A’ho, 👘 I met Quanah’s father, Nathan Chasing Horse, when he was a young teenager after appearing as one of the three Sioux boys, who stole Lieutenant Dunbar’s horse, in Dances With Wolves. What a powerful story! Thank you Quannah and Jody for sharing your life with us, also thank you to The North Face for shining a light on the dangers facing Quannah, Jody and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge!
Quannah, Jody, Adeline the ultimate women of strength, determination and beauty. Ladies thank you for allowing us into your worlds. This was the most inspirational thing ive seen in years.
In our hearts we know that this modern New World can't replace a life connected with mother nature.thank you and your family for sharing your peaceful life with us❤
That was incredibly powerful and moving!! Well done to all who worked on this project! Special shout out to Quannah and her family for sharing her story and walking both worlds with grace and dignity and opening heavy doors at such a young age!
I am inuk (Inuit / Greenland based) Walking two worlds I did overcome by being the best ambassadeur I possibly could to my roots. In a world of ignorance a better life starts with the one's near you and trust me it will spread.
Wonderful film, though difficult to watch. Humans destruction of the natural world in the name of greed is overwhelmingly sad and it rips my heart open seeing indigenous people and animals suffer as a result. Thank you for sharing Quannah’s story, bless the people that are seeing their lives and traditions destroyed.
I am so so so happy this was made! I absolutely love Quannah for being able to manifest her dreams of being a model. She is certainly doing the ancestors work by being seen and simply existing. For myself as Latina who also felt like I was ugly compared to white beauty standards, I see myself in this story. I am thankful for these indigenous practices and the people who keep them alive. Thank you for this story it is extremely inspirational.
Coming from my Mexican-American heritage. I am proud and honored for you to represent us as well, we are a part of YOU! Thank you Quannah and Jody. ❤😘❤
Solid film. We are all losing touch with our roots as outdoorsmen and women. These are some of those rare people on the planet who have kept that connection generationally. People like this, indigenous and otherwise, need to be listened to and paid attention to. Their message is as clear as day. Corpos and billionaires would have us lose our connection to enrich their own ends. Don’t give in. Get out. Connect with your roots.
When The North Face attached a 20% discount to a course promoting racial inclusion, they revealed their intention: to profit off social injustice and turn 'allyship' and 'inclusion' into commodities
beautiful film, thank you. I discovered Quannah in a magazine a couple years ago and the photo was torn out and has been up in the main hallway in my home ever since. She inspires me
Powerful women …….such a powerful sharing…….very inspiring. Quannah you have such strength ,beauty and grace , you carry and embody the power and glory of your ancestry. May you stay strong and weave your traditional knowing and experience with your life and exposure that graces the world with your beauty 🙏
What a beautiful family! If you have had the honor of going to Eagle, Alaska, you know how true and sincere this story really is. The hardest thing about going to Alaska, is going home, you leave a piece of your heart that you want to go back and visit for the rest of your life. Thankfully there are some whose entire heart is there and they know how important it is to protect it. Thank you from the piece of my heart that will always live there.
Thank you so much Quannah. This brings tears of joy and healing to my eyes. My family is part of a broken circle disconnected from our past and I can relate with your path of pain and self discovery. You fight for you and forall of us and I thank you for sharing your journey and your call. Together we lift the sky!
Amazing story, so touching, it helped me to understand what the 4th generation of these precious people can experience within. I love her nose, with a different one she wouldn’t be so beautiful and the perfect representation of her amazing people. Her mother has such a strong vibe… only watching her seems whisper in you soul ancient wisdom.
So powerful and beautiful. All of the women in Quannah’s family are so strong and powerful. I loved watching this. Keep being the beautiful soul that you are, Quannah.
So….The Hawaiian story as well!!! In fact the native Indians of the continent 😔 but the fact that the indigenous people are taking back their righteousness because they are strong and real!!!! I love and admire!!!! I am American Japanese, but I still feel very strongly about taking back culture and self!!!!
Thank you for sharing. Beautiful story. Mom's tears are 500 years old. LA, CA is not an easy place. Peace to you. Many more are open to hear the truth. Your brave heart deserves all to listen. 😇🤩Star seeds. It's a no no for all drilling.
Powerful! Nice job not losing who you are and where you are from. Starts with family, great job Jody on raising an all around young lady. Congrats on your success, keep moving forward.
As a fly fisher, climber and lover of outdoors conservation is the key for the survival for outdoor recreation. Thank you for addressing this issue with this amazing story. Unfortunately, this is just one of many struggles against corporate vs the wild.
Moving and inspirational! A must see story that needs to be shared and spread. Thank you for rising up, being brave, advocating for your land and your people. Keep on shining and showing your spirit!
Tears! Just seeing the intergenerational strength and love - those moments between mama and daughter- just tears! Hiy Hiy Quannah and your beautiful kin - POWER TO THE NORTH
Good job both mom and daughter as a native older woman myself in the entertainment business. It's hard to walk both worlds but I'm proud of the voice you use.
This brought tears to my eyes because i miss being able to be myself and feel free but it's hard when so many people look at you differently for my indigenous roots you are such an amazing person quannah and your mother and grandmother and great people!!!❤❤❤
This was beautiful. I’m from the UK but was travelling through Texas and had the privilege to meet two Native Americans who were kind enough to share their story with me and essentially educate me, it was years ago now but I have never forgotten them. Their story was fascinating and deeply moving, we all should be accepted for who we are and where we come from ❤.
Wow - the wise inner holding up the spirit of the woman. The self - awareness is something to observe. Thank you for sharing your story. Nizhónígo ałhééhosiilzįįd
I loved watching this and it makes me miss Alaska SOOOOO much. I lived there for 28 years and it was a great adventure . Alaska will always have a part of me. Thanks you for this. I will save this so I can watch this again when my heart aches for Alaska.
Chills here, feeling the strong ice winds of your stare that speaks of tundras and miles crossed by dogsled and trail clearing in the Arctic Wilderness. The warmth of your smile and activist spirit. The culture you carry with such grace, and keep alive with your spirit and beauty is something I hope you never stop sharing and truly loving in yourself. It is so rare and incredible. Please write a children’s book about your experiences and have it illustrated by Tlingit illustrator Michaela Goade. Blessings to you from the PNW.
This is the kind of story we need now days. The ones that take us back to our ancestors way of living and trying to incorporate it to our modern way of life. Thank North Face and Quannah and her family for sharing this amazing story. Just beautiful. Love and be safe!🤗😘🌼🇻🇪
So inspirational. In Denmark, we used to colonialise Greenland. Inuit people are slowly but surely rising to resistance. I showed my inuit friend this video.
Soulmate! Thanks respect and love for (the north face) showing the life of a village person. That’s so true you can take the girl out of the village but not the village out of the girl. That’s impressive…
This is such a beautiful story with so many beautiful people involved! Thank you for being inspirational, strong, and courageous. Sending you so much love💖
Beautiful. A powerful message for all our Indigenous mothers & daughters who want to hold true to their cultural values and traditions while they navigate this modern world
amazing 💜 north face and Q 💚 .. this kinda diamond i 🧡 to c more.. Quannah is authenthic , family too.. this is one dazzling rare footage, thank U for sharing .. greetings from Finland 🇫🇮
Han, I acknowledge you and your people. You my friend are a great example of a strong First Nations woman. Your beauty is only overcome by your heart. What an example your mom is. They say the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree. Peace to you!
Having spent 10 months in the bush as a non-native long ago, I have never really figured out how to explaining to folks down states what its like out there. This film tells that story well. A deep connection to the land.
I think the beauty, spirit & authenticity of your native home is far more so than that of your new 'glamour' life... I hope it takes going out into that insane, plastic, manufactured world for you to entirely realise & embrace that truth, and you use it for nothing more than a platform to represent your heritage. I'm glad your perspective & connection appears strong enough that you'll never lose sight of that. That world has a way of twisting peoples minds.
My heart soars for Quanah and her incredible journey. I never thought I'd see an indigenous person grace a high fashion magazine. This is visibility and awareness in all that I believe in. This is a beautiful day in history.
So powerful! Mahsi cho for being so open and honest. I cried with your mom throughout. So grateful things are changing and my baby gets representation like you. Your Sahtu cuz..
It's a beautiful story insofar as it brings a young woman back to the realization that her indigenous features are what tie her to her people and that the modern world are more accepting of her today than they were in the past. When will America begin cleaning its own house, when will it's Natives be given back their land, when will the office of the president be held in Native hands???
I am so glad this documentary was made. People in the United States are ignorant on climate change and I'm glad that you're showing this firsthand, Frontline ! Indigenous women strong. It must be very difficult to go from the bush into the City without your mom. A girl you'll make it because you have your ancestors holding you up keeping you strong and you can go home and visit and stay there for a while. Regroup. Good ❤ in your career and in your life.
@TheNorthFace Where in the world are the proper captions? You cannot rely on autocaptions for true access, and come on, this is 2023. Everyone talks about inclusivity, and then leave out something as simple as captions for people who can't access the sound. This is an incredible film - please allow us to share this widely, confident that everyone has access.
So incredibly refreshing to get a break from the constant stream of content that revolves around one athlete sending the gnar. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but this departure is very appreciated.
Quannah you are very beautiful and you shouldn't even think for a second otherwise!❤!!Also a very strong woman, take pride in yourself and everything you do,you are going to go places in life,God bless!!

@@nelliea.c.7086 yes Nathan chasing horse is her father.
That must be hard on her. No wonder she doesn't acknowledge it
She looks just like the boy who broke his arm in that scene. Whoa!
This was an incredible documentary. It should be shown in schools all over North America.
