Okay PLEASE read my comment & try this it changed my life. I was suffering from horrible body acne sometimes even some cystic acne that was so painful. (Especially butt acne) if your a girl like me that's a huge insecurity. Go buy clorox bleach right now! Run a bath 🛁 make it decently full and add 1/2 a cup of clorox bleach to the water mix it well. Soak on your back for 8 minutes, flip soak on your tummy for 8 more minutes. Grab a wash cloth and go over your body in the clorox water you can do this for your face too just becareful with your eyes. Do NOT use soap when you do these baths twice a week. Bring a cup with you! Drain the water and rinse with clean water or just turn on your shower. I swear on everything you will see the results in 2 weeks of doing this. Also for butt acne please wipe down your toilet seat with clorox at least 3 times a week. Anyone like me that suffers with horrible acne unfortunately our pores suck up bacteria that doesn't bother other people's skin in the same way. You will be so thankful for this comment once you see the results.

Please don't drink it or put it directly in your eyes, but you will see skin doctors will recommend this also.

here’s some skincare knowledge and self positivity!Hope you find this useful!
1: We Stan the ordinary, the inky list, youth to the people, cerea VE,krave beauty, Paulas choice and curology.
2:We dislike Mario badescu, clean and clear, most of neutrogena products, most of tatcha products, kiley skin, pixi skin,la mer and many more
3: fragrance is a BIG no👎🏻. It can can cause many problems like irritation, rashes, pimples, acne and many more!
4: Mario badescu sprays are just fragrance in water💧
5: makeup wipes do more harm than good ( for your skin and the environment)
6: double cleanse if you wear makeup and or sunscreen
7: chemical exfoliating is way better than physical exfoliating
    8: everyone’s skin is different
9: everyone needs to moisturize even if you have oily skin
10: use what works for you
11: fragrance is fine in a wash off treatment but not on a leave on treatment like moisturizer, surum, essence etc
12: be gentle with your skin
13: natural is not always better
14: sunscreen is the most important part of a skin care routine and should be used after everything else
15: eye creams are just expensive moisturizers and are not necessary , just use your regular moisturizer
16: our enemy is st. Ives apricot scrub😳
17: diy skincare is a no, most of them use essential oils (which are just as irritating as regular fragrance) and any of the good benefits that you could be getting from the ingredients are most like lost when you cut the fruit or vegetable open. But I personally recommend outing raw honey on your face
18: enjoy yourself while doing your skincare and think of it as your you time
    19: try to recycle ♻️ your empty skincare containers ♻️ 🌱 🌎
20: a good and simple routine should have 4 steps, cleanser(this includes cleansing balms, oils etc), exfoliate, moisturizer, and the most important of them all, sunscreen.
21: ingredients to avoid. Denatured/SD alcohol, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, polyvinyl alcohol(avoid these when they are in the first 6 ingredients). Avoid fragrance/parfum. Avoid fragrant essential oils (they are okay if they are at the end of the ingredient list). And avoid citrus extracts (lime, orange, lemon etc)
22: only use st Ives as a foot scrub🦶🏻
23: don’t touch a facial dropper directly on skin because it can/will cause bacteria buildup
    24: we love niacinamide
25: remember that just because something doesn’t work on you that doesn’t mean it not a good product, vise versa

I used to struggle so much with this, particularly on my upper back and shoulder area. Something that really helped me is I will exfoliate using a bristle brush and a very simple soap that doesn't have oil or lotion type ingredients during a long warm-hot shower. Once I started doing this once a week, my body acne almost completely disappeared and my skin overall is so soft!!
I also make sure to completely rinse acne sensitive areas after shampoo and conditioner, as I find if this stays on the skin after the shower it can cause breakouts. I hope this helps someone :)

    3. If you're in my situation EXFOLIATE I can not stress this enough. After almost 2 months my acne on my chest completely vanished and it is almost completely gone on my back and that is the only change I made.

Thanks a lot for the recommendations and be opened to talk about body acne.
I've been suffering with back acne for years since teens and tried many ways to get rid of it. It made me afraid to wear sleeveless tops, anything that can show my back for years. The way that it made me feel so insecure and ashamed of my own body was such awful experience.😞
I did exactly what you said, change towel and beddings more often, shower or at least change clothes after exercising, etc. Also change my diet and wear pyjamas that show my back to let the skin breathe during the night.
Thankfully my back acne has been improved a lot since then. It was such a journey for me and still a long way to go☺️

Definitely needs to be series, just to keep us updated and informed. I have struggled with acne over my whole body since I was 11, due to being placed on several different medications as I was diagnosed with a chronic disease. The worst one is prednisone. I've been on and off of it for 25 years now and I just wrecks my skin, but it helps when I have flare-ups so I just deal with it as best I can. Thanks for these tips and recommendations. Some of which I already implement into my routine. I will definitely check out the salicylic acid sprays. I am currently using the Dermalogica Clear Start spray for my body and it works decently. I have also tried the Pacifica Bacne Warrior Acne Fight Spray and I used it once and took it straight back to Ulta. The ingredients come out in this super fine mist, so I thought it'd be great but it lingers in the air and even with my bathroom door upon, I went into a huge coughing fit. It was terrible!

i used to have back acne, then i take deep look on why. When i shower, wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner, I leave my hair down behind my back. My skin is very sensitive, due to this, acne would build up because of the oil. make sure your hair is not touching your back when showering! after that, leave your towel behind your neck/back then, you can place your hair there. i hope this makes sense

I struggled with body acne really bad. All over my back and butt. Now smooth and acne free!
#1 Do not eat anything with milk ingredients
#2 Do not eat anything with sugar (except whole fruit)
#3 If you sweat, shower ASAP
#4 Change your bedsheets and towels at least once a week
#5 Close your windows and use a filter if you live with a window facing towards cars or in a major city
#6 Never wear the same shirt twice. Wear clothes once and wash it
#7 Drink a lot of water
    #8 Move to a less humid/warm place
#9 I use Shea Butter's African Black Soap. I'm not black, but it's superficially made for acne prone skin WITHOUT using salycidic acid. My pasty white skin loves this soap.
#10 If you have hair on you butt or back, get laser hair removal. Even without me shaving, I'd have ingrown hairs before.
The ones that helped the most were diet (no milk or sugar) and laser hair removal.

When I was 20 I struggled with horrible back acne - small in size but cyst like. A bf popped them and that was a relief and all. But I wish I knew what I know now:
that I should’ve asked him to help me put salicylic acid on them instead. Sometimes he did put zinc oxide on my breakouts, but often that was after he popped them. And salicylic acid would’ve been way more effective. I have some scars on my back because of the breakouts but also because of all that popping.
I do recommend using a loofah in the shower. And if ordinary shower gel won’t help, use an acne product of your choosing, something that you think works for you.

    • @CeciliaCaramel
      @CeciliaCaramel 3 года назад +4

He has a lot of videos recommending products for it. I would recommend paulas choice 2% bha (salicylic acid) for blackheads (it helps breakouts too). Start slow if your skin isn’t used to active ingredients/chemical exfoliants; use only a few times a week before going to bed and moisturize after. Always sunscreen in the morning with actives! For acne id recommend retinol, best to go to a dermatologist but if you live in USA I believe you can get differin gel over the counter. I wouldn’t use retinol & salicylic acid together at the same time, or you’ll most likely end up over exfoliating. So maybe target one thing at a time. Also read about using retinol online first, with that you also have to start slow and use sunscreen with it. Affordable sunscreens I’ve been able to find are garnier spf 50 in a big bottle and Hawaiian tropic sensitive spf 50 for face, both fragrance free. If you have a deeper skin tone, I’ve heard Black girl sunscreen is good, I believe you can get that at target etc in US (I’m still assuming you’re from there, sorry if you’re not lol). I use CeraVe face washes (but be careful with the salisylic acid one if you’re already using other forms of it). CeraVe moisturizer, they have good options for different skin types. My skin is dry so I use the ordinary b oil or rose hip oil after moisturizer at night - oils don’t hydrate/moisturize but they lock the moisture in preventing water loss throughout the night, so your moisturizer can do it’s thing. So, in the morning: CeraVe face wash, CeraVe moisturizer, garnier or Hawaiian tropic fragrance free sunscreen. At night CeraVe face wash, either paulas choice bha or retinol, depending what I’m using at the time, with retinol I let it sit on my face for a while before applying other products. Then CeraVe moisturizer and the ordinary face oil.

High-waisted jeans/shorts always make me break out on my back...I guess it's because they fit tighter higher up on my back (if that makes sense) so I try to not wear them all day if I can help it. I'll alternate between high-waisted jeans and lower-waisted/looser-fitting trousers or only wear the high-waisted jeans when I'm outside and then change into loose-fitting shorts at home. Also, I have to change my bra every day otherwise I break out along the band line. Just in case someone else is struggling with this too, I hope it helps you! :)

If its itchy and appears in clusters of small whiteheads this is (fungal acne) you have to use like anti-dandruff ( nizoral shampoo) , if its not itchy etc. here u have to use like : salicylic acid (BHA) or benzoyl peroxide wash or retinoids

Also, see what works for you individually.
For me, it was actually exfoliating more often, the reason being increased keratosis clogging pores faster AND getting my hormones checked out by an endocrinologist! Dermatologists only treat the symptoms, but there might be an underlying reason in your hormones (think testosterone levels, PCOS, chronic inflammation due to metabolic or autoimmune response, poor wound healing, etc.)
The endocrinologist actually discovered that my body acne is not due to hormonal issues but that I've got too much alpha reductase (it's an enzyme in the skin that reacts sensibly to the testosterone and converts it and if you've got too much it shows in acne). I even had a months-long tretinoin treatment from a dermatologist before but no wonder I still have acne.
Found out that azelaic acid is a topical alpha reductase inhibitor and it has become my holy grail! (I use The Ordinary but stronger ones are available on prescription.) I also use Differin.
Also experienced my whole life that dermatologists tend to underestimate the psychological impact of acne and are not really invested in getting you a satisfactory result and that having your body ravaged so much by it over years may destroy your confidence completely.
Btw, no dermatologist ever thought of getting my hormones checked out first (or at a later stage). I even got the answer "it will eventually improve as you get older" i.e. "when menopause sets in" (which means the doctor assumed hormonal issues without even knowing or checking).

Sugar intake is also big for acne. I had face acne on my cheeks and my chest. I thought it was hormonal acne. I’m a big sugar person, I will eat dessert after every meal and get moody if I don’t have sweets and when I became aware that I was getting out of control, I wanted to cut down for my health and my acne immediately went away. I’ve been very insecure about my back to the point where I wore sleeves whenever I went in the pool and I didn’t do cheer because the uniforms exposed the back. Hyram, thank you so much for this video. I have struggled with body acne since middle school. I had to get a prescription because nothing worked. I hate having to use it, but every time I take a break from it to see if I don’t need it, I get acne on my chest, shoulders, and even my arms. I also have to be careful of really fragranced or cheap body washes. I will break out. I like bath and body works, and I have not used their body wash in a long time. I got a few recently and man, I forgot how fragranced they are. Also, to my bigger chested ladies (including me). Maybe I’m crazy, but I like to sleep on my side and with pillows. I will get horrible acne in my cleavage and going up my chest. Sorry if this is TMI, but I started using the Cerave SA Cleanser on my chest at night. I think it is working well. Also, make sure that you are washing your bras well and regularly, ladies. We all have had those sore pimples along the band of the bra.

I’ve been using a bath soak that I came up with for my body acne/body texture. It has black lava salt, bentonite clay (volcanic ash) and some other ingredients. It worked so well that I’m working on opening an Etsy shop to sell it. Milk baths help as well (or you can add powdered milk to the mixture above for extra benefits). They have lactic acid that exfoliates and smoothes the skin, helps with those little bumps and texture on your arms (that aren’t acne) as well.

I only use soap in the shower on parts of my body that never break out. I switched to using micellar water after a shower on any areas that break out, and it's been amazing at keeping skin clean, even in tone, and hydrated. My number one recommendation for treating breakouts is applying a tiny bit of pure lavender oil on any spots, and they dry up super quick.
