My mod team will be diligently removing anything that comes under this definition. The 60fps mod was assumed to be a great idea but was not working well, so this is removed by Episode 4, we'll also go back to the proper font at the same time. The conversation camera mod might also be adjusted/removed later too...we'll see. Was happy to test these things out and regardless of some buggy activity here super happy and excited playing this game so far. As someone with well thousands of hours on Inquisition I recommend keeping the conversation cam mod and just adjusting maybe. Its imo the most important mod of any dragon age game.
I am pretty sure the bugs encountered are the mods fault. The vanilla game have very few bugs and hardly ANY in the initial hours. Probably some mods is not updated or just sloppily made. As always with complex games not mod friendly the least, the better. In fact DAI is one of those game that I played vanilla and found myself very okay with it. Never felt the need for any mod
yeah... classical. When Dark souls was ported on PC, it was unlocked to 60 fps, but the core beeing frame based it made everything buguy. Poeple assumed it was the port beeing poor, while it was just one mistake. Same for Dark Souls 2. Yep, switching to 60 fps when it is not made for it can be bad :)

LMAO that cut from playing with character creator starting at 27:20 the cut to 2 hours later and having a whole new character is the most relatable and HILARIOUS thing. I'm clipping that sequence and saving it for whenever I'm feeling down and need a good chuckle.
About the dates, Divine Justinia scheduled the conclave in the year 9:40, but the conclave itself took part in the year 9:41, it took almost a year to convince the leaders and everyone else to attend

the 60fps fix is 100% what caused the issues at the start of the game. the same exact thing happened to me, and then I looked it up and found out you shouldn't start using the fix until you get past the first cutscene. great video as always! I'm excited to see you experience this game for the first time :)
I can confirm. I am replaying this right now, and without any video altering mods, the game runs without any issues. I also hope someone recommended Mapo to use the Quicker Looting mod, it is such a big quality of life for this game. I guess we will find out on Sunday :)
Mapo, you're the best. You didn't have to stick to a promise you felt was implied, though. This is your character and your playthrough, and personally I'd be happy seeing you do whatever makes *you* happiest. We're just here to enjoy your experience.

God I remember when Inquisition dropped, feels like it's been ages. Hearing that menu music for the first time and seeing that menu screen always gives me chills. Your face when the building exploded was great, and I bet all of us looked much the same when that happened. I am INCREDIBLY excited that you chose a female elf mage of all things. Both the most lore heavy and the most frustrating choice for this game! This is going to be WILD!!
If you install mods into the game you are bound to have technical glitches, this is not the fault of the game. That said, it can be difficult to disregard first impressions.
Yeah, it's 100% the mods. This game runs very smoothly without. The 60fps mod is causing a bunch of issues. The font mod is concealing text. I don't know if he continues with these mods, but this start should indicate that it's a sketchy idea at best.

@@littlemouse7066 Yeah, maybe this isn't the place for this opinion, but I see that baseless snark frequently in these vids. It's why I don't follow the channel. I occasionally watch parts of a video if it pops up in my feed and catches my eye.
1) As has already been pointed out multiple times, it's setting cutscenes to 60fps that causes the bugs in the intro. What hasn't been mentioned yet is that there is also a specific cutscene in the Trespasser DLC that will completely freeze when having it set to 60fps. 2) Also, we're adding "lithe" to the list of words you don't know how to pronounce ;)
Mapo, I just want to thank you for helping us revive the unforgettable experience that was playing Inquisition for the first time. Personally, this game is very important to me, it helped me to see the other side of the coin in real situations with the mage and templar metaphor and I'm so happy that you can experience this too. Party banter tweeks was definitely a good idea. I remember paying this and my group being completely silent for sometimes an hour or more. The music often stops playing too. There's one place that I would just start playing my own music as the only sounds were my character grunt jumping. Glad you chose elf, definitely best for story imo, though I do love playing a Quanari woman.
My understanding of the timeline is that Divine Justinia began organizing the Conclave in 9:40, but the actual event and subsequent disaster at game start takes place in early 9:41, the current year. Loved the character creation, feel like this will definitely be a great LP! :)
Yup, checked on the wiki, and that's indeed how the timeline goes (with the vote to dissolve the Circle and the breakout of all-out war between the mages and templars happening one year before in 9:40, as told in the novel Asunder).
Yeah, you can call for a conclave, but it'll take time to organise! The dates only cover years, so one could have happened near the end of the first, and the second event near the start of the second.

The music is by Trevor Morris and hes done a lot of music for shows like Vikings, The Tudors and Borgias. He has a talent for creating music that suits the themes and time periods of the story. Im a huge fan lol
Your face when you realized Qunari was a also playable race. Priceless. My first DAI protag was a female Qunari so, for nostalgia reasons, I was really hoping you'd pick that. But Mapolas looks great, and there's really no wrong choice anyway (despite the fact a specific subset of DAI fans keep insisting on female elf's supremacy). OK I just got back from an exhausting week-long work conference and this was waiting for me??? Amazing timing, totally made my evening. I am so so so excited to see you experience this game, and SUPER excited you're playing a female elf. (Just my opinion but I think the 60fps/old DAO style text makes the game look a little janky and may be the cause of the bugs? Or it could be I'm so used to seeing it in the "vanilla" form that it looks weird to me lol. VERY happy you have a companion banter mod though because that's going to be so helpful).

I'm so excited you're finally starting your Dragon Age Inquisition journey, this is one of my most beloved games! And your first experience with the game is so relatable - pausing at the starting screen to appriciate the view and the music, admiring the art on the character cards (the Qunari lady? Hello?!? 👀), hating on hairstyles. I hope you'll find your playthrough just as fun and exciting as the previous two, watching you appreciate so many elements of the game and having fun with it is always the best part!

I have been a silent watcher of your content so far, but since this is the first episode of a LP that I have been dying for, let's break that streak. I am so exited for this. I so so hope that you'll enjoy this game as much as it's predecessors. It does have it's flaws, like any game, but I do truly think the story is worth sticking with it. I wish you fun and can't wait to see which paths you're gonna take in this. :D
Your add ons are probably what is causing the trouble in game with graphics. You really do not need them to play the game flawlessly, I never used any and had a very flawless experience.
And now we've arrived at my favorite Dragon Age game. Inquisition feels like when BioWare was able to really turn Dragon Age into the original IP they imagined. This is especially noticeable in the artstyle which is an evolution of Dragon Age 2 and a far cry from the muddy brown, "gritty" style of Origins. This is now THE look for the series going forward.
While I doubt they invited anyone from Tevinter or the Qun, the conclave would have had representatives from Orlais, Fereldan, Kirkwall, the Free Cities. Organizing that meeting and just sheer travel time for everyone to arrive would have taken a long while. Frankly I'm stunned that it only took one year to assemble a global medieval UN meeting between announcing it and it happening. I'm just impressed with Divine Justinia for that one.
this game is amazing! You are going to love it! Also the quality of it survived the time, I could say it got better. Time and perspective made Dragon Age Inquisition even better
Very excited for this! My favorite game from modern Bioware. The Origins font mod is probably causing the text to be too big. And I've also experienced the empty starting place glitch with certain mods installed, though I can't remember which. Bad luck to have all these glitches happening though. Hope for a smoother game later. One suggestion, never, ever ride the horse while exploring. It doesn't actually speed you up and it won't let you hear party banters.

Tbh the only lows for me are the side quests, crafting and the open world aspects of the game which I thought were handled terribly. The characters, dialogue, story, locations and world building on the other hand are for me some of the best in the entire series. this game also has probably one of the best dlcs I’ve ever played in any game and that would be trespasser.
I honestly can't stand the gameplay or quest design of Dragon Age Inquisition, but it's the last BioWare game where characters and dialogues simply blew me away. I'm excited to see you react to them
This game is one of the best BioWare games and does NOT need mods that say to improve stuff but only seem to utterly ruin the experience with glitches and texts that do longer fit in their boxes. Please do not insult the creators and play this as BioWare intended it.
yess !! my fav dragon age game (despite its faults, i adore it), and female elf mage is my canon inky for life lol. i choose to just replay my canon lavellan each time i go through a replay of the games, because im so attached to her.

Tbh he did a good job of making a decent looking character, every time I try to make a character in this game it always looks like someone’s bashed them of the head with a baseball bat so I always look on RUclips for a good look character.

At last. We have arrived. Over half a year of a deep dive into the Dragon Age universe by our bearded balded Mapo has led to Inquisition. So psyched, hope you have a blast! I know I will.
It's difficult to express without spoilers what I am most excited for, so I will just say, that I'm looking forward to Mapo's reaction when he meets each of the major characters (companions and NPCs) in the game for the first time, and also to his reaction to different locations.
One of my first times commenting in a long while, and I'm a bit nervous ^_^'' But I just had to say that I'm so glad I found your channel and have been enjoying your content immensely, especially your Bioware experiences. Your love of the lore and the world of Thedas is genuinely an amazing part of your playthroughs. You're one, if the only one, player of these games who I've seen stop and just EXPERIENCE the world and read the codex entries and let it all soak in, and that is just so amazing. I don't know if anyone's let you know of the 2 volumes of books called "The World of Thedas", but I imagine you'd find them interesting to read or look into if you wanted. They're giant lore dumps that have a chunk of the codex entries as well as a plethora of new content that is like a Thedas textbook--from past events, to the sermons of the Chantry, even diving into some of the worlds of the different races and their history in Thedas. It's even got recipes for dishes found in the world XD There are some inconsistencies (as we've come to expect with such an expansive universe) but overall it's a MUST for people who love to immerse themselves in this world even further outside the games. Though, if you are interested, definitely finish playing the game first as spoilers are abound in parts of it!! Anyway! That's me rambling ha! I'm glad to see you got the game working after a bit! This game, to me, is the hardest to mod in the series, and have the mods just...WORK...y'know. Bluh. :T Unfortunately, the hairstyles definitely made me do so off the bat because, yeh, they're not so great. It's too bad you couldn't install some cosmetic mods without spoiling yourself to see if they worked or not. Darn these fair, hairless elves! *shakes fist* BUT! It's great to see you play a female elf mage in the end, even though you didn't have to stick with what you promised--it's your game and your rules, after all! Still, it's definitely a great choice for a first playthrough and to soak up more of that elven lore, for sure! Looking forward to seeing more of this game, and hope you enjoy the wild ride! :D
This is so cool to watch. As a true Dragon Age nerd (3 000+ hours in Inquisition alone, the game I have played the least...) since the day Origins was released I love watching people ecperience "my love" for the first time. Your reaction to the intro took me right back to the release and when I saw the intro screen for the first time. And how good it really is. Edit with a fun fact: The American Male Inquisitor voice is the same voice actor as Zevran (Jon Curry). Even knowing it I still can't hear it..

Also played a female elfen mage in Inquisition. Such a stereotype, but in fact I never played one before in any other game. I did not regret my choice. I hope you will have a lot of fun and looking forward to this journey.
I woke up and saw this notification, and hummed the main menu theme while I took a shower. The music is a banger in this game, and I will wager that this playthrough will rival Elden Ring's in length. I hope to be here for all of it
The art on those starting cards is gorgeous, but you might want to go back and look at the one for the nightmare difficulty though. The character has some rather distinct armour you might recognise from a certain DA:O Grey Warden.
Idk who suggested 60fps mod, honestly, it runs just fine with basic settings without this mod had no problems or bugs with the game without these type mods, just party banter and that's all as for approval, there is one in the game, companions have it, but this time the bar is hidden so that it would be more difficult for the players to game the system
This was my first Dragon Age game, (need to play the first two One Day!) and I had so much fun. Epic music, cool story, epic art-style, fun to explore and chat with our npc friends. I was a female Elf XD...but yeah, the hairstyles suck lol
I'm so glad you stop to appreciate the art. DAI art style is so beautiful and rich, and it's still influential to this day, now and then you see artists doing tarot-card like art pieces influenced by this style. It's amazing! 😍 Also love that you're playing an elven mage this time!
Omg I am so excited for this playthrough! Quick gameplay tip- if you ever need your characters to hold position, make sure to use the “tactical pause” first *then* hold position. For some reason they don’t listen as well if you don’t pause first 🤷🏻♀️
Inquisition is very much a hit or miss game for me, some parts of it are amazing, some parts of it I genuinely hate, so I am curious about how you will approach this thing, and to see your theories and such I will also note that both Qunari (Mage especially) and Elf (Once again, mage especially) are some of the most interesting ways of playing this game, so good choice there Also what the hell was that glitch lol, I have NEVER seen that happen, and I played/saw Inquisition a good few times, that's bizzare

Qunari Mage was a great way to introduce myself to the Dragon Age series.

That glitch of being stuck in the Fade after character creation also happened to me the first four or five times before it finally worked properly.
Female elf mage I'm laughing so hard. Didn't expect it, but truly it's the way to have the most dragon age inquisition experience.

It's just for the cutscenes. They run at 30fps.

Personally, this game is very important to me, it helped me to see the other side of the coin in real situations with the mage and templar metaphor and I'm so happy that you can experience this too.

The conclave was called in 9:40, but happened in 9:41. Things take time it isn't anything more :D
Party banter tweeks was definitely a good idea. I remember paying this and my group being completely silent for sometimes an hour or more. The music often stops playing too. There's one place that I would just start playing my own music as the only sounds were my character grunt jumping.
Glad you chose elf, definitely best for story imo, though I do love playing a Quanari woman.
My understanding of the timeline is that Divine Justinia began organizing the Conclave in 9:40, but the actual event and subsequent disaster at game start takes place in early 9:41, the current year.

Yup, checked on the wiki, and that's indeed how the timeline goes (with the vote to dissolve the Circle and the breakout of all-out war between the mages and templars happening one year before in 9:40, as told in the novel Asunder).
Yeah, you can call for a conclave, but it'll take time to organise! The dates only cover years, so one could have happened near the end of the first, and the second event near the start of the second.

Those bugs happened during cutscenes.. I think the problem is the 60-fps mod. The cutscenes were only made originally with 30 fps in mind

The music is by Trevor Morris and hes done a lot of music for shows like Vikings, The Tudors and Borgias. He has a talent for creating music that suits the themes and time periods of the story. Im a huge fan lol

Your face when you realized Qunari was a also playable race. Priceless. My first DAI protag was a female Qunari so, for nostalgia reasons, I was really hoping you'd pick that. But Mapolas looks great, and there's really no wrong choice anyway (despite the fact a specific subset of DAI fans keep insisting on female elf's supremacy).

Just to clear things up: Justinia _called_ for a summit in 940, but the Conclave itself occured in year 941.

(Just my opinion but I think the 60fps/old DAO style text makes the game look a little janky and may be the cause of the bugs? Or it could be I'm so used to seeing it in the "vanilla" form that it looks weird to me lol. VERY happy you have a companion banter mod though because that's going to be so helpful).
(Yeah, I've never seen the game be visually this buggy, pretty sure it has to be the cause)

I have been a silent watcher of your content so far, but since this is the first episode of a LP that I have been dying for, let's break that streak. I am so exited for this. I so so hope that you'll enjoy this game as much as it's predecessors. It does have it's flaws, like any game, but I do truly think the story is worth sticking with it. Your add ons are probably what is causing the trouble in game with graphics. You really do not need them to play the game flawlessly, I never used any and had a very flawless experience.

And now we've arrived at my favorite Dragon Age game. Inquisition feels like when BioWare was able to really turn Dragon Age into the original IP they imagined. This is especially noticeable in the artstyle which is an evolution of Dragon Age 2 and a far cry from the muddy brown, "gritty" style of Origins. This is now THE look for the series going forward.
While I doubt they invited anyone from Tevinter or the Qun, the conclave would have had representatives from Orlais, Fereldan, Kirkwall, the Free Cities. Organizing that meeting and just sheer travel time for everyone to arrive would have taken a long while.
Frankly I'm stunned that it only took one year to assemble a global medieval UN meeting between announcing it and it happening.
I'm just impressed with Divine Justinia for that one.

The Origins font mod is probably causing the text to be too big. And I've also experienced the empty starting place glitch with certain mods installed, though I can't remember which. Bad luck to have all these glitches happening though. Hope for a smoother game later.
One suggestion, never, ever ride the horse while exploring. It doesn't actually speed you up and it won't let you hear party banters.

Can"t wait to see the adventures of Mapolas. Inquisition has some lows, but its highs are so great that I think you will enjoy it massively.
Tbh the only lows for me are the side quests, crafting and the open world aspects of the game which I thought were handled terribly. The characters, dialogue, story, locations and world building on the other hand are for me some of the best in the entire series. this game also has probably one of the best dlcs I’ve ever played in any game and that would be trespasser.

I honestly can't stand the gameplay or quest design of Dragon Age Inquisition, but it's the last BioWare game where characters and dialogues simply blew me away. I'm excited to see you react to them

This game is one of the best BioWare games and does NOT need mods that say to improve stuff but only seem to utterly ruin the experience with glitches and texts that do longer fit in their boxes. Please do not insult the creators and play this as BioWare intended it.

Tbh he did a good job of making a decent looking character, every time I try to make a character in this game it always looks like someone’s bashed them of the head with a baseball bat so I always look on RUclips for a good look character.

At last. We have arrived. Over half a year of a deep dive into the Dragon Age universe by our bearded balded Mapo has led to Inquisition.

It's difficult to express without spoilers what I am most excited for, so I will just say, that I'm looking forward to Mapo's reaction when he meets each of the major characters (companions and NPCs) in the game for the first time, and also to his reaction to different locations.

One of my first times commenting in a long while, and I'm a bit nervous ^_^'' But I just had to say that I'm so glad I found your channel and have been enjoying your content immensely, especially your Bioware experiences. Your love of the lore and the world of Thedas is genuinely an amazing part of your playthroughs. You're one, if the only one, player of these games who I've seen stop and just EXPERIENCE the world and read the codex entries and let it all soak in, and that is just so amazing. I don't know if anyone's let you know of the 2 volumes of books called "The World of Thedas", but I imagine you'd find them interesting to read or look into if you wanted. They're giant lore dumps that have a chunk of the codex entries as well as a plethora of new content that is like a Thedas textbook--from past events, to the sermons of the Chantry, even diving into some of the worlds of the different races and their history in Thedas. It's even got recipes for dishes found in the world XD There are some inconsistencies (as we've come to expect with such an expansive universe) but overall it's a MUST for people who love to immerse themselves in this world even further outside the games. Though, if you are interested, definitely finish playing the game first as spoilers are abound in parts of it!!
Anyway! That's me rambling ha! I'm glad to see you got the game working after a bit! This game, to me, is the hardest to mod in the series, and have the mods just...WORK...y'know. Bluh. :T Unfortunately, the hairstyles definitely made me do so off the bat because, yeh, they're not so great. It's too bad you couldn't install some cosmetic mods without spoiling yourself to see if they worked or not. Darn these fair, hairless elves! *shakes fist* BUT! It's great to see you play a female elf mage in the end, even though you didn't have to stick with what you promised--it's your game and your rules, after all! Still, it's definitely a great choice for a first playthrough and to soak up more of that elven lore, for sure! Looking forward to seeing more of this game, and hope you enjoy the wild ride! :D

This is so cool to watch. As a true Dragon Age nerd (3 000+ hours in Inquisition alone, the game I have played the least...) since the day Origins was released I love watching people ecperience "my love" for the first time. Your reaction to the intro took me right back to the release and when I saw the intro screen for the first time. And how good it really is.
Edit with a fun fact: The American Male Inquisitor voice is the same voice actor as Zevran (Jon Curry). Even knowing it I still can't hear it..

yeah, DAI is famous with its bad hairstyles. I've never seen those bugs after character creation, must be the mods, sad that it ruined the expirience.. I think the cutscenes mod is too bugy

Also played a female elfen mage in Inquisition. Such a stereotype, but in fact I never played one before in any other game. I did not regret my choice. I hope you will have a lot of fun and looking forward to this journey.

The art on those starting cards is gorgeous, but you might want to go back and look at the one for the nightmare difficulty though.
The character has some rather distinct armour you might recognise from a certain DA:O Grey Warden.
Idk who suggested 60fps mod, honestly, it runs just fine with basic settings without this mod
had no problems or bugs with the game without these type mods, just party banter and that's all
as for approval, there is one in the game, companions have it, but this time the bar is hidden so that it would be more difficult for the players to game the system

This was my first Dragon Age game, (need to play the first two One Day!) and I had so much fun.
Epic music, cool story, epic art-style, fun to explore and chat with our npc friends. I was a female Elf XD...but yeah, the hairstyles suck lol

I'm so glad you stop to appreciate the art. DAI art style is so beautiful and rich, and it's still influential to this day, now and then you see artists doing tarot-card like art pieces influenced by this style. It's amazing! 😍 Also love that you're playing an elven mage this time!

Yeah I always have to install mods for new hairstyles and better hair textures so I can look at my character without cringing lol

Quick gameplay tip- if you ever need your characters to hold position, make sure to use the “tactical pause” first *then* hold position. For some reason they don’t listen as well if you don’t pause first 🤷🏻♀️
I've played this game for many many hours and i too just sit at the main menu "Click to continue" screen to just admire the screen and music. 😂
Inquisition is very much a hit or miss game for me, some parts of it are amazing, some parts of it I genuinely hate, so I am curious about how you will approach this thing, and to see your theories and such
I will also note that both Qunari (Mage especially) and Elf (Once again, mage especially) are some of the most interesting ways of playing this game, so good choice there
Also what the hell was that glitch lol, I have NEVER seen that happen, and I played/saw Inquisition a good few times, that's bizzare
