too - go give it a go! :)
These look rad ! Solid bit of riding too
cheers! Great trails for mucking about on and sessioning :)

@@LauraJaneWeeTamMTB yeah. I ended up spending £650 on a gaming PC so that I could have stress free editing. It's worth it!!!
@@streetpigeonmtb we've got a crazy powerful gaming pc here actually - maybe will try and fix it up! Yes definitely seems worth it after today!!
@@LauraJaneWeeTamMTB that'll do!
Enjoyed the video Laura 👍🏻

Great vid Laura. I’m gonna check it out this weekend. Are the trails easy to find/signposted. Also what is the best car park to park at? Ta

are the trails on trail forks?
yeah most of them are :)
Great vid Laura, if I was 10 yrs younger I'd consider MTB myself 😂 but I'm not, so I won't 😁
rickym29 cheers!! Haha never too late to try it! Friends of all ages 👍 it’s great fun. Quite enjoying making the wee video edits 🤘

would you recommend the trails for a beginner?
Hi yes definitely. It’s where I learned as a beginner when I picked up my first mountain bike. Lots of different trails and options
@@LauraJaneWeeTamMTB Thanks, will give it a try!
Hi I’ve recently stopped dirt biking and I want to get bike for mtb any dencent prices
