Coming from someone who overlands and car camps, how do you sleep without covering your windows? The thought of someone watching while I sleep would keep me awake forever. 🥺
I never traveled and I’m 75 and I find these little adventures that you guys go on are very interesting and fun. Thank you for sharing. I love your dog, beautiful. 🙋🏻♀️🦋
That's right getting up there in age and it's difficult for use to do all those things experience all those adventures. Here I've spent my whole life working. So I agree it's fun watching.
Being a massive introvert myself, my anxiety just went through the roof watching you explore the city. I can't even handle being around the smallest crowds.. 😐
Girl, you know people can see you as clear as day when you don't have covers on your windshield/windows and you have a light on inside. When you do that, you're basically putting a spotlight on yourself and magnifying yourself to the people around you. Gotta stay safe man. Roaming reckless, yes. Roaming foolish, no.
this video is friggin AWESOME!! That drone shot of the city is just amazing. I am going to use it as my screensaver. But strange to see Blue and you in a city . Nice job Maria.
PLEASE be careful. I love just outside Chicago and the past year has even the down town area has tripled in car jackings and murder. I've lived in this area for 60 years and now I'm afraid to be in the city.
My bf and I have recently gotten into car camping (cause we saw how much you love doing it and we love the outdoors) but we had a serious convo about not going into cities because of this. Hopefully now all the ticks are gone and you can go back into the woods!! ❤
i am so surprised you left your car unattended with them bags on the roof and their still there you are brave and very lucky, i would not goto chicago if i was paid to do so and i live 53 miles from that chitty city, You Go Girl:)
I would suggest getting some reflectix with blackout curtains on the other side to put in your windows because if you’re going to be staying the night in places like that and are trying to be stealth, you’ll have more peace of mind
Great video, Maria! I actually loved watching you venture into a new place besides the woods. I think it’s interesting. LOVED the editing, videography, and new style! You did an awesome job with this one. ❤
Blue's thinking to himself "Chicago don't suck that bad Momma, there's no ticks and I got to play fetch in a cool park." Glad that you and Blue managed to survive the night. You belong in the woods Maria, stay away from big cities. I'm painfully introverted like you said you were, and the further I can get away from the madness and despair of city life, the happier I am. You needed to experience the city again, so you'd be convinced you don't need to go back anytime soon. 😍 Happy Thanksgiving to you, Blue and the rest of your immediate family and fans of RR. 💙 🐾 🦃 Loved the editing. If you are in the Chicago area again and need to camp, Illinois Beach State Park is on Lake Michigan just 10 or so miles from the Wisconsin border. It’s suburban camping but has lake front walking and hiking areas.
Well it looks like you were in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago. That's not too bad of an area. While you're in Illinois II hope you get a chance to check out starved Rock State Park. Lots of camping in that area in blue will love it.

It's interesting that I get people all the time saying to me how unsafe it is to park in the wilderness. LOL All the crime is in the inner city. Just be careful and always be aware of your surroundings and if something doesn't feel right, move to another location. Always follow your intuition. Sometimes I park in a Walmart or Cracker Barrel, but I do prefer out in the middle of nowhere the best and feel totally safe off the beaten trail. Stay safe and travel on, Maria!
Chicago is my home town. I’m in Georgia feeling a bit homesick. There should have been parking at a library or hospital. But you would have venture to the suburbs.

Stealth camping in Chicago is definitely an experience like you said. ‘A friend of mine’ did that for a night on the north side on the way to see the eclipse and even that was a little anxiety inducing 😂
I grew up in the Suburbs and was in the loop a lot as a child with my mom. Good memories, but I’m not sure I would go down there anymore. The crime has gotten so bad. My daughter was there this past summer and had a gun pulled on her. Maybe a fake under a shirt but she had three small children with her. When her husband walked up the guy was pretty scary but then left. Yes.. they called the police. Hope your home now.
Some of suburbs are just as bad. I was on pins & needles watching this young lady & her precious dog walking around the city.. forget sleeping in your car in Chicago. Not sure if Maria would feel as safe in Detroit but yeah.. it’s like that. She’s just been very lucky this time around.

Hi, glad you made it out safe ; ). I live 35 miles west you could have cleaned up and regrouped here in Schaumburg. Anyway I just sold a cabin in Hayward Wis and relatives in the Ste Marie area also. Wonderful states up there. Back to this little note, my friend just sent me several pictures from the UP close to the Wis border and a bit north of a cougar walking close to their cabin. I just wanted to let you know there is one in that area. I saw one also by my cabin about 6 years ago but the dnr couldn't care less if I didn't have pictures. So be careful you two. Always be careful. Hugs to that beautiful baby of yours.

I'm sorry you had a negative experience. I've lived in Chicago for 34 years and love it here. This video hurt my soul a little bit 😂 It looks like you stayed in Lincoln Park near Northwestern Hospital, which is one of the busiest, loudest areas in the entire city. If you decide to try this again I would suggest staying in one of the many charming neighborhoods Chicago has to offer. There are plenty of safe, quiet areas to sleep with ample free, overnight parking. Safe travels.
@@sandrasomewhere are you serious?? Boys Town? Edgewater? Lincoln Park?Logan Square?? You must be living in another dimension. The hospitals here in Australia are getting worse too. We have people come in on Ice and threatening staff or smashing the Emergency Department up. They've started employing bigger, stronger guards - bodybuilders, ex-military or police, etc to deal with the violence. Hey! You left us hanging! Was this day's coffee better than the "green beans" coffee experience the previous day? For noisy nights, I blast the white-noise/nature-sounds app on my phone to dull the irritating sounds of the city. I noticed some cool new editing, but I also think I know what kinds of shots you added that you wanted feedback about. I'll take that over to Super Roamers. And NO TICKS!!!

I'm surprised you Dont have the window coverings too! But then again wild and free its spool nice to see the outside like seriously I always have my coverings(blinds!) up and it it's nice to see the outside world lol ❤️🥰😊
Well it was Starbucks, so…
@@CookingbyCampsite Hey now! Starbucks is pretty consistently adequate. 😏🤎 Does it remind you of Battlestar Galactica? (very subtle reference)
@@mikemurphymagic Gee thanks! Now the A-Team theme song is stuck in my head! 😂
Yeah, those big city frequencies (noises) can get to you if you are not used to them. I prefer the smaller towns. Much quieter and more melllow vibes.
A "nice neighborhood" in chicago?! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA Whew! I needed that laugh.
Have you ever had Pizza Papalis in Michigan? There was one in Greek Town and one in Bloomfield Hills on Telegraph. I don't think the one in Greek Town is still there
The first sounds on this video says it all! 🚨🚔
This is the first time I’ve seen someone press the gas grade button using the end of the fuel nozzle. Makes sense to me cause it means less germs. Gonna start doing that.
Small world. Yesterday, I went out of my way to veer around it. I went south to Ottawa, from Minneapolis, just to avoid it. I hate everything about Shitcago.
This sounds like me and Dallas...and Memphis.
@@HeathenofthePineyWoods Yeah. Dallas AND San An have some special drivers...I typically only try to avoid LA. Shitcago, DC, and Atlanta. Never visited Memphis though, nor do I plan to.
Mic drop!
Boooo
Memphis is horrible so much crime
I gotta say this was a nice change of scenery from the usual nature stuff and the shots of the city were amazing. This video makes me want to go visit the city lol
Be thankful you're not one of the dozens who get shot in Chicago every weekend 🙏
Fabulous edit!
Wishing you and Blue a very Happy Thanksgiving💕
My home town so you brought a tear to my eye eating that pizza! I miss the pizza and the Cubs and that's about it be careful!!
I'm a Chicago - city lifer and did you know the city is in a extreme violent crime crisis. True in one day 65 carjack-cars stolen.Seriously happy you made it out alive and safe!!!!!!!!!! Namaste.
