£30 for these 88 films Joe D'Amato 4ks is completely nuts. I love 88, but this is pretty crazy price gouging. No box? No poster? No lobby cards?
I thought they could have thrown a booklet in at least. Solid releases although the pricing is steep.
Mine arrived yesterday, a great film and a decent transfer considering the original quality of the actual transfer, however for £30 this is way overpriced especially with no booklet or poster, hope they don't go down this route with future releases as store exclusives for £45 including all the booklet and poster etc and still charge £30 for their standard ltd editions as i cant justify paying this price for a bare bone package
@@brianlovell604 I feel the same regarding the pricing and supplements. They managed to put a booklet and poster in their Burial Ground 4K release last year. That was before the store exclusives were a thing. We need more bang for our buck especially at £30.
Yeah, and only the 4K of Fist of Legend has a booklet and poster 😞
Same here, if this becomes standard for them then i will more than likely wait for most of them in standard ltd edition form as the £30 price ag will come down to around £25 as it should be now including the booklet and poster, i doubt here will be many folk thinking the same and this may make them re-think this strategy, after all it's the film i buy these for first then the added extra's along with it as a bonus

Shame they saved the booklet for the store exclusive. I agree, a CD soundtrack would be more worthwhile these days than the Blu-ray, unless it's just for the supplements. The slips 88 do are top end though. The only reason I got SWAT from them was for the slip! 😆

Good call they’re bound to go down in price. 88 are hitting hard with some great releases. I think for £30 they could have thrown a booklet in. Never mind though.
@@skincrawlers2510 They put a booklet in with Miami Vice for a lot less so definitely should have had one here! They could have just cut down the 30 page one to 10 or something.
@BluRayDisplay I would of liked one with it. The pricing is a bit steep that’s for certain. I think 22-25 would have been a fairer deal. It will go down in the future so that’s a good thing.
I actually messaged them on X to ask if the booklet or a poster was missing. It seems so barren for a 4k release but that's because they want you to buy the £40 store exclusive version. I'm guessing Absurd will be the same.

I got this and the Absurd webstore exclusive, they're more expensive but you get a thick booklet, a double sided poster and a really thick slip box, kinda Vinegar Syndrome quality. They're expensive but they're only a small company and these really good quality slips arent cheap for a small business. The limited one's are £45 each but if you get them both together, you get £10 off and the artwork is the original video nasty art.
The quality of the slip is good. I’m really into the new artwork from Graham Humphreys. I nearly bought the 88 store exclusive for Amityville Horror however I decided to stick with the vinegar syndrome edition. I’ll definitely try a store exclusive sometime in the future. I think 30 is a bit pricey but I’m happy to support 88 as they do put some films out, that may not get a good release otherwise. I forgot this one was a video nasty. I’ve seen a few documentaries on Video Nasties, interesting stuff.
@@skincrawlers2510 I've done quite a few video nasties videos, I absolutely love them. Yeah I gotta admit, I love Graham Humphrey's work - I'm actually not overly keen on these 2 though - that could be because I'm a huge fan of original video nasty VHS artwork though.
@rockgod2004 I’ve seen some of your videos. I’m subscribed to your channel 👍 I must have a fair few video nasties in my collection. I like having a mix between new art and original art on my editions.
@@skincrawlers2510 Oh Wow really? I subscribed to you yesterday as well 😃 I always like the original artwork unfortunately they'd don't always use it. I think it's a great idea to have reversible artwork but even then, the original nasty art isn't always used. The Burning is a prime example, even the Arrow Blu Ray uses the original US artwork.
@rockgod2004 Reversible is definitely the way to go. Best of both then. If I’m upgrading to 4K I do like some newly commissioned art on the sleeve and box. Original on the reversible side of course. Scream factory are releasing The Stepfather on 4K in September did you hear? I can’t wait.
