I have the 2022.5 version of this exact same car. White with black edition/Bowers and Wilkins. The difference being it's still on Sensus rather than the Google based system and I have tailpipes visible where the 2023 doesn't. Since I got it in late 2022 I was able to get the full 7500 tax credit despite it being 60K since then MSRP limits didn't go into effect until January 2023. Really lucked out and it's a fantastic car.
No…a hybrid is NOT better than a full EV. More things to break and you are driving with extra weight when one method isn’t in use. It’s actually the WORST option to go hybrid. Go full EV or stick to gas.
@@CYCLEGAMER1 in areas where the infrastructure isn’t ready for full EVs. Hybrids like this are much better than gas cars and full electric cars. For daily commute you will spend little money on gas, and for longer trips you are covered by the gas tank. It is actually the most convenient option.
The apple carplay issue of not connecting could be because of the phone itself. Make sure to close all the apps and windows on your iPhone and try to see if it connects. It used to happen to me a lot.
Putting aside the comments here mostly from fans that can't afford an S60, if Volvo wants to increase sales they need to go a little more upmarket and put a V8 in this thing. That's the only way they're going to tempt me. The powertrain at the moment is like a no-win situation. When the ICE comes on it sounds awful, and with the battery it's fine, until you realize the resale value in a few year's time. What a shame. Such a beautiful vehicle, ruined by junk science ideology...
What in the piano black hell? Such a nice vehicle, that console would be lovely with satin stainless and vegan leather wraps and stitching. Scandinavian design should feel like home imo.
It still places too much emphasis on gasoline for my taste. Many PHEVs feature a robust engine but come with a disproportionately small battery and motor(s) considering the price, leading to a lackluster electric vehicle experience. In my opinion, the perfect PHEV strikes a balance between electric and gas power, without compromising on either. I find the Chevrolet Volt, Honda Clarity PHEV, and Toyota Prius Prime to be excellent examples of PHEVs that achieve this balance admirably. It is unfortunate that most PHEVs tend to prioritize gasoline and come with steep price tags.
You get 40 miles of EV range on a car that makes you smile. I've driven both the Volt and Clarity. I promise you, this is way better. The other two cars get 10 more miles of EV range, but they won't make you smile like this one.
I’d like to think so, maybe a plug in hybrid? When driving downhill, electric battery kicks in and recuperate the charge into the battery. It’s amazing watching how it works. It fluctuates between engine and electric depending on driving conditions so I’d think it’s worth it on the highway. Much better in the city, just driving around on electric only.
Probably not to the private buyer, they just cost too much and the real benefit is electric town driving. Here in the UK they are pretty much exclusively bought as company cars because the tax rates are so low. Currently driving a 530e and I love the electric driving around town but it runs out of charge so fast! I end up charging it using the engine whenever I'm on faster roads (so I've always got some charge for city driving) which drops the efficiency quite a bit. My 320i was about 20% more efficient on the motorway.
It is a shame Volvo's so uninspiring with their colour palate. When I ordered my V60 T8, there were like 7 colours available, but not the bursting blue metallic I'd have loved from the previous gen. 6 months later, they dropped all but 4 colours, and now they dropped all V60 recharges in general, but the Polestar trim.
I don’t understand why some one would get this instead of the polestar that is technically more cheaper without adding the rebate…. Gas /hybrid should technically be cheaper than electric not the other way around….
The Volvo S60 recharge or T8 will be a nightmare when it gets older. I am not sure of the reliability. I have recently driven the 2024 Volvo S60 B5 plus. It drove beautifully, and it was very quiet. The only thing i did not like was the stiff ride.
Volvo split the PHEV drivetrain off as it's own model, either the V60 recharge, and/or the V60 Polestar. Granted, the recharge is no more in Canada, so I'd not be surprised if they delisted it down south... Theyd much rather sell em in Europe.
EX90 has been announced but it is delayed due to software. EX30 will be announced June 7 .A new Volvo per year will be announced for the next few years. But, no more ICE/gas cars or hybrids. The all-news are BEV only.

Any turbo lag is non-existent. Second test at 4.35 seconds to 60, floored from a stop without brake-torquing, slightly uphill. Excellent throttle response, but soft suspension tuning. Sounds better than the previous T8. Not awful as a sports sedan, but nothing special either. Third test to 60 resulted in a 4.2 second 0-60 time, nearly matching the BMW M340i that he tested.
