IMO Oxide Station is the worst track in the game. - Its long and Boring - No shortcuts whatsoever - The bumpy-ness of the track makes it incredibly difficult not to lose speed, - Collision on the side of the track when landing from ramps can have you clip off.
I'd say this list is fair. I agree with everything other than maybe Inferno Island. I think visually it's so good it makes it fun to race on. Not too bad imo. But I can't think of a stage to replace it with. edit: Android Alley
Lol. I was literally saying to myself: *Dragon Mines better be in here.* And it got number 1. I swear that spiral feels so much tougher to handle than in the original. 😁
In the original, you could jump-bounce off the wall and not lose major speed. Now, you gotta do it the hard way. I'm not complaining. Beating Oxide made me learn that track down to a tee.
Not on the list, but I think Oxide Station is the worst. It's fine if you're racing (unless some asshole places an item on the jump ramp, leaving you in dead last), but the Time Trial mode for this...god DAMN!!!
5:35 consistent honey, either you like stuff going on or not. I mean Dragon Mines is annoying but it's iconic, Meteor Gorge, Barin Ruins and Inferno Island are very forgetable so it's ok. Turbo Track should be number one, because there's a major track design flaw. Also CNK music? wtf? they were sleeping or something? the GBA version has better music.
I disagree with Barin Ruins and Meteor Gorge. They are fun to play given they don't present hazards (asides of the player-activated boulder in Meteor Gorge), and their easy layouts provide players for a fun time at building and maintaining boost fires. My personal least favorite tracks in the game are Sewer Speedway (broken physics), Turbo Track (pace-breaking S-turn), Dingo Canyon (hazards and bad physics in the water bit), Dragon Mines (hazards and tight corkscrew turn), Cortex Castle (hazards), and Out of Time (bland without anti-gravity clock.)
Huh, I think Out of Time is great. It features two of the most important shortcuts on any race, and a fairly hard-to-maintain blue fire. It is curious that they removed the sand worm hazard though. My only qualm is some obnoxious rock piles near the start of the race, under the rock arch you can cut through. The anti-gravity clock is a neat set piece, but it doesn't really add anything to the actual gameplay of the map.
I Disagree with Inferno Island, Meteor George and Barin Ruins. But oh my god I couldn't agree more with turbo track and dragon mines. Those 2 tracks can burn in hell
Dragon Mines and Turbo Track are very simple tracks, each with 1 section that requires skills. Most of the people who can U-turn consistently enjoy these tracks.
I have some thoughts! *Barin Ruins* I think is a good track overall, but the art direction does let it down. The pink doesn't do it any favours and it has a problem with contrast that makes it look very flat. *Meteor Gorge* I actually really like, it's a nice breather from the more complicated courses without being as simple as Coco Park, and it has better contrast than Barin Ruins. *Inferno Island* I feel suffers because it is a blatant copy of Crash Cove, but is even simpler than that track so it doesn't compare well. Other than that it isn't bad for me, just really uninteresting and unnecessary. *Turbo Track* I think is an okay track, I feel the triple hairpin is really so that leads don't become TOO enormous. But I agree that it takes a good while to figure out how you're supposed to take those turns. *Dragon Mines* I feel is a deserved entry, but purely for its latter half with the corkscrew and the wooden pillars. The first half is actually not that bad IMO!
Mostly disagree, I would say Oxide Station is the worst, if your hit at the jump after the one in space, you fall down on the track before the loop leading up to the space jump & have to go around again. This has happened with such consistancy online that I can not support this track as it currently stands.
I hate dingo canyon, oxide station, and dragon mines due to lack of drifting. Meteor gorge and barin ruins are some of my faves cuz the drifting is amazing and so simple
For me it's Dragon Mines, Slide Coliseum, Thunderstruck, Sewer Speedway And Turbo track Although i don't actually hate any of them and would race on all the tracks Slide and turbo are just Too boring and plain. Sewer Speedway is broken in places including the shortcut and loss of momentum. Thunderstruck has some very frustrating sections when playing online due to how narrow parts are and the swinging Maces. And Dragon Mines is Dragon Mines it was never liked mostly due to the spiral corner that takes all your momentum
I used to not like Slide Coliseum back in PS1, but now I now understand to take the "slide" far beyond the tracks, even into the grass, and the input gymnastic required makes it honestly really fun to me,also has fun jumps despite being a flat track with no gaps. Sewer Speedway makes me sad because it was fun in the original
@@ClassicGamerX11 You can time going through the maces but it's really hard and inconsistent. Just how Sewer speedway's shortcut sometimes work and sometimes doesn't
@Crystal Phoenix Maintain SF from the turbo pad in the track, then on the second lap, take the shortcut while jumping through it. You'll be sonic out this bitch!
5. Sewer Speedway 4. Blizzard Bluff 3. Oxide Station 2. Turbo Track 1. Dragon Mines Only CNK maps I'm not too fond of are Meteor Gorge and Barin Ruins, but that's purely from aesthetics.
I like Barin Ruins and Meteor Gorge a lot. Sure, they don't have much in them, but that works in their favor as you can optimize power slides and the shortcuts to the max. And what about freaking Cortex Castle? That track is the father of all speed killers ever!
I was lucky enough to get oxides trial on dragon mines in 15 minutes or so. The only track in the game that gave me trouble was sewer speedway which took about 2 hours
This is a really interesting list. I love the first 4 choices. But dragon mines? Really? I get why you hate it but I honestly really like the design overall.
Top 5 tracks I hate. Coco park. Dragon Mines The Spyro track. Yes spyro fan boys it ain’t good. Turbo track Slide Coliseum Honorable mention to Retro Stadium Dingo Canyon
Agree on most, but Turbo Track is amongst my top 10 favourite tracks because of the part you described. Why? Because when you know how to work it, it's an advantage against other racers.
My. Worst are turbo track dragon Mines Tiny arena Oxford station and last but not least Cocoa Park My best are drive-through danger koala carnival electron Avenue polar pass and Engine laps Also my favourite character is fake crash and my least favourite is baby cocoa
I hate Dragon Mines and Crash Cove. Dragon mines because I don't think it's well designed and Crash Cove because it's the hardest track on hard mode and one of the hardest time trials despite the fact that it's the first track in the game. It took me ages to get passed it on hard mode, but then I breezed through the rest of them wth game.
5. Assembly Lane Really long and drab to look at. Effectively just becomes N.Gin Labs in the last section. Beats out Inferno Island because it's longer. 4. Dingo Canyon Absolutely can't stand the water section or the armadillos. 3. Oxide Station A very long track with no shortcuts and little room to maneuver makes this track, especially online, a steamroll win or defeat based on how well placed items are to mess up your day. 2. Dragon Mines The spiral really does speak for itself. 1. Tiger Temple A track that favours RNG over skill is never a good track. Whilst it was clearly originally built to give you an edge over AI competition, the forward-throwing shortcut is damn near a requirement to have any hope of winning an online game. Let's be real though, with items balanced for a rubber-banding AI and dodgy sync issues, can we truly say any one track is bad when online is so hilariously broken?
Tiger temple is a good track overall, the game is not just on line. But I couldnt agree more about Dingo Canyon. Must be one of the tracks I hate the more with Inferno Island
@@carachamadofinger4640 and it is very hard to mantain sacred fire because the only useful turbo pad is in a very narror 90 degree turn. Yet people love it and hate other tracks that have turns or few turbo pads

I love Barin Ruins and Meteor Gorge but I really dislike Electron Avenue. I just don't like the layout and aesthetic of it. Finally, the less said about Dragon Mines, the better.
What's bad about Electron Avenue? Almost every turbo pad gives you blue flame and it's incredibly satisfying using the u turns to make tight turns. Not to mention drift boosting works splendid here. The music and aesthetic is fun and exciting too!
@@heldon7951 Not really sure but I'm just not keen on it. It just doesn seem to 'flow' as well as the tracks I enjoy. I mean, I may come to like it once I get good enough to sustain USF for most of the lap but I'm only at the stage of being able to consistently chain 3 boosts at the moment. I still can't get the hang of those hop-brake u-turns yet either, but I'm sure they will come with practice :)
I actually agree with you on all these tracks, especially Dragon Mines with its cork screw turn. I don't remember that corner being so bad in the original. Problem is, in the new one, any corner you hit slows you massively.
My personal worst is dragon mines. Mostly cuz I've only been able to successfully do that upwards spriral turn once. In the probably 40 times I've played it I have yet to get the platinum relic and oxide time trial on dragon mines.

Turbo Track- The tight turns sections require mastering U Turning and can be fun but is also a poorly designed section in both CTR and here. Ironically still love this map. 4. Barin Ruins- The turns are really tight and the shortcut is doable if you can keep speed. Still can be easily mastered and is fun. 3. Mystery Caves- A very poorly designed map compared to the original with the turtles hindering instead of helping runs. Still very fun. 2. Sewer Speedway- The shortcut is ruined and the walls are no longer hidden speed enhancers if driven through correctly like the original. Still the tighter turns do help with mastering Sacred Fire. 1. Dragon Mines- I actually enjoy all maps including this one but this is undoubtedly the most poorly designed map due to the spiral and pointless shortcut unless you can keep Sacred Fire or get a mask. This map is universally seen as the worst and for good reason. Do love the design though.

In the original, you could jump-bounce off the wall and not lose major speed. Now, you gotta do it the hard way. I'm not complaining. Beating Oxide made me learn that track down to a tee.
Barin Ruins, I could FLY through that course just like Deep Sea Driving.
I like Dragon Mines, just the corkscrew part bothers me.
Not on the list, but I think Oxide Station is the worst. It's fine if you're racing (unless some asshole places an item on the jump ramp, leaving you in dead last), but the Time Trial mode for this...god DAMN!!!
I liked meteor gorge before everyone worked out the shortcut because it was an easy win.
Everybody gangsta till Megamix starts tearing up the race track
The lack of Sewer Speedway is baffling. That track is outright broken with the new physics.
The top 2 is just a matter of getting good at sharp tuns and avoiding obstacles, nothing more :)
They are masterful tracks :)
The oxide time trial for dragon mines nearly made my head explode
Shout out to my bois who like Dragon Mines like I do. All 1% of us!
#4/#5 are great tracks imo...once you really get the u turn tech down #1/#2 become much more fun
springboob squirepin Skill or not, there’s a reason people despise dragon mines. Turbo track I agree with
I disagree with Barin Ruins and Meteor Gorge. They are fun to play given they don't present hazards (asides of the player-activated boulder in Meteor Gorge), and their easy layouts provide players for a fun time at building and maintaining boost fires.
My personal least favorite tracks in the game are Sewer Speedway (broken physics), Turbo Track (pace-breaking S-turn), Dingo Canyon (hazards and bad physics in the water bit), Dragon Mines (hazards and tight corkscrew turn), Cortex Castle (hazards), and Out of Time (bland without anti-gravity clock.)
new Dingo Canyon is harder due to the new lighting and muted colors of the armadillos
I CANT SEE THAT FINAL ARMADILLO
Huh, I think Out of Time is great. It features two of the most important shortcuts on any race, and a fairly hard-to-maintain blue fire. It is curious that they removed the sand worm hazard though. My only qualm is some obnoxious rock piles near the start of the race, under the rock arch you can cut through.
The anti-gravity clock is a neat set piece, but it doesn't really add anything to the actual gameplay of the map.
@@Ryuhza, perhaps. Maybe I was a bit too hard on Out of Time as it's a fun track with or without the clock.
Ikr
If you know how to u-turn you can scrap the top 2 tracks off this list
Oxide Station, lack of drifting... We on the same track?
@@Taser9001 its just so cramped, only the beginning is good for drifting
I hated Oxide Station at first, but it's really satisfying when you can maintain blue fire. It's just really tricky
@@nashthrashington9749 very tricky
For me it's Dragon Mines, Slide Coliseum, Thunderstruck, Sewer Speedway And Turbo track
Although i don't actually hate any of them and would race on all the tracks Slide and turbo are just Too boring and plain.
Thunder Struck is really hard to keep blue fire on
Spyro Fury Yeah it’s probably my weakest track. Because I either fly off or get hit by a swinging mace.
Dragon Mines is a good track: Change my Mind.
In terms of it looking beautiful, it's good. But is it a track we'd rather race in, nope
@@thiccgurllover3684 It's a track I'd rather race in :D
@@thiccgurllover3684 I dont get all the hate for Dragon Mines. It's called having ability.
@Crystal Phoenix same to you
@Crystal Phoenix Maintain SF from the turbo pad in the track, then on the second lap, take the shortcut while jumping through it. You'll be sonic out this bitch!
Dragon mines would have been fantastic without that turn
5. Sewer Speedway
4. Blizzard Bluff
3. Oxide Station
2. Turbo Track
1. Dragon Mines
Only CNK maps I'm not too fond of are Meteor Gorge and Barin Ruins, but that's purely from aesthetics.
Why you hate my track?
4:15 *Air break exist*
Airbreak: Am I joke to you?
Not to mention that beating Oxide's record on Dragon Mines was a pain to complete.
Joshua Focht if you know the U-turn mechanic Oxide ain’t even a factor
Don’t have any that I hate really other than tiny arena
I don't agree with every pick you choose but most of them were spot on like dragon mines
5:00 That was Rob Titus. I might have to ask him myself because I spent all of last night trying to beat the time trial on this thing...
I like Barin Ruins and Meteor Gorge a lot. Sure, they don't have much in them, but that works in their favor as you can optimize power slides and the shortcuts to the max. And what about freaking Cortex Castle? That track is the father of all speed killers ever!
If you practice enough you can easily keep your speed by U-turning on Cortex Castle, it's actually my favorite track
@@HeavyRaiden I can do the U turn every now and then, but the amount required in this track makes it more stressful than fun.
@@VixYW I recommend to not use an advanced character, keeping the USF with them can be tough.
I remember having no trouble at all with dragon mines in the original... now that corkscrew gets me every time
I've already done the N. Trophy Time Trials for these and the platinum relics, wish me luck with the Oxide times.
You will learn to hate Dragon Mines.
@@clownymoosebean I just tried and failed to do the Oxide challenge today, and you're right!
I was lucky enough to get oxides trial on dragon mines in 15 minutes or so. The only track in the game that gave me trouble was sewer speedway which took about 2 hours
@@clownymoosebean I finally got all of the Oxide times! I'm a king now!
You will now endeavor to try to keep up with those maniacs online who are able to maintain sacred fire and outrun warp orbs.
I actually really like Meteor Gorge. When you land that sacred fire it gets hectic.
This is a really interesting list. I love the first 4 choices. But dragon mines? Really? I get why you hate it but I honestly really like the design overall.
Top 5 tracks I hate.
Coco park.
Dragon Mines
The Spyro track. Yes spyro fan boys it ain’t good.
Turbo track
Slide Coliseum
Honorable mention to Retro Stadium
Dingo Canyon
Man, I just hate Dragon Mines, since the original. It's the worse level, no doubt.
Agree on most, but Turbo Track is amongst my top 10 favourite tracks because of the part you described. Why? Because when you know how to work it, it's an advantage against other racers.
We all agree that dragon mines is the worst ever... ever EVUR!!!
laughs evilly in Oxide Ghost
My. Worst are turbo track dragon Mines Tiny arena Oxford station and last but not least Cocoa Park
My best are drive-through danger koala carnival electron Avenue polar pass and Engine laps Also my favourite character is fake crash and my least favourite is baby cocoa
In hard mode all tracks ar ez but i cried on blizzard buff two times
I hate Dragon Mines and Crash Cove. Dragon mines because I don't think it's well designed and Crash Cove because it's the hardest track on hard mode and one of the hardest time trials despite the fact that it's the first track in the game. It took me ages to get passed it on hard mode, but then I breezed through the rest of them wth game.
5. Assembly Lane
Really long and drab to look at. Effectively just becomes N.Gin Labs in the last section. Beats out Inferno Island because it's longer.
4. Dingo Canyon
Absolutely can't stand the water section or the armadillos.
3. Oxide Station
A very long track with no shortcuts and little room to maneuver makes this track, especially online, a steamroll win or defeat based on how well placed items are to mess up your day.
2. Dragon Mines
The spiral really does speak for itself.
1. Tiger Temple
A track that favours RNG over skill is never a good track.
Papu's Pyramid is just...no...like...why?!
That track is a fan favorite
@@PinkGoldPeach23105 rly...looks like I'm different, bcuz that 90 degrees turns are hell
@@carachamadofinger4640 and it is very hard to mantain sacred fire because the only useful turbo pad is in a very narror 90 degree turn. Yet people love it and hate other tracks that have turns or few turbo pads
@@PinkGoldPeach23105 sorry if I have offended you, but in my opinion I just don't like it :/
@@carachamadofinger4640 it's not one of my favortes
Ohh I love Barin Ruins and Meteor Gorge, are my favourite tracks online even :(
also, I love your content!! I would love to see your top 5 best tracks and other top counts :)
I guess Dragon Mines just... *_"Drags on."_*
@@mikkdc once u get good at u turning. You'll enjoy it a lot more. Especially the last part is hella satisfying to keep usf
I actually agree with you on all these tracks, especially Dragon Mines with its cork screw turn. I don't remember that corner being so bad in the original. Problem is, in the new one, any corner you hit slows you massively.
I agree with all of these except Meteor Gorge. I would've replaced it with Sewer Speedway.
People who hate Dragon Mines and ESPECIALLY Turbo Track ate scrubs who can't u-turn
The REAL worst track is Dingo Canyon
Or sewer speedway
Meteor gorge is actually a damn good track imo
And I dont like Turbo track but I suppose that if you master u turn it's a good track
My personal worst is dragon mines. Mostly cuz I've only been able to successfully do that upwards spriral turn once. In the probably 40 times I've played it I have yet to get the platinum relic and oxide time trial on dragon mines.
That platnium relic is only annoying when using a speed character , 1st try Moto tawna after watching a kids RUclips video I got it I sux with acc ones n I did it. You got this!
@@FoxThaStoner I'm trying to do it in classic. And I chose cortex. Because I wanted my first playthrough to be with cortex. And I refuse to start the nitrofueled version until I complete the classic mode.
Dragon Mines. Dragon Mines. Dragon Mines. Dragon Mines. Did I mention Dragon Mines?
How can you have a gameplay video with the Champion Kart on July 25 if that kart was only released to the gran prix winners yesterday (Aug 2)??
Idk why but I genuinely have fun in metero gorge. It's an easy track to keep your speed on and drifting in the ice part will never stop satisfying me. In barren ruins the ice turn is satisfactory to drift on too.
I love Meteor Gorge too
Meteor Gorge and Barin Ruins and such fun tracks to play, don't know why they are in the list... The list should include buggy tracks like Sewer Speedway...
@@bpmotard1458 I fully expected crash cove to be in there along with Coco park because of how bland they are. I fully agree with inferno island tho
I love Barin Ruins and Meteor Gorge, but I do see Canadian Guy's point. The tracks are kind of bland, plus looking at the Nitro-Fueled versions, the design and colour pallet is more or less identical for both tracks.
Meteor gorge is my favourite track of the game lmao. Do I have a taste THAT bad? (The track that I like the least is slide coliseum, and thar would be it. I still like it)
Online:
5. Sewer Speedway- Dat shortcut. But if you plan on working around it. Pretty great and easy going.
4. Thunderstruck- A very long beat map with tight turns.
3. Coco Park- A beat map with sharp turns but can be really enjoyable.
2. Tiny Temple- Relies entirely on reserves, blue flame and getting beat or not. Get lucky, its one of the best. You dont usually get lucky though.
1. Roos Tube- A SLAUGHTERFEST.
Overall:
Do love the design though.
omg i didn't know how many people didn't like dragon mines. that turn...god i hate it. also turbo track, hate that too
Man you have been doing really good with the videos😝 keep up the hard work!! I love waking up to your videos🔥🔥
Huh. Well this is an opinion piece so I know you aren’t peddling these as facts, but four and five seem... unusual. They’re almost always some of the most popular tracks when I play.
Still, great vid!
thank you!
Yea I never said this was a matter of fact (kinda hard to determine it) but I sat down and I had a huge session playing through every track end to end and just judged my feelings.
Most tracks were positive, but I felt 4 and 5 just kinda fell flat in comparison to my thoughts and experience. Like I had said I don't think their bad, just kinda, bland.
But that's my personal point of view, can't help what I like and dont like lol
lol turbo track isn't fair criticism, you can u-turn the three corners mate...
I despise Dragon Mines! I even had a tough time beating the AI on that one for Adventure mode. And I've been playing CTR ever since I was a kid!
Dragon mines was the last track I needed to beat oxide on to get the platinum trophy
For me it was gingerbread joyride
Meteor Gorge is my favorite track
I hate Dragon Mines and Dingodile Canyon all the rest are fine
CGE:I'm not going to talk about the design of the tracks.
*proceeds to talk about designs of tracks*
Artistic design. As in colour palettes, and the aesthetic.
Track design. As in the shape and mechanics of the track
Any of the tracks that isn't Dragon Mines I find somewhat enjoyable (except maybe cortex castle)
Cortex Castle is so much fun when you can maintain boost for the whole track.

Give some love to Meteor Gorge !!
