Back where you found the robot from the early access beta, there was a precursor building that you could've mined for rare (and I do mean RARE), end-game build stuff, they're a must every time you see one of those odds structures! Oh and the whole Verdant Ruins is placed at this point in game on purpose - it's meant for you to explore first to very easily gather clues to the floran artifact without even space travel! I spoke with the Frackin Universe dev once, and he was really happy that I took my time to read the books on the mod's ultimate dungeon, the community is pretty chill! And BTW Do not eat the gregg heads!!! They're used for very....unsavory research later on!! And you're gonna need A LOT of them, specially for Kevin!
Frackin Universe made me play this game and actually commit to a playthrough. I set up my mod list to make it so I can plop aesthetically similar bases down, and staff them with personnel. Now I feel like a faction leader saving the universe. This vid helped me get past the story humps.
i perosnally really like fu, even the research tree. it really made me feel like a scientist exploring and inventing new things with how confusing it is at first and then methodical going forward. it really adds a lot of good stuff to starbound, so im glad you're playing it
It’s definitely really grown on me, I’m slowly starting to enjoy the research, I just wish it was just a bit more UI friendly so that Uber casuals could still easily get into FU
At first I hated it because, too much shit. And then after getting my inventory full of useless moonrocks from strip mining entire moons for fuel I realized that instead of throwing them to the trash, I can recycle them for more fuel. No raw material is completely useless in this mod.
Really enjoy this type of content. Great for putting on in either the main monitor or second monitor, no annoying “RUclipsr accent”, non clickbait thumbnail, great storytelling, and a nice job explaining the changes of the mod. Keep up the great work I look forward to seeing future content from you
This is so fun to watch. I really do think you'll get 500 days or more for this series. Also could you share all the mods you used for this playthrough?
I just a few days ago finally got starbound and I've legit been addicted. It's so relaxing to explore and just have fun. Found a staff that gives energy regen and it's so crazy nice
I suggest save human crop and head for madness research line (put them in Autopsy Table), if you want many meats that you can travel to Atropus planet harvest some flesh plant for build meat farm.
I very much enjoyed the base game video. You did a great job explaining as you went. Both hold true for the modded game video. I look forward to 200 days!
definitly should do a 200 days now after that sick teaser, also they did change the level designs to have more secrets but you'll find out more about that around the baron level, you'll see what I mean
Id love to see you build a station, including a settlement. Id also enjoy going through the Trirecorder quests as well as going in depth on the research trees.
You cant just leave us with the unbound teaser, we need a second episode! Also i find it hilarious that you did all of the base game in less than 100 days and here you just did the first two dungeons (first one being the mining facility), as far as the main story goes
Yeah I figured someone would notice that lol, I was very unfamiliar with a lot of FU changes so it took me much longer this time around to get through everything, I literally spent so much time on the wiki or researching lmao
interesting to see that starbound is getting some love. I have played it before religiously and I know it has its issues, idk if it updated but good to see some content about it. Also the video is good, the way you voiceover the events keeps me interested .
I'm watching the video right now, because I stumbled across your channel accidentally, and I've seen some basic stuff that you could change. For example: When playing with FU and RPG Growth, I reccomend you to use the class that has the most to do with your race bonuses. Which in your case was a floran, it'd be better to choose knight, rogue or ninja.
About the research, you can build computers to produce research, destroy certain objects like some small stone formations and such, which drops small amount of research. I m sure there is some other way, I would have to play it to recall, I think there was something about if you have a researcher crew member with you you get more research per some time. And the more you play to more research you gain as in, if you play over an hour you gain 2 research per some time instead of one. And lastly mage is the best class, you gain an acces to teleportation, flying, shield and low gravity spike sphere that drops bombs, for the secondary class i would go for jeweler to get acces to the jewelry which acts as upgrades to armor. Two anklets, two rings, two earpieces, a necklace, a belt and a watch, each of them offer some resistance or boost to your stats.
the extended story mod adds this semi-beginner weapon that uses tungsten and copper. its the tungsten chain gun weapon and it is VERY good at stun locking enemies
try next: 100 days in Starbound v. Beta Enraged Koala (as I remember), the last pure survival version of Starbound without any missions or instructions about what you have to do. Also many things changed, like, the universe was subdivided into sectors and the planets was completely random. To me was the best version of the game. [ed] I saw that you already know the beta, but yet...
I never played the Koala Builds, but I've always wanted to. Maybe I'll make a video on it if I could figure out a decent script. But I'm not the greatest at coming up with video ideas to be honest
My funny NPC quest interaction was tennant 1 getting a security camera for tennant 2, so they could borrow a security camera from tennant 2 and gift it to tennant 3
So happy to see new people playing Starbound, almost like a new generation, lol P. S. I'd really recommend you to play the Shellguard mod(maybe it's called Shellguard remastered), it's amazing
Frackin' is a very fun mod, until you get to That Part where you have to grind for that One Specific Item that can't be found anywhere else, it's also VERY easy to get lost doing something else, as you mentioned in the video lol
Its crazy to me that ive played starbound for over 300 hours and i still havent tried out any mods yet. This game just keeps getting better and better.
yooo another dompplays banger! i played FU only once, and was pretty disappointed because of the whole research mechanic, since it was super confusing, on top of that the controversy surrounding stolen mods, etc. however i must admit you made it seem more fun, enjoyed every second of watching. im looking forward to part 2
Yeah the research definitely drew me away at first, but once I learned it definitely wasn’t that bad. I wish the UI was better, but eh. And yeah the drama Id rather not bring light to, I think I’d only add fuel to the fire. But thank you for supporting :)
@@dompHD Yeah, sorry about the drama thing, just thought to bring it up randomly. Do keep up the good work, you make Starbound look way more entertaining
Loved the video, great content! I was surprised when I saw you only had 1.4k subscribers but I'm sure you'll get more quickly with the great content! Really enjoyed how you summarised the hundred days, but I think it felt a bit too tangential imo. Great stuff nonetheless, keep it up! You certainly gained a new subscriber if nothing else. I'm getting Starbound just from the video alone, would love if you did a 200 days!
That’s a good insight, I thought I was kinda rambling at times but wasn’t sure. I tried to do the opposite of last video and slow down, but I think there were more probably unnecessary tangents for sure so I’ll cut down on that next video hopefully
@@dompHD Largely it was fine from my perspective. It's great how you're trying new things and don't be afraid to try them. I don't think the slightly slower feel of the video was bad, but it definitely felt just that tiny bit too slow. Also, the tangents are largely fine every now and then because - at least I think - that it gives some level of personality both to you and the video. From my perspective there were just a few too many tangents focusing away from the main content, which is fine, but not everyone's piece of cake. Keep it up though, you're doing great!
Once you get strong enough and go to madness worlds, you can start delving into eldritch weapons and go on more mysterious cultist missions to fight the old gods.
In the Science Outpost, in the information booth, it said that you get more research by just exploring worlds, you get even more on high tier planets, so that's one way to farm research, another way that the info booth said is to make an early computer and research any junk weapons you find since it also gives you a good amount of research
i didn't know that someone will play starbound for a youtube video thats actully great to see someone who makes a starbound youtube video you get a sub from me
For 2 durasteel and 4 ice crystals you can make a 1 handed longsword called a Vai. When you upgrade it to max level it turns into the best one handed weapon in the game, so it's worth getting. The nightarian knife and shortsword also become very good when you upgrade them. If you are looking for something that aligns with the soldier class the laser rifle is incredibly powerful, I'm pretty sure at level 25 if you align with energy and put your stat points into dex (pretty sure that increases 2 handed gun damage) it can do over 75 damage per shot at max level.
Oh man, I miss good old Starbound. Thank you for the modpack, friend. I'll be getting back to it. About the two hundred days, you don't even need to ask, looking forward to it.
