I like to add 1 or 2 tbsp yellow or red lentils to the boiling water too it adds more fibre and protein and makes the texture even better
alternative to the jalapeños: aji amarillo paste! it is a peruvian pepper that is yellow and very cheesy. a little bit of this paste adds a great heat, tang, and cheesiness!
Thx! Will look it up.
oooh thanx for the tip!
@@PlantifulKiki honestly when i’m super lazy i just put that on my stuff instead of making cheez because it’s so good and low cal
Does this have to be ordered on line?
@@lbrown6859 if you have a good latin market near you, you should be able to find it there. otherwise you may need to. i live in the UK and Italy, but i looked around on USA websites and it seems Fresh Market has a couple brands in their stores.
Good morning I have to tell you that you make the best short videos. I love all your videos and I am so happy and appreciative for the time you give to us for your videos. 🥰🥰
Thanks Kiki for posting this. I have made this SO many times and it never gets old. I literally eat this with everything!

Another awesome recipe.

Thank you for showing this recipe again. I'm getting the ingredients I'm missing ASAP.
Thank you for this great cheese dip. Another wonderful recipe from you. Thanks👍🥰
Thanks so much for this recipe! Nutritional yeast gives me a headache so I am happy to see a recipe for cheese sauce without it.
I just made this and it was AMAZING!!! I will definitely make this a lot from now on!
I made it today and yesss it’s freaking delicious!! I can’t stop eating it with chips ❤❤❤Ty!
I literally just found this video today and tried it and it is OMG delicious even though I accidentally forgot to add the jalapeno's. LOVE THIS. Thank you for providing the recipe! I will absolutely use this often!

You were not kidding when you said finger licking good! I love this it’s my new go to, thank you!
I add an onion to the potato's and carrots when I'm boiling them, comes out so good.
I need to try this
I have to try this 💯💯💯👏👏
looks delicious
My partner who hates veggies had no idea it wasn’t dairy cheese. I will be using this recipe against his veggie hating children next. Thank you!!
I love this sauce!!! 😋 BTW my husband is not a vegetarian and really liked it too!😊
Kiki can you please make a video on how you started your first meals ?What would you eat at the beginning ?How did you adjust ?What were you bringing with you if you were at of the house ?thank you
There all in her video library.. just search for the first video's, plus she has what I eat to loss weight..
@@dottiea.2186 Thank you !!
The YUMMY-est! 🤤
It looks wonderful. Is there a substitute for the nuts for those of us that have family members very allergic to nuts?
Hemp hearts
Is this a new recipe? ! I noticed there was no Nutritional Yeast in it. But it looks delicious
ya i leave it out now, I don't even miss it, plus the jalapenos add so much flavor
Thanks for asking bc it answered my question.
Ty Kiki for answering! ❤️
@@PlantifulKiki can I ask why you leave it out? I just found your channel and this looks delicious but I was wondering how cheesy it tastes without any nooch in it. That typically helps make vegan cheeses taste cheesy, and as an admitted cheese lover lol, wanted to ask if this actually has the cheesy flavor? Is there a reason you're leaving the nooch out? I'm not at all trying to snark or anything, I'm genuinely asking as I wasn't sure if someone is wrong with nooch that I'm unaware of or you just don't think it needs it.
Regardless, thanks for this recipe! Oh! What kind of potatoes do you like to use for this? Thanks so much for the recipe. I will have to try it soon. I'm glad I found your channel and look forward to trying out some of your recipes!
Looks great! Do you have a suggestion for a non-nut substitute for the cashews?
You can use sunflower seeds instead of cashews
hemp hearts work great
My husband who is a “meat and potato” kinda guy had no idea this was vegan nacho cheese. This is the best nacho “cheese” I have ever made. Thank you.
Looks so amazing! What kind of chips are those? Because most chips have so much oil. I'm just wondering if you cut up the tortillas and baked them or what. Thanks so much!
She has a video for the oil free tortilla chips. I believe she does corn tortillas cuts them to bite size and bakes them at 400 for 10-15 min. On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. She also will squeeze lime over them and add salt or chilli lime seasoning. Seasoning is optional.
This definitely looks yummy. I'm wondering if I can use fresh jalapenos instead of the pickled. My parents are salt sensitive
try aji amarillo paste! but fresh works well too, just add a dash of vinegar. the tang helps add the nacho cheese flavor.
I love this recipe and so happy you left the nooch out since it’s essentially MSG.
I noticed that as well... thanks! I didn't know that.
Are you talking about the nutritional yeast? Bc I was wondering about it not being mentioned..?
@@lbrown6859 Yes
Would this work with sweet potatoes too?
Kiki, is there no nutritional yeast in this cheese sauce, (like your original cheese sauce recipe?).
😋😋😋
Hi kiki thank you for this wonderful video love love ❤also can you do a video tutorial on how you make your corn tortillas chips so crispy😋🤪😊
yes I actually already posted one on my youtube shorts for it:)
Perfect thank you
@@PlantifulKiki does it matter what type of corn tortillas? Which ones you like the most?
I like smoky paprika in mine
How long does this keep in the fridge? Can it be frozen?
I made the regular cheese in my ninja but coukdnt get it smooth. Y is that?
Looks delicious. Are those low calorie chips? If so, what brand, please?
Yes I want to know what kind of chips as well
I believe she toast up fresh corn tortillas in oven to crisp up.
@@donnatecce1884 Thanks. I saw a short video she did later with the corn tortillas. Thanks for answering, I really appreciate that.
I’ve tried this recipe but it just gets super thick and pasty. What am I missing to make it into a sauce?
It’s hard to know how much jalapeños to add. I added two slices plus some juice and it wasn’t spicy enough for me. 😂 Also, should it be refrigerated? Thanks!
Nice recipe.
Is that too much salt?
I’ve done everything except the cashews to make the cheese.
Looks delicious… 🤤
You can buy raw unsalted cashews at Costco. They have the best price. You probably can buy them online as well
I want to make this, but do potatoes, carrots and cashews really end up tasting like cheese?
I have a question.... I have wondered about substituting sunflower seeds for the cashews. Has anyone tried this? I am deathly allergic to all tree nuts. But... would LOVE to try this!!!
With most recipes sunflower seeds are a great substitute for cashews.
@@SimplyAlign .... thank you, I will definitely try this!!
You can also use a can of cannellini beans instead of nuts or seeds. It gives it some creaminess but is much lower in fat!! Personally I prefer it without the nuts or beans, but that’s just me 😊
@@Hannah_theBrit Oh yes, I forgot. I love that suggestion, thanks for the reminder :)
does it matter the type of potato you use?
Good question, wondering the same
I used golden potatoes because the skin is softer and they have a different flavor. I also found I had to add nutritional yeast for my taste. I also used white beans (navy or cannellini beans instead of cashews). I play around with the amount of nutritional yeast and seasonings for my own taste.
i like golden because then I don't have to peel them
Is there supposed to be nutritional yeast in this recipe?
No. No.
So no nutritional yeast?
No cheese?!!?!?!! I must try!
Did you forget the nutritional yeast in video? Or did I miss it?!
So you do not add any nutritional yeast to this cheese recipe?
No nutritional yeast? I was thinking you put that in also?
No “nooch”? Interesting! Will have to try it!
Right! So how is it "cheesy"?
@straightedgeveganbel We will just have to try it out! And add nooch at end maybe, but I trust her generally.
@Theresa Doll yeah I thought maybe it was just left out of the video by accident or something🤷♀️
no I left it out on purpose:) I didnt think it needed it
@@PlantifulKiki great, thanks for letting us know. I had no idea it could be done without it, and look sooooo good!
you removed the nutritional yeast ??!
This doesn't have any nutritional yeast? Or did I miss something?
Tried this and it tasted weird and bland. Followed her recipe to a T as well. It wasnt yummy @ all. 😐
Well you're FAST! She just posted it...
I'm not sure how a sauce that contains salt, garlic powder, onion powder, jalapeno brine and jalapenos can be bland, but you can always add more of each, to taste...
Yeah, I personally changed some things up for my taste but found the primary thing to follow was the amount of potatoes and carrot and reserving the starchy water to be the necessary foundation. From there I subbed beans for nuts, added nutritional yeast and even a bit of vegan Worcestershire sauce or tamari and liquid smoke, etc.
Add roasted red pepper to it and a little bit of sriracha it is amazing!
@@lisasim she posted it on her social media 2 days ago ;)
@@lisasim This isnt the first time she posted this recipe you ding dong! I've followed her channel for awhile. Mmmmkay....😎
