Super helpful. My horse just started turning her nose away and lifting her head, so those tips were really helpful. I switched to an Acavallo (from Italy) plastic bit for winter, because I think she was avoiding the bit because it was cold, and that was causing it to clank against her teeth when she moved while bridling, which reinforced wanting to avoid it even more. It isn't even freezing weather yet, but she is one of those mares who makes a goal out of trying to train her humans make life easier for her. 😹The plastic bit is not icy, and it has a little flex in it. I think she likes it a lot better than the fancy expensive ones! The only thing about them is the colors can be tacky. I chose the Italian one becuase it is blue. The American Brand (Happy Mouth) is white, and the German brand (I forget) is orange.

my horse is great to be bridled but i volunteer at my barn and their is a new horse that trys to put his tongue over the bit so when I hv to get him ready for a lesson it takes a long time for me to bridle him. I already know how to bridle but ive been struggling on this. Any tips?

    • @ChogeRandom

In the ranch I ride, whenever the horses misbehave, the helpers and workers slap their faces a bit. Try that whenever he puts his tongue over the bit

Actually, bits don't hurt their mouths...well, there are ones that do, but anyway, bits don't hurt horses unless we make it painful.

@ariellewilson730 so you mean they don't feel it😳 wow...
Double wow for the bits that do hurt.
Why would anyone want to hurt a horse. 🤔
I'm guessing there are many reasons but I would rather want to think that there is still good in this world

Why put the bar in thier mouth. That just seems mean. We should have changed to something that is not so uncomfortable for them
