yes Ali! Missed you!! Great to see you back on the streets! The new bike is great looking. Your vids always get me psyched to ride my trials bike. Thanks!
Hi Ali,half the fun in watching your vids is picking out where you are. Mist of the time I recognise the spot, but sometimes you've got me stumped, and I'm from Glasgow!
Crackin good riding Ali! Very inspirational as usual. That nose jib to sidehop up the barrier and 270 pivot off was super stylie; gotta try that one, but on a smaller scale. Stay warm! (and healthy)
When one of my favourite trials riders is rocking with the race concepts and is matching the hubs and spoke nips! When lock down is over you should definitely come to Stirling to shred some trails soon, keep safe man!
i'll say a prayer for your rear tyre. love the videos as always man, always so relaxing, & the style is great. authentic! less fancy editing tricks than other channels & 10x better.
I spent 4 hours in slippery muddy knee deep snow on my mountain bike today, really fucking draining to be slipping and almost falling constantly, also really slow to ride through, cant wait for dry warm weather!
@@Ali_Clarkson after 5 weeks of corona quarantine, i just needed it! Also, take care, i would hate to see you get hurt since its so slippery, awesome video as always!!
Good evening Ali, I know how hard it is trying to ride a bicycle 🚴 with a blister in an awkward place (like between your thumb and forefinger there) and yes 👍 I do agree with you that gloves 🧤 on a cold wet day would have been a good no great 👍 idea, anyway so glad that you managed to get out on you bike and do some entertaining stuff for us all (your fans that is) and until next time stay safe and see you on your next video. I off to bed now as I have started a new job recently.
Ali, I hate to dampen your spirit but I wouldn't hold your breath for that ground to firm up in the summer. You're in Scotland 🌧️ 🌧️🌧️all year around isn't it 😂😂 Love you way your control makes things seem slow motion. Such composure. 🤘👍🔥
@@Ali_Clarkson Yeah, it's been so bad, wet or ice. Can't do street because of weather, can't hit the trails because of Covid. I was very impressed with todays video though. Thank you.
Damn I can't wait to get my first trialsbike.. Doing trials on my hardtail is nice but man I can't wait xD So much inspiration from you Ali, love you content and you're so good at trials ;)
@@devononair I can confirm that tubeless Magic Mary's are pretty good on the ice :) Ps the Drop and Roll crew are missing a trick,Deliveroo/Uber/Just Eat need an advertisement featuring you guys...there's money in them hills.
That foot save at 7min is excellent! Is that something worth practicing before I need it? Glad to see you out in spite of the weather. Thanks for the inspiration.
I wouldn’t say you need to practice that specific thing, I think it’s more just comes down to experience and my body automatically saved me before I even thought about it because I’ve had to do it a thousand times before... just ride and eventually you’ll be able to save yourself (most of the time)
Excuse me Ali, I was wondering what the pros and cons of having high handlebars are. I’ve seen that most street trial riders use the arcade riser bars which are quite high. Nice riding, love your videos!
Higher bars give you a more upright riding position which makes the front end easier to lift for bunnyhops and manuals, you can go too high though which will limit how high you can hop so there’s a compromise
@@timmieskills actually the opposite, lower bars are way better for both back and front wheel control as you’re able to stand the bike more vertical and have your weight more directly over the wheels, high bars is probably one of the main reasons why street bikes are difficult to ride natural (plus high tyre pressure) as the higher bars make it less accurate and more cramped feeling
Ali: "I'm so bad a fakie nose manual" then does one halfway across a carpark. Me: Can't hardly regular fakie and can't hardly regular nose manual. Ali, you put us to shame with your skills.
Do you ever cut down tyres? lots of racers cut down mud spike so they deform less and roll quicker. If the tyre is a good case and compound would you try cutting the tread down a touch to reduce squirm? Also would you take sponsorship from a tyre company or is it more important to have the tyre you WANT?
Would the Maxxis Holy Roller tire have the right combination of grip and short knobbles? I like them on pump tracks and dirt jumps (no trials skills here).
How can you hop so high... I’ve gotten to the point where I can hop 60-70 cm at the most with a pedal kick but I can’t seem to get any higher... should I try to use a bunnyhop instead of a pedal kick? Does it make any difference when trying to go higher or is it the same?
I’ve had a lot of practice! Bunnyhop or pedal kick depends on what you’re trying to achieve... for flat run ups I can definitely bunnyhop higher than I can pedal kick but the comp guys would be the opposite (unless they’re on a bunnyhoppable 20”). It all comes down to the preload and efficiency of execution. It’s like jumping on your feet, you’ll go nowhere if you don’t preload
