My friend told me something about grief. It's a stone in your pocket. It's heavy. It weighs you down. But the more you carry that stone, the lighter it gets because you become stronger. You never forget that stone. It will always be in your pocket but you're stronger, so it's not heavy anymore.
I'm paraphrasing a instagram I saw. It hit me in my soul, especially since I was a widow at 36. Colorado is gonna miss you, Maria. Wishing you safe travels and much love home to you, Taz ... and Blue❤

That is a wonderful outlook. I had to have my soul dog (16yr old JRT called Rosie) pts 15 months ago. I honestly thought I would never recover. I still break down now and the inexplicable ache is still there but the weight of it is lighter. I have another young pup which happened by fate and he (1yr old Jackshund called Wally) will never replace Rosie but I do love him dearly. Like Blue and Taz they are polar opposites and I feel that is a good thing, it's a whole new energy and way of life.

I love you so much. I’m a 71 year old grandma, now living in part of my son’s house, having moved to CT from south FL. Though I don’t live in a vehicle, I do take long lone road trips and I find myself getting tips from you, like easy meals, where to stop, etc. I’ve watched you maturing, but in general, please don’t change too much. Take care of yourself.

I lost my Kobe, a mini American Eskimo, in Feb 2020. He would've been 20yrs old in April. I had him since he was 9wks old. I miss him everyday. I don't deal with loss very well either. I don't cry all day anymore so that's a plus. Knowing I'll be with him again one day helps. I'm so sorry you lost Blue 💔❤️

I lost my dog almost 9 months ago now and I am still grieving. I cry every time I hear her name or think about her and I still dedicate nights to her where I scroll through photos of her. I still have my precious little Pomchi soul mate, Miles, but he just turned 9 and has luxating patella (bad joints). I cannot bear the thought of my life without him one day, and every time I encounter another dog mom like me, I just cry. I just thank God for him every single night and day. Every night when I say my prayers, I say "thank you for this Heaven. " 0:00

Just breathe....be PATIENT and gentle with yourself...feel your feelings...let yourself be loved and cared for when you can...and keep going. The grief will slowly get better. Soon you will string moments, then hours, then days when you are able to function again. It definitely won't be linear and... it won't happen as quickly if you are impatient with yourself. Just breathe when everything else doesn't work...breathe and pet Taz and know that you are loved...and that Blue is loving you ...always.💕

Another great thing about the bluetti LiFePo4 battery is that it doesn’t lose charge if it’s just sitting. I have a little one (Eb3a) in my pickup-bed camping setup. I charged it last summer for a trip, used 48% of the charge… and it’s been sitting in the pickup, through the cold of winter and the eat of summer, at the same 52% for the last YEAR. It hasn’t lost any charge. I’m very impressed!!

My sister in law recently lost her twin sister to cancer. She is struggling with the loss, her twin sister was her person, the one she talked to the most and told everything to. The loss will never go away but the grief will ease with time and support. It is not something that can be rushed.

Thank you for the informative Q&A. Over the years, I've lost several members of my K-9 pack family. My heart knows each one so deeply. I will always love them. OK, I'm crying now. Such wonderful memories. Recovery from their loss was best when I rode my horse up to the mountain, sat under a tree, and had one-on-one time with my memories. My horse sensed my sorry and stayed calm and quiet. She missed her dog buddy because we were a threesome team on the trail most of the time. If my dog got tired, I'd pull her up with me, and she rode along. I bond with horses and dogs better than with people. You probably do, too.

Grieving is tricky business. There’s no reason to buck against it because you have to walk through it.🙏🏻 it definitely is a heavyweight for a while, and I can’t tell you the memories don’t trigger instant grief moments bc because even time doesn’t erase the scars of a broken heart. What does take place is that you can love the little girl you have and even another Aussie, which will heal your pain. No one has to tell you because it’s obvious but no pup can take the place of “Blu”. ❤🙏🌻 I am so glad you’re going home for a few weeks. It will recharge you!😊

I truly believe we...those of us that consider our "pets" as family...have a soul dog (or cat or bird etc). I'm 56 and I've had a lot of cats and dogs thru life but the dog I currently have (in profile pic with me)is my soul dog. He's 14 and I've had him for 13 years. When he finally leaves me it's going to tear me up!
I've had many cats but only 1 soul cat that I lost about 20 years ago. I've never gotten "over it" but time has made the pain of living without him more bareable. It's like any other great loss...it effing hurts!!

The pain of losing your child will probably always be there but in my experience, the intesity of grief lessens and the internal space for new connections and joy grows with time.
Please don't worry about regular uploads right now, we will be here whenever you are ready to share a video.
All your viewers love Blue and understand that you need time to heal and take care of your mental health.
I experience you as a strong and resiliant person and trust you will get through this.
The challenge may be to let yourself fall and feel everything you need to feel in order to process.
Allowing yourself the space and spending time with loved ones is probably the best thing you can give to yourself.

Nothing like the love of a dog and nothing like the loss of a dog. I’m 70 years old always had a canine companion lost many. Some are more precious. If only our fur babies could live longer. I lost my Jack Russell mix about four years ago now. Like blue there was something really special about this dog. They all have their own personalities just like children. I went to rescue after he passed away and I got a senior dog that was 13 years old with the name of mayhem that should’ve told me something :-) he had a lot of PTSD I think maybe your Taz has some of that too.. who knows what they’ve been through before we get them. It was a real struggle with my new dog mayhem he still has PTSD attacks if something happens and triggers it but I’m really glad that I got him and he’s really glad he has me. Mayhem was returned four times. I still miss my Jackboy. He also died of lymphoma. My little dog mayhem now has become quite the guardian and good friend. It was over a year before I could really even get a hand on him, but I’m glad I was there for him. Over the years we have bonded. It will get better. Blue was very fortunate to have you. You were very fortunate to have blue stay strong. I’m sure that’s what Blue would want. Enjoy your travels. Enjoy your youth.

You're right about not getting over the loss. Ive lost many pets in my life and they all hurt but the last two were crushing. They were such special dogs. I lost Lulu 2/18/2020, six days after she was diagnosed with lymphoma. She was not quite five years old. It was devastating and im so glad you were able to keep Blue longer and enjoy him more while he was still well. I lost my Gertie just over a year ago. She was my rock. She was almost 15 and had been battling Cushings disease for a couple years. It started to progress to a point that required more medication which involved more side effects and although i could have waited a little longer i couldnt bear to watch her deteriorate further. I didnt want her to suffer. I am devastated at the loss, i miss her like it was yesterday. I break down often. I will never get over it. I understand how you feel and i am sending you so much love. I'm so sorry😔🫂💔

I got a rescue and it took about a year for him to finally realize he won the human lottery, his personality is very different from the time I first got him to now, like a new dog.
Taz is so sweet, regarding relationships I think times are changing and relationships are different, they almost need to be customized. Old ways of being in relationships doesn't work anymore people have changed. It's about customizing what works for both people.

I feel your pain on losing a fur baby. It does get better after awhile. It's been 15years since my weiner dog passed. Not gonna lie I still miss her a lot. She was my ride or die. The car riding was her favorite thing to do. She is always in my heart and Blue will always be with you. ❤😢

I sadly lost my best bud, a pit bull named Chance, going on 5 years and I still cry over him. He was my bestie and I miss him so incredibly much. Everyone deals with grief differently. But life does go on, and you are just grateful for the time you DID have with them & honor them in all you do.

It has been over 10 years since I lost my first dog due to someone killing her. And even now every time I will think about her it’s hard to keep my eyes from watering. You asked about tips and i am not sure about time, what I know is that we hold memories of the precious souls that got to live life with us and that by itself will always help a little :)

Maria, you asked about what may help with Blue. My Frankie was your Blue. I was in a fetal position until a friend recommended the book The Amazing Afterlife of Animals. Karen Anderson is a world famous animal communicator and animals go to her post death. The stories are absolutely amazing and so heartwarming! Please get the book if you can. I have some amazing visitation photos of Frankie coming to me right after I lost her. I’m a Christian but I truly believe these animals are able to give us signs they are still with us. Please get if you can. Or if you have a PO Box, I’ll send it to you-loads of love. I know your pain 🙏🏻♥️

You are as real as they come. You will know when the time is right for another Aussie. I miss him and you need to have time to grieve. If you dream about him he is visiting you. My lost dog from childhood has still visited me until today. The connection of love never dies...he will always be close to you. I was raised Catholic too. the spirit never dies and love is what holds people and pets close. Also, thank you for the P O box :)

I just lost my dog unexpectedly in Mar and OMG it sucks! He was my special buddy but I think Taz will help. I was going to wait until Fall to get another dog but hated not have a pup and ended up getting a puppy about 8 weeks late and it has helped so much. Don’t get me wrong I miss Macafee like crazy but having Obie has been an unexpected blessing. Thinking of you and know Blue will always be in your heart!!! Hugs

That was one of the best Q & A videos I have ever watched. I lost my Hendrix 2 years ago this past June and truthfully, I will always have a hole that he use to fill. I always wish I could feel him and I remember every inch of him. I don't think the pain gets better. I think I just learn how to live with it better. I also have my girl Bonnie, and while it is not the same connection, it is good and she helps a lot.

We just lost our doggie Jasmine. I was holding her when she stopped breathing. My son was at work. When he called to tell me he was sick n his way home I asked him to come as quickly and safely as possible.
He said she passed already? When he got home he lost. Our other doggie (actual litter sisters) took him to where we had placed Jazzy to show him. The next day we buried her. He went work told them what had happened and said “I’m going to try my best”. Then sent him home.
Losing a pet is so very hard.

From where I stand, you are very successful at ‘balancing’. No matter what comes up you deal with it, some things much harder than others. Your life is focused on the things that really matter to you. And I bet you are getting to be a world class editor.

Ria, Time is a healer, it will always be a part of you, and it may take a long time, and thats okay. I lost my wee pupper girl In 2012 and it was hard, I have never grieved so hard before, but eventually the hurt eased and happy memories came forward more than sad ones. I still miss her keenly. Best thing I can say is to acknowledge the pain and grief, journal your feelings and talk to someone when it feels really hard. For me I realized although it hurt, I was a much better person for having had my pupper and the love she gave was a gift and I treasure it. Grief ebbs and flows, it comes and goes out of nowhere, as your heart mends.

I'm so sorry about Blu 😢 I lost my Tanner Beagle May 28, 2020. I have PTSD and Tanner kept me grounded. The following June I had a mental breakdown. The doctors put me on medications along with therapy. I still haven't gotten over the lost and still on the medications. I'm in a fairly better place at the moment. Prayers for you to be able to recuperate and learn the best way to deal with the loss of Blue. 🙏 Be safe and stay wonderful 💕

I'm late to comment on this one so I doubt you'll see it, but I hope you will :) The best thing someone said to me when I lost someone close to me was "You'll never get over it, but you will get through it" Time will eventually make things easier, but you will always carry that bond you had with Blue and that's part of your story. When your story is over, you'll see Blue again :) I hope this touches your heart like it did mine. I'm glad to hear you're going back to Michigan, it will be good for your soul to reunite with family. Stay safe.

Blu was one of a kind and will always have a place in your heart and mind. I know you don’t think time will help, but as time does go on the pain does get easier. No you don’t get over them being gone but it’s not as fresh and you have so many memories to comfort you. I hope you know is pain-free and complete with Jesus and he is always with you❤

I lost my precious 14 yo cat to cancer a little over a year ago. She traveled across the world with me and I took it so hard. I struggled to function at all for a few months. A year later, I'm still grieving so much. It does get easier with time, but its hard. I'm sorry that you are having to go through this. Sending you strength and support.
But, on a completely separate topic, have you considered getting a soda stream or other water carbonator? I know it's a luxury item. But they don't take too much space and no electricity, just water and CO2 canisters that you can trade in for filled ones. I also like bubbly water and mine saves me so much money. You can even get flavors to add to the water if you like.

Being honest, you’ll probably never “get over” it. The days of pain do get father apart over time. When you love someone that much, it never completely goes away. I cry a couple times a year thinking about my Grandfather. He passed away in 1980.
