Adler farm has a dog named Smokey
He came from my farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Mountain City TN, not the Smokey Mountains. The first leg of his journey was the 325 mile ride from our farm to Nashville.

We lost our beloved almost 14 year old yellow(more white then yellow) lab six months ago, we are still morning her death, she was such a loyal friend to all my family. We love and miss you Libby🥰

I see a story about a handsome pup Prince. He travelled from afar to the Hidden Heights family farm. He rode to this far away farm with friends of the family. What a nice way to start, true friends go out of their way to help when they can. What an adventurous ride it was. Pup thought it was so kind. He had mixed emotions about it all. Meeting new people and dogs and goats. And so much to learn as his new family would show him the way. He would be in charge of his own goats in this big fenced in area. He would care for them with his life and the help and direction of his new family. His first days and nights may be a challenge, with windy weather, if there be rain, or sun or moon in the sky. A bit of a challenge for the young pup Prince. But we will see....
He's a beautiful dog who already knows his job, just needs some time to adjust to the new situation. God is good and always faithful to provide in the big and in the seemingly small things. This may seem like a small thing to others, but I'm sure it was huge to y'all and how He worked it all out is a testimony to His lovingkindness 💗🌈
Exactly. Because of how everything came together, including the timing of the anonymous donor who paid for the puppy in full, and wishes to remain anonymous (Father says don't let others know of your good deeds, so that He gets the glory and praise, which is the way it's supposed to be!), I know in my heart that this WAS Father's plan and answer to Kevin and Rachel's, as well as ALL of us praying on their behalf, petitions. This is what happened between my husband and I. We were both waiting on the Lord, putting it completely in His Hands whether we should even be out meeting anyone new, after our divorces. And then we both popped up in the same dating service, at the same time, in the same state, and had so much in common, even growing up 100 miles from each other but in California, rather than where we both ended up, through our own individual journeys, here in North Dakota. That's Father's Hand guiding us together.

I kept him and his littermates till they were 12 weeks old so they would have additional time to learn from their Mom and Dad. They have more confidence and maturity with that extra month with their parents.

Stress, an emotional response to an uncontrollable situation. You can't control the situation but you can eliminate the stress, quit worrying about it. I knew you would find a new puppy the day you announced you were looking for one. With 50.6K subscribers something would have worked out.

His previous owner has already started working with him
He is a very calm puppy. I saw that in him very early on. He didn’t want to cause a fuss with his littermates. He wasn’t food aggressive. And he was raised with yearling does from about 4-5 weeks of age along with his mother and father. His mother is a watcher who likes to stay with the animals and his father is a patroller who guards the perimeter of his pasture. He accompanied his father when he would alert to noises and movement outside the fence. His disposition is in large part due to his breeding, but I encourage the puppies to be calm by not getting them excited when they are small. They have interaction with me at feeding time and when I start teaching them to sit and work on leash training. I reward calm behavior.

They are big. His mother is about 120lbs not bred, and his Daddy is 140 at only two years of age. His granddaddy weighs 175lbs.

Kevin and Rachel, we just wanted to say how sorry we are about Daisy. We cried so hard. She seemed so much like part of our family. She will be missed. Rachel will be a good trainer for your new pup!puppy! He is a beautiful brindle and is huge! He may end up bigger than MOJO. His coloration will make him look fairly intimidating to strangers and he will be invisible at night time, so predators had better beware! He is a chilled pup. It was something I noticed very early on with him. It’s a good thing I never advertised him because he would have been one of the first ones to be bought since he was the biggest one in the litter. I told Kevin that God must have been saving him for them.

As a dog handler/trainer, I'd like you to remember he is still a puppy and is suddenly in a new environment and subject to predation. Can you put him in that portable cage you use in your truck bed overnight with the goats nearby?
He's been living with a goat herd already, at his breeder's property. All he needs is some time to adjust to the new environment and the new herd, which I suspect will not be long at all. (BTW, I'm a dog handler/trainer, too... since 1986. Trained dogs in K-9 techniques, tracking, herding, LGD.)

I live in Western NC very close to where your new pup came from. I am so happy for you guys. I know how hard it is to lose a working dog. Our daughter's service dog passed last year at age 15.
