  • Family reunification (Familienzusammenführung) is a purpose of stay for third-country nationals, who want to move to Austria to live here with their spouse. In this StartWien video, you will find out what other requirements you need to meet for family reunification. You will also learn how to submit your first-time application for family reunification to receive a red-white-red card plus (Rot-Weiß-Rot Karte Plus) or a residence permit for family members (Aufenthaltstitel Familienangehörige*r).

Hello. I'd like to ask how long should we wait after we submit the application to the Embassy? I have submitted my application on 20th of December 2022, but I haven't got any information yet regarding this until now.

I have applied for family reunion visa of Austria. I have provided all the documents but A1 German language certificate is missing. I have attempted 4 times to get the certificate but unfortunately I failed to pass the exam of A1german language due to some psychological issues and disturbance. Is it possible for me to get exemption from A1 certificate due to my mental condition? If possible then what is the procedure to apply for language exemption on the basis of mental health issues? Plz guide me in this regard
