Leeske is going to be fine. Even with some of the movements with the baby goats, he wasn't overly interested in chasing them and even when he was following close, he never opened his mouth to grab. He's got puppy enthusiasm, but that will diminish with a little time to adjust to the new area. He's going to be a great dog once mature. If you do decide to breed him, please make sure to get his hips and elbows evaluated by OFA. Such issues can be helped, maybe even solved by introducing genetic diversity to the litter. With the way purebreds have been breeded you really shouldn't mate two dogs of the same breed.

That puppy energy! I only know great Pyrenees and they say it takes 2 years for them to mature. My Moose is 3 and for the most part he is good. He will still occasionally chase the chickens and guineas.
I live in North Dakota and people out on the prairies and plains up here use Great Pyrenees out in their herds. They actually live out there with the cattle and stuff it's crazy how many people don't understand about working animals having a job to do. There's been multiple times until they put notices in the newspapers and on line not to pick up dogs when you're driving on the interstate or on the highway that are in the fields because there's people that thought those dogs were out there and abandoned and so they would capture them and take them to a rescue. To find out that they were chipped and they belong to the ranchers and farmers. 🤨 I really like how you educate people about the dog having a job to do and training him to do it just like you would any new employee or family member 🥰🐾🐾✌️
@@shawneenhammer4241 I'm surprised those strangers got anywhere near those LGD's. They are super territorial towards strangers encroaching on their herd. Ain't no way my dogs would let anyone on my land that's not come in through the front gate. They won't even let family members jump the fence by charging at them or running back to get me. They must have been pups or something. Once mature and settled with the herd they won't leave the herd's side for one second. My 4 are integrated into the herd. We have four American Gampr LGD's. I want two more LGD's not sure which breed this time. Most Likely will get two more Gampr's, two Kangals, or two Cao de Gado's if I can find a good breeder. I want Great Pyrenees but it's too warm for them where I live. I used to live in Dickinson and my grandparents lived in Minot ND. I miss hunting the Prairies.

Poor Rachel! The wind is terrible, here in Indiana, today! Leeske wants belly rubs dad! He’ll settle. It may take a minute, may take a few days. But, I’m confident it’ll work out. Leeske is a pretty good boy, if a bit boisterous! New year blessings
Rachel I’m with you I hate the cold!! I live in Colorado and used to love the snow being out in it never bothered me, now as I’ve gotten older I can’t stand it!! We have already said when we retire in 5yrs we would be selling our house and be moving. Even have said we would love to have goats or sheep. Watching how good you and Kevin treat your animals and learning from you too. Leaked will settle down him being with the goats. He’s a wonderful dog because of you and Kevin putting in the hard work. I have standard poodles and they can suffer from bloat. Hope you get some warmer weather happy new year and New chapters on the way
Yes we see the steam coming off the water. Im so sorry about Bear. Leesky is going to be just fine! He's amazing. Rachael, prayers for your mom. I have a sister with lung an colon cancer right now.
Thanks for sharing Leeskes transition. I’ve been working with my puppy in his LGD training. I don’t know what I’m doing, but I’ve been lucky that he’s done a fine job so far.
Awesome vid my friend's I get what ur saying my friend has same an gives his full range from get go so no (babysitting) he will work out fine. Awesome Dog y'all have there. Untill the next one stay safe my friends.
Leeske did really good!! It def helps that he was right next to them this whole time. The goats knew who he was and he was just playful! He will do great in there!! He will learn to settle down once those goats finally tell him to calm down lol
Awesome pup behavior for only 10 months old.! thanks for sharing this exciting event....Love your farm and all the interesting things you get up to !. Bless you and I hope and pray Rache's mom is getting better...higs from Oregon. Annmarie
Leeski will be fine. My 2 pit bulls got over the chasing & excitement pretty immediately. My female Xena became our #1 chicken catcher! Especially for the skittish jungle-type birds & guinea hens that we just couldn't catch. They'd corral them & the she'd just put her paw on em & hold them for us. Never too rough. Totally self taught! So freaking smart. And they were both rescues!
My friends pitbull actually does the same thing with holding them down with his paws until he can get them. He never trained his dog to do that either.
@@lindatimmons3675 it's also just very hard to retrain a poorly trained dog. I'm working with a friend to train his Pit a bit better since he inherited the dog after two years of it being able to do WHATEVER it wanted. At least she's lovable, the only thing that makes her a good guard dog is the reputation Pits have!
I love Leeski! He is so excited to be with the goats. Hope he adjusts to his job. The goats seemed to be accepting him. Anxious to see how he settles in.
Because he is half border collie. The worst combination of dog on a livestock operation but a common accident of herd dog breeds wi/ guard dog.. get him DNA tested. I am happy to eat crow if wrong, but the Anatolian has a completely different look and nature.
The training collars are great! I'm sure it will be alright. He was so happy to be with them. If my male lgd was caught chasing I would separate for a day or two from herd. He would remember it, it helped in the training process. My male lgd has a mate. She just had her pups the other day. 😊 They work well together. Joys of farm life!
Leeskee is an absolutely beautiful young dog!!! You did a great job with him!!! Looking forward to many more videos of him with the goats to come!!! Stay blessed!!! Love you guys!!! ❤🤗🙏🏻
I hate the cold also Rachel very hard on my arthritis. Today is January 5. Cold front coming in today and forecast is for 2 inches of snow and high winds tonight. It's going to stay around 6 degrees to minus 15 next 3 days here in Clyde Ks.
For the puppy and goats get some pvc piping and run everything u don't want chewed through it first. Then u can lay it on the ground hang it up high or burie it in the ground. Hope this helps

I’m with Rachel on the cold… I wouldn’t make it in Alaska in the winter either.. You might consider drilling small holes in the bottom of the feed bowl so, if they get rain water in them , it can drain out.. At some point Leeske and the goats have to be introduced… hopefully he’ll catch on quickly and the goats will accept him too..
Poor Bear! I had twisted gut myself & almost died from it. Absolutely the most painful thing I've EVER experienced. Way worse than any surgery or even childbirth. Lost 3 feet of my intestines to it😳
@@Fix.family. the pup I’m using it on right now is responding exceptionally well to the collar. I was worried at first with him being so young that he would just puppy through it but all I have to use is the vibration and he stops and goes and lays down. Definitely a great tool!
@@FugateFarms that’s awesome! I got a rescue dog that I had to train with one cause he was chasing the chickens and ducks and my pheasants. He’s not the first dog I’ve had to use one on. All I have to use for this dog is the beep and he knows to stop and come back. He’s 2. Puppies seem easier to train with them.
I got 2 boxers that could careless about the collars. They listen and respond when you hit them with it but just go right back to what they was doing soon as they forget about it 2 seconds later lol. They are both still young like leskee though so I'm hoping they will grow out of it
I think Leeske is going to be just fine in there! The puppy in him may need a couple small adjustments, but his protector genes are very good ones. The mamas will be glad to train him too! Y'all need some good deep cold thermal underwear and more layers for the cold. At my property in Missouri I only have a small heater in my little shed I stay in and the thermals, and 3 more layers plus a coat got me comfortably through constant 20 degree temps for days outside. Blessings, Texas Deb 😁
Leeski seems to doing great. I tried to get my blue heeler puppy to watch because I hope to get a couple of milk goats for him to watch soon. Right now, he is doing a great job with the chickens.
Awesome video guys. I think it went quite well at this point. Having Lee-Ske in a pasture right next to the Spanish herd certainly helped. Seems like only the flighty playful movements from Lee-Ske spook the goats a bit. The adult goats will give him a good “nudge” if need be. Great start. Smee is hilarious, he’s always in the background, he doesn’t want to be left out. Funny how he & Lee-Ske are best buds😊 Lee-Ske is running his own junkyard, I didn’t realise he had so many bits & pieces🤦🏻♀️🤣 Felt for both of you because it looked so cold🥶 Time to break out the hardcore winter jackets I think. Take care, stay warm & cheers🐨🦘🥰

@@FarmerFpv I moved away from North Dakota for about 14 years but once I started having children I knew I wanted them to be raised here on the prairies and they have all grown into amazing adults. I love the outdoors and there's plenty of it here on the prairies. ✌️❤️🌍🥰🌏✌️🌱🌿🌻🌻🌻🦋🐾
All dogs are pups up to two years old
I know I’m commenting a lot but it is super nice t find a channel that knows how animals actually are and not force anything y’all are amazing at what you doing thank you hopefully because if you I will see more ppl not forcing animals to be but also letting them
Hope everything goes well with the dog and the goats I think he will make a great guardian dog
Can he have a new doghouse to fit him to stay warm ????!!!!
Looks to me like he’ll be okay. He’s not threatening the animals - he’s just exploring his new territory.
Nice video.
I love dogs AND GOATS so this video was sooo great to watch. Learned about Guardian Dogs. Spent a lot of time on my grandparents farm as a child. I love all animals. Miss my emotional support dog Elsie. My plan is to get a new dog, I'm ready now.
Leeske is going to do a great job! Like you pointed out he's been around them his whole life. They'll teach him what he can & can't get away with.
This has been so fun watching them adapt to each other. LeeSke is a prize. Love him.
No doubt
I have every confidence Leeske will do well with the goats. As you said, they're already used to seeing him and he's used to seeing them.
Yes he's a happy dog
He’s doing good. When the baby goats start jumping and running he may follow.
Maybe
Rachel I’m with you I hate the cold!! I live in Colorado and used to love the snow being out in it never bothered me, now as I’ve gotten older I can’t stand it!! We have already said when we retire in 5yrs we would be selling our house and be moving. Even have said we would love to have goats or sheep.
Watching how good you and Kevin treat your animals and learning from you too.
Leaked will settle down him being with the goats. He’s a wonderful dog because of you and Kevin putting in the hard work.
I have standard poodles and they can suffer from bloat.
Hope you get some warmer weather happy new year and New chapters on the way
I think he will do just fine. He is happy to have his own herd at last. Great video.
He loves it
Leeskee is just adorable! He is going to do great with his new herd! So fun to watch him and the kitty!
He looks trained , friendly he knows what to do he is a beautiful protector tale care of him , l love him already happy new one guys thanks.
Awesome pup behavior for only 10 months old.! thanks for sharing this exciting event....Love your farm and all the interesting things you get up to !. Bless you and I hope and pray Rache's mom is getting better...higs from Oregon. Annmarie
Love following you guys!!
Good to know!
@@HiddenHeightsFarm They are like kids, if raised right they'll do the right thing almost every time. Happy New Year and GOD bless. Mike
My friends pitbull actually does the same thing with holding them down with his paws until he can get them. He never trained his dog to do that either.
Love hearing this about Pit Bulls. Because they get a bad reputation because the people who have them don't know how to teach them right.
It's sad.
That heat gun is great for shrink wrap on products, too.
For sure
Looks like everyone is doing good! The goats don't mind him and he's doing good!!
I think Leeskie will do just fine! Thanks for sharing this adventure!
This is a hallmark day for Leeske, the goats and y'all. I believe everything is going to be just fine 🙏
Awwww that went so well. He's so excited now bless him xx
Thank you
I love Leeski! He is so excited to be with the goats. Hope he adjusts to his job. The goats seemed to be accepting him. Anxious to see how he settles in.
"Whiskey"🤣🤣🤣that's too funny. I hope Leeskie does well!
Haha
I see no signs of aggression from Lee ske! The tail wags are a good sign!
Yep he was just hyper
I think Leeske will do just fine. I’m impressed with how well the intro went. Happy New Year all!!
He seems to have a natural herding instinct and that could be useful.
Because he is half border collie. The worst combination of dog on a livestock operation but a common accident of herd dog breeds wi/ guard dog.. get him DNA tested. I am happy to eat crow if wrong, but the Anatolian has a completely different look and nature.
@@saylaveenadmearedead He's actually an Anatolian Shepherd. They're a popular breed for Livestock herding/guard work.
Leeske is a beautiful dog, and very smart. He will adjust. I dont like the cold either. Yall take care and stay warm
Thank you
The training collars are great! I'm sure it will be alright. He was so happy to be with them. If my male lgd was caught chasing I would separate for a day or two from herd. He would remember it, it helped in the training process. My male lgd has a mate. She just had her pups the other day. 😊 They work well together. Joys of farm life!
All 3 of your dogs have their own personalities, but all 3 are so sweet & loving & such good guardians!
It's going to stay around 6 degrees to minus
15 next 3 days here in Clyde Ks.
Stay warm!
Leeske will do fine. He's just excited about being with the goats....lol Love y'alls channel! Have a wonderful day and stay warm!
Thank you for watching
For the puppy and goats get some pvc piping and run everything u don't want chewed through it first. Then u can lay it on the ground hang it up high or burie it in the ground. Hope this helps
It really didn’t take him long to calm down! Daisy’s smiling down at him!!
Oh yes she is 🙂
Leeske is such a good boy!! I think he will do great with his new herd! Y’all stay warm and be safe!
Continued prayers for Rachel’s Momma to be completely healed and cancer free.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Rachel looks like she’s freezing……nothing worse than a cold cold wind…..
It was very cold
@@HiddenHeightsFarm....
Especially a North wind .
Brrrrr....
I'm praying that it continues to go well. Thank y'all for sharing your life and your animals.
Yes they do
I love your herd wonderful animals keep up the production
I love how the cat just roams where he wants lol
Hi guys...You are a true trooper Rachel... I hate that cold weather also!...Enjoyed the video!... Stay warm & stay safe
Thank you 💓
Poor Bear! I had twisted gut myself & almost died from it. Absolutely the most painful thing I've EVER experienced. Way worse than any surgery or even childbirth. Lost 3 feet of my intestines to it😳
Oh wow that sounds so painful!!
MoJo loves this weather because his breed, Great Pyrenees, were bred for the mountains. He is a beautiful dog.
I’m going through the same training with my LGD pup and chickens. The collar is a super effective tool! Great video!
Awesome
I’ve used a training collar multiple times for training dogs. It truly is an amazing tool to have when you need it.
They are both still young like leskee though so I'm hoping they will grow out of it
looks like leeske is happy and ready to work. ya'll be bless. it is going to get cold thursday here in savannah tn.
He loves it
I think Leeske is going to be just fine in there!
Yes instincts kick in
Leeski seems to doing great.
Seeing the weather yall had when you made this video is why I live in Florida
Lol no doubt, we love Florida
Having been raised, working on dairy farms here in rural Western Mass as a preteen into my late teens, I'm always interested in the philosophy's & techniques regarding farmer/animal relations. I'm especially curious regarding your training of LGD/animal behaviors. Thanks for taking the time to video while you try to perform your duties on your farm.
He will do fine .He laid down and watched them a few and then got up looked around n investigated . He needs time with them is all . He is young but he is also smart and since he comes from working parents and was born with them I think he will do all rite . Y'all got a smart dog there .
I know what twisted gut is .....It's called bloat. I've lost two dogs (basset hounds) to this. I usually feed mine now twice a day....not much each time. They also say they shouldn't exercise just before and after eating.
Leeske is going to do great. Can't wait for the next video. Stay warm, It is going to be cold tonight 19 here. I am sure it will be colder at your house. Have a great day. God Bless... Hugs
Leeskie is going to be fine itbis cold every where here in UK winter now since October and seems very cold some places snow a lot stay warm as possible prayers for Racheal mom hope she is nice and warm
Looks like leeske and the goats are doing great together, he’s still a pup and wants to play
Put you a camera in the barn so you can check on the animals from in the house. Happy new year 🎉. Thanks for sharing.
He will calm down.. just a bit excited right now..good to see goats and pup getting along.. 🙏🤗🥰
Leeske's like "Yea👏🏻👏🏻New friends to play with"😊Its just an adjustment & it'll take time especially bc he's still a pup🐶hisself😉🥰
Lee ske will do awesome! The goats accept him and he fits right in! God bless y’all!
