Renée I would put the empty cassette cases out labled as empty, someone may have the tape but no case...if they dont sell take out the cover art, set it aside and recycle the cases that way. The cover art may speak to someone later down the line. So excited for more trash bags!! You could do the same with the vhs art if the cassette isnt in there. Give it a shot, ya never know. It's so nice to see you so happy Renée! You so deserve it 💓

You should get some business cards and when you are out there, leave a few cards at houses near where you are stopped. You may get a house or even just a basement or attic clean out. Or maybe you connect up with some real estate agents.

I used to work for a dog rescue group and came up with the same idea, A5 flyers explaining what we were all about and what we wanted to take away for fundraising. We got good responses which allowed us to fill vehicles, sort through, clean up and then do the markets close by. It was a good way of making badly needed funds. You can target the areas you think will be lucrative if you like but having said that we did it before letterboxes became filled with junk mail so it might not be so successful these days, at least in the UK that is. No harm in trying though.

Bruce's Spit Mix tape songs are all part of the first days of early MTV in 1982. And Pet Sounds is, IMO, the best album by the Beach Boys. What a great bag! And also...Scooby Doo! LOL!
I love trash picking videos! Herbie Hancock did the theme song to Beverly Hills Cop. Axle F was the song. That mix tapes with Duran Duran! So similar to so many that I had. The struggle of that perfect mix tape! LOL. I had a Van Halen and Michael Jackson cassette tapes that were in Spanish. That trash bag is my adolescent/teenage years! Oh how I love the feeling of nostalgia. Thank you for taking us on this journey :)

Before my folks retired, they used to clean houses for another source of income. In one of the houses they had cleaned, the homeowner wanted everything in the home thrown out and cleaned since they'd already moved out and was selling the place. My folks found stacks of GOLD and Silver coins in a box - most of it was in booklets and plastic covers.. I was in high school then but I knew the value of precious metals and told them to hold on to them if they did not need the money.. Unfortunately, they sold it since they value PAPER money more.. They sold it to some local gold dealer/shop for a little over $5K during that time... circa 1995-96.

Mix tapes!! Oh, those were the days! 😍
I can remember when I was a kid, we would make our own "mix tapes" by setting our Transistor Radio right next to the big black cassette recorder. Those were great times.
If we wanted to get a particular song on our tape, we would have to call the radio station request line and beg the DJ to play the song. Then we had to wait for it come over the airwaves.
You need to make a kit to keep in your car with you...tape, hammer, screw driver, paper towels...things the pros need...lol....good finds today
Does any remember back in the 90's you could join cassette tape clubs, where you could buy tapes cheap ? That is the memory that comes to my mind with this trash bag, and yes I was a member once .

Yay... I love the garbage bag saves! I suggest selling the Disney VHS tapes all in set. Of course after you pull out any that are worth being sold singly. I also have created art just with the paper covers from the VHS cases. So, you could sell just part and it would be cheap to ship those.

I’d find a VHS player and binge watch all that stuff. My kids loved Big Comfy Couch. Their dad would have them pick up toys in Lonettes “ten second tidy”. Kids tv was better then.

Awww my baby used to love the Big Comfy Couch we even got her the doll Molly for her birthday. She is 16 now. Brings back good memories.

This trash bag was different from your other ones from the "Original Trash Bag House". BUT, these bag was still neat. My youngest kids LOVED The Brave Little Toaster and they now have kids of their own that now love it too!! I Love POLLYANNA !! I never get tired of it!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!

You might check signage on the street Donation Bins . . a lot of them say “Clothing Only”, and many toss anything that isn’t clothes or shoes. They will often give you the other.

Perhaps consider getting business cards for people doing cleanups to contact?
Use VHS tape boxes as keepsake boxes, discard the video and use some of the cases on a bookshelf would look great with the "vintage" artwork

I think some of these older tapes, cassettes etc are sort of in between being " let's fet rid of these" thinking and " old, vintage collectibles." Good score Renee! 😃
My favorite videos. I enjoy the trash bag treasures. Still a big market for videos, so maybe a good deal. I like dvds simply because they take up less room.

So sad that the community doesn't have a focus of not putting non trash items the garbage.
My community makes great effort to have residents take usable items to reuse centers.

The Big Comfy Couch was a PBS show my girls watched in the late 90’s. I think it was PBS.
It's a Canadian production, like me :) Yes it did air on PBS and I still have a molly dolly and a couple dust bunnies

The Brave Little Toaster was my sons favorite movie when he was little (he will be 31 in March). We would watch it over and over and over.

So many familiar VHS tapes, my guess is that there is a 20-something connected with those. Check those on ebay! I get a little creeped out with trash bags, I watch with this face😬. LOL!

Hi Renée, you’ve got a lot of good tapes.. I’ve been to 3 Paul McCartney concerts and I’ve gone to the Cavern 3 times . Went on the Mystery Magical Tour in Liverpool so awesome. I’ve seen a lot of Beatle memorabilia in Liverpool. Going there in September if possible. It’s good to shop there...I enjoyed your time that you shared with us. Had the Wedding Song at our wedding in 1982. Wedding was very nice...marriage, not so much.

Love The Brave Little Toaster. Back when I was younger, I got rid of all my cassettes that I had made of music from records that my friend had. I saved money by only having to buy the cassette tapes instead of $13,00 to $19.00 and album. You are correct that it took a bit of skill in timing the hit record and put down the needle on the record combo. Glad you found the Beatles tapes to that set. So often the tapes are left out and get damaged. nice finds. You are so lucky in the Northeast or North MidAtlantic rather . Here in Central NC we do not have bulk waste pick up so I rarely see things on the streetside or in peoples trash. I can't imagine what is in the cans. I do look a bit at dumpsters at apartment buildings and have found a few vintage items. I'm also a scrapper so I look for metal. cheers!

Same with my son. Plus I enjoyed it too so was willing to fund the addiction. LOL All the VHS tapes are at Grandma's house now. The youngest grandchildren enjoy watching the VHS tapes that the older grandchildren enjoyed.
I’d love to find a bunch of old vhs tapes that were used for recording purposes. And get a vcr and watch them, do some video archeology.

I bet in those magazines you'll find some great photos to use as background in your photo videos, as long as you can scan them. Now the garbage bags...let the fun begin!! Mary Poppins and beach boys,...and Hair! First bag...succes!!!
