Glad to see the skates finally getting noticed. Just picked up a pair a month ago and have been completely impressed with how they perform.
aweseome
I like how you mixed the review with actual footage of you skating each different frame I would like to see more of these skate reviews in the future
That bend in the boot is wild. That hasn't happened at all on mine -- maybe you're right on the laces!
I've tried a ton of different frames on mine and really like them with GC Bigs and Megas. Both fun park setups.
yea maybe its the laces :/ i should try actual laces on them to see if thats the issue
Really appreciate the feedback from so many different perspectives.
glad you enjoyed it 🙏
Very refreshing skate review. Seemed extremely honest. Thanks
glad you enjoyed it! 🙏
Great review!
PS : Rule N°X for Wizard skating boots : Removing the soulplate and put real hockey laces that will keep your feet in place. If you can, try again with the frame attached directly to the boot, it will feel more responsive, a bit lighter too. But no possibility to grind of course (except some front or royal or unity like Sam Croft does with his PR80)
thats what people are saying with the frame directly to the boot. i havent tried that becuase on my seba wizard skate, i always wish there was a soul plate on it to do some grinds so this is my ideal setup, but i can see how mounting the frame directly to the shell would help
I've only held them in person, and the setup was with the Intuition liner, but it was by far the lightest setup I've felt in a long time. I was worried that the plastic would kinda have that flex point around the laces near the center, but I feel that could probably be fixed with some sturdy waxed laces. Great review.
Loved this vid, there are many ‘skate review’ videos out there and all are good in their own way. Hearing a Pro like Austin give his thoughts is great, PLUS you still get that Jump Street production quality 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
haha thanks for watching glad you enjoyed it! 🙏
With waxed laces tying the intuition all the way up to the cuff, 45 strap locked, I don’t even the buckle cinched perfect for my foot shape too. Only added a dead heel pad. (Boot Only)
I think any plastic boot, with the top cut as deep as that is going to have flex issues. I don't think it was just the elastic laces (so random, haha) that caused that. Great review, I love that you tried different frames and liners and gave the complete perspective.
glad you enjoyed it 🙏
Really great review, Austin. This video is top notch, from the presentation to the production to the information to the clips.
thanks nathan glad you enjoyed it! 🙏
I love my FR and I've actually been trying to find another pair for a wizard setup. I've been using my FR with my unsponsored question frames and I've been loving the ability to turn my skate from a park skate to a freestyle skate in under a minute.
yea the versatility is nice
Such a versatile skate. Definitely getting a pair. Awesome video
🙏
When you buy the Intuition version, the plastic boot is basically comes free :D I really liked it for big wheel, but had to sell it because the size I bought was too small :( I wish I could have tried as a custom aggy setup. Also agree to your points that it is highly underrated and insanely cheap price.
yea i dont get how its so inexpensive
I use regular laces on those and i neeever had my boot bend like that. I think stiff laces are an important part of the skate's structure because of how open it is.
Bloomfield, NJ! On my to-do list to check out that skate park next time I visit my family in the neighboring town. I hit up a small skate park in Pennington, NJ sometimes on my way home from work, but unfortunately it's usually pretty quiet with some skateboarders / scooters; haven't come across any other rollerbladers yet.
bloomfield is really fun, check it out
I have a pair with 4x90mm roka frames on them, I'm a complete novice at wizard but it's a nice set up just to skate!
Im not the greatest skater but I got a pair of these. Own like 9 pairs and counting from all different brands. In my opinion these FRs are one of my favorite pairs. I use my own frames on them. Easy to lock grinds and really comfortable.
wow 9 pairs haha thats a lot
Definitely agree, such a sleeper hit of a boot, but the frames weren't great for me coming back to skating at 35 😂
yea i would def recommend getting your own frames for them ha
more please! Would love your opinion on every skate out there.
every skate? by the rate it took me to make this...i should have them all done 2035
I've experimented with mine a bit and I think my favourite set ups are some K2 R100 frames and some Compass 80mm frames. Makes a nice hybrid.
sounds like a good setup!
Definitely an underrated skate 👊🏼
agreed
I own every color way of his wheels. They make a 65/88 and a 58/88 in black which are great for skating flat in OYSI frames. For my other oysi set ups I use 58/88 chroma wheels for wheels 2 + 3. The bullet profile along with the Pottier wheel profile; which isn't flat or round make for a an interesting anti-rocker feel on deep leaning turns which I prefer coming from riding anti for nearly 30 years.
The perk of the Aeon80s construction is they cut out portion of the skate to allow room for the wheels to sit at the bottom of the boot. So that makes sense when comparing any skates height with the Aeon. But interesting perspective, I haven't seen anyone else comment on the stock setup. All I've seen are new boots but usual frame/wheels.
Spot on about the flex in these boots if using with taller frames/wheels. The FR's shells will flex at the point shown and that's seldom mentioned. I suspect in due time it will eventually give at that area or you'd see it turning white due to the stretch.
always been curious about those too since pottier is so damn good in them.
If I could do half the stuff you do I would be forever happy. Cool vid man!
Solid, honest review! I’ve been on these since March, I love the fit and the speed of the soulplate but the backslide groove leaves something to be desired. Putting the rockerable FR1 cuff on is a nice addition for switching up the flex point but I’m still on the fence about them. The souls are definitely what make me keep skating them. I also ripped out the the foam inside the boot and added my own heel lift/ shock absorber.
I'm not even a *big* fan of the FR free skate but I almost bought these just for the intuition liner. Still considering.
And yeah, the FR freeskate feels very soft/flexible when compared to other plastic boots on the market. Knowing that is a large part of what steered me from the UFR version.
(to note, I'm a (re)beginner AG skater).
I have them set up with a trimax 3x110 wheels (rock them close to the boot)and although I get a bit of flex, it rides great in skate parks and on the street.
Gotten up to 20 mph on them. Love riding 3 wheels and also be able to grind some.
Would love to see more videos like this!
🙏
I have these boots with the Intuition liner and they RULE. Best boots for wide feet and the price point is unbeatable. I'm rolling with the Ground Control HD 80mm flat frame.
great buy! i need a bigger shell to fit my foot better, but id be interested in trying the intuition version the way it comes
I haven't had the issue with the plastic boot bowing out, but I use hockey laces, so maybe the laces are the issue. Another great thing about this boot is that when you take the soul plates off, you can still attach UFS frames (if you have shorter bolts handy) because the heel extends down farther, making it excellent as a lighter weight freeskate with UFS frame options. These boots ARE totally underrated, I honestly can't see myself skating any other boots in the foreseeable future.
@@tommymclaughlin-artist someone else mentioned that in the comments as well about mounting frames directly to the boot. i havent done that since i dont usually cruise and do distance skating, but i can see that being another great use for the boot
Fake review... not wearing ankle socks 😆 Just messin, great vid as always! Always keen to hear your insights
haha! i should've said something but FR sent me those socks with the skates so i feel like i had to get the full experience with them

@@aoiwrt haha alwyn! hope youre chilling homie!
Great video dude, more skate reviews / opinions would be cool.
glad you enjoyed it 🙏
I got at least from a buddy who got em but never skated em, and I bought them from him just to try out. They are surprisingly good skates, and one of the fastest sole plates I've ever used.
i heard people say they were the fastest sould plates, but i found them pretty average. definitely not slow but i wasnt blown away by how fast they were
@@JumpStreetPodcast Maybe it was because I went straight from an Aeon to these.
@@edwardlewis6352 I did the same thing and was impressed with them. I think anything feels fast compared to the Aeon souls (although I've since added Sliqx to mine and really love them).
i love this skate, but i cant skate agressive with this, its just too stiff. its amazing for Big Wheels and good for wizard. For wizard i switched to the seba CJ because its easier to control the rocker with a flat soul
i thought it wouldve been too stiff for aggressive also but it felt great for me at least. for wizard stuff, i would agree that a carbon seba skate would do better, but for the price of the FRs you cant go wrong
I’ve been rolling these for the last month.I feel like they are using a softer plastic in the cuff with the restock because I keep hearing these were super stiff, but I do not notice that at all and feel they are flexy.
Great video! I am considering to get boot only. What frame and wheels did you use for your wizard setup?
they were the Endless UFS 90mm with endless wheels
I've been thinking about these skates lately after seeing FlowerSheRolls with them! I'm strongly considering since the open top of the shell might solve my pressure point issues (also wouldn't mind a solid setup for big wheels)
that open shell concept feels niiiiiiice. your feet will thank you
I love that skates
The ol usfsussrusa setup
a classic...
I m riding this for wizard but without soul plate and roka 5x76mm hydrogen wheels. Still breaking in them
Slept on skate. Just rip out the glued insole, I found it feels and fits better.
interesting. i felt like it was uneven in one skate compared to the other. maybe i should try that
I like the look. sounds good
yea the look really grew on me
It's a boot Diplomacy!
Such a good skate bro
agreed
Nice review thanks
glad you enjoyed it sascha 🙏
Duuude Magnificent
Hmmm you got me interested with the wide and light aspects of the skate…
ive told you theyre legit ha!i wish you were my size to try them
I have a pair with the intuitions. Hot damn it’s a great skate. Weighs nothing, grinds fast and is very versatile because of the ability to switch it to a freeskate. Not to be slept on! Did you try bolting the big wheel ufs frame directly to the bottom of the boot?
agreed! no i haven't. I'm not personally into just straight big wheel skating so it didnt interest me, nor do i have much of that to compare to so i didn't think i should've been giving my opinion on it ha.
@@JumpStreetPodcast Concise! Like it. I’m a terrible ‘wizarder’!? too 😂 But yeah, the skate just feels like a really nice freeskate when you bolt big wheels directly to the boot. Deffo check that option out just for scooting about, gives a whole new dimension to the skate. Stay hip! 🙏
@@that_which_is_not ill definitely give it a shot thanks!
Buen review! 🤟🏽✨
I'm looking into this skate but have two questions. First is it a flat boot? I put more heel pads in skates and kinda skate my setup higher than most. That's what's going to bring me to the second question. I like the huge area because my liners go higher up, and most skates give me pressure points on the side of my foot. Is it a wider boot? I know it sounds crazy, but when I skated back in the day, I did big gaps and rails. So I always put two heel shocks in. Now I'm skating again. It feels right still
The UFRs are not a flat boot, it does have a heel lift. I would say the width is medium, not skinny like an M12 but not super wide like a Blank. I generally have a wider foot and even in the smaller shell size, I didn't have any pressure points on the sides of my feet like with other skates.
lets gooooo!! dope vid!
🤘
Great review! Where's that second park?
So I have the Intuition release of these skates and love most of the things about them, but my big issue with them is how tall (or thick or whatever) the souls were when I was doing soul tricks - like I couldn't feel (If that's the right word) the surface I was grinding on. Admittedly, I am not a good skater so it could be me but I also saw a few people online say the same thing. Did you get that feeling too?
i didnt really notice that but the way everyone does their tricks are different and no skate is for everyone. you might benefit more from an aeon or a blank with a lower profile
god i wish they would make the frames a 60mm setup so it'll be skate-able , i was definitely thinking about grabbing a set but I knew 65mm is just wheelbite city for me and probably about 90% of all aggressive skaters
Tru to size or best to down or up size
id say true to size. I'm a US8 and this 7-7.5 shell they sent me is a little tight and ive tried someones US8 after and they fit perfect
@@austinpaz2174 🙏🏽 much appreciated
Flyingeagle skates are under rated, and I'm not just saying that because I'm sponsored by them which is what everyone says everytime I talk about them. I would say they are actually pretty similar to these ones you just showed us
whats ur opinion on this one vs rollerblade blank sk?
Just for an overall skate? I preferred the blanks. When I started hopping around from one skate to another after filming for this, I realized how tall the FRs were but other than that they’re still awesome. I just preferred the blanks
Do you think the stock liner could fill up the SL boots well?
cool rullor skurts
Неllo)!
Foot size 36
Shoes 36
Please tell me what size rollers to chose? )
36 or 37? ❤
I am surprised that Austin with his nice and low position of grinds knows a wheel bite 😂🙂
i'm looking at around 420 for the entire 4*90 freeride setup. 220 for the intuition boot is an absolute steal so i'm getting these next month (or next week since patience isn't my thing these days lmao).
Basically looking for something solid to do dumb shit on and these tick all the boxes for me.
HahahHa freestyle let’s gooooooo
hahah siiiiiiiiiike
5:22 Textbook.
Anyone knows if they work for wide feet?
No homo, just being positive. Austin Paz had aged gracefully. He turned into a silver fox after his plaid hat long hair days. I'm like "how is bruh aging like this."
Plus hes top tier level as à skater !
Easy for you to say! Also, this video is nonsense because you can literally skate anything!
😂 jack of all trades...master of none
@@JumpStreetPodcast true topsoul says otherwise. Stop fishing for compliments!
Wait… what’s the name of the skate again? Hahaha 🫶
Lmao USSR
USSR
Please do this for every boot on the market!! (Won’t take that long right? 🫠)
at this rate i should have it all wrapped by 2035
