I thought that was so weird ... no one I know has ever said that, or had no need to say it as everyone was genuinly authentic. It makes you think that either she knew she was far from authentic (the famous 'I'm such a fake' quote) or someone had suggested that she wasn't authentic and it was eating away at her.
