The Z Tune prototype was the first Z Tune it has the most history and had the Z1 engine which produced around 600ps before reducing the power to 500ps and renaming it the Z2 engine.
I still would've liked to see & hear the Z1 engine.
I bought a Carbon briefcase for $500000 and Nismo through in a Z-tuned R34 as a kicker!! 😅🏁

Fantastic video! Great knowledge on the Z-Tune, I do find the section at the bottom of the Z-Tune GTR-Registry page particularly interesting, as it shows Z-Tunes with unknown chassis numbers. One of these cars has only 48km on the odometer! Apparently that car was imported into the UK and failed to be registered at the time for an unknown reason (that isn't confirmed however).
Love these kinds of videos, keen for the next one!

MNP II or III is better, but the problem is that it's very hard to paint the correct color. Cost amount of money to buy those MNP paints.

Funny how the Z tune has tripled in price when it was "new". Now it not suprising to see the Z tune for sale at 500 grand and above. And the owner of the #001 Z tune is asking for 1 million. Nuts!!!
The price of the conversion was around 120-130 grand. All the Z tune models used for the conversion were formally V Specs based on the original VIN. But now they sport the Z tune VIN.
As mentioned in the previous video. The RRR block while darn rare are only slightly better than the N1 24U RB block. For the same amount you paid for the RRR block. You can get multiple 05U RB26 blocks for cheap and get them tested and re-honed for high horsepower application with the correct mods.
Nismo Omori Factory will occasionally display the Z tune in the showroom. But there are times the Z tune will be in the shop undergoing maintainence.
Rather than buy the Z tune at their current crazy price.
If you have a fat wallet. You can convert your own R34 to almost Z tune specs aka the Clubman Race Spec since Nismo still has the Z Tune parts for sale except the RRR block.
They will strip the R34 to bare chassis and do spot welding to further strengthen the chassis. Repaint the whole body to the color of your choice. And upgrade the R34 with all the goodies. OHLINS suspensions at all four corners. Brembo 6 pot front 4 pot rear Brakes system directly from the R35 GTR. RECARO seats, NARDI steering wheel. Nismo LM GT4 rims. The list goes on.
The RB26 N1 block will be used and the 2.8L stroker kit will be fitted to get the same capacity as the Z2 engine. The twin turbo setup are the Garrett R1 spec turbos similar to the ones used in the GT500 R34s.
The fuel delivery will be the same injectors and fuel rails taken from the R35 GTR. The same intake plenum used in the Z tune. R spec camshafts for more lift and air flow.
A new reworked ECU will be used along with the new R35 injectors to provide better fuel air ratio mixing. And the final horsepower figure will be similar to the Z tune output.
The Z Tune was rpm limited to preserve the engine. The actual max power was 600bhp at closer to 9000 rpm. It not common to see the RB26 rev to 10000 rpm if the crankshaft and the rotating assembly is well balanced.
Also the bodykit is the exact same bodykit on the Z Tune is used. And all the supporting oil and diff coolers are included as well as brake ducts for cooling the brakes.
The R2 engine is a 57 grand investment already.
The estimated conversion cost to Clubman spec will set you back a cool 200 grand.
Including the Car and the price will be around 322 grand for a V Spec II Nur converted.
Chassis number 7 is in Australia and is owned buy the same owner as chassis number 1, there are some pictures online but it is very hidden from the public, both cars belong in a collection with Australia's only Koenigsegg CCX and CCR , a Pagani Zonda S Roadster, a Veyron 16.4, a f40 and enzo, a manual murcielago sv, a r33 400R and plently of other cars

I was more a fan of the Nismo F-Sport, Sports resetting package and Clubman race spec. The z tune is nice but it seems too overrated. Great video tom as always 👍🏻
The Clubman race spec is almost the same as the Z tune. But the conversion will cost you over 200 grand minus the car.
But still a bargin when Z tune asking price now are over 500 grand.
On your first point about engine blocks real quick - I hope someone like Motive Video does a feature on those blocks that does destructive testing (preferably on a block that’s already past its use by date) to see if there’s any actual difference in the water galleries or heat exchange rate of the block itself. I was under the impression that a good intake plenum already solves the cyl 4-6 heat issues experienced in track/drift cars, but you never know until actual testing is done.
Their info on hardness and bore thickness was already pretty eye opening.
Also I believe Z-Tune #15 is complete, as I believe I saw a video of a well known Melbourne based Detailer giving a MNPIII Z-Tune a good clean sometime late last year.

Well there are maybe three confirmed colours the Z-tune has been seen in. Z-Tune silver, midnight purple and millennium jade. They all look great

This video was informative, I wasn't aware of the different engine blocks. There does seem to be some discrepancy about the actual number of production cars. Multiple sources state there were 20, others say 18 but you say 19. There's some inconstancy here. From what I understand the 18 number is the original Z-Tunes painted that silver color while the 19th one was midnight purple which was a special request conversion. I'm guessing the 20th car was the same thing given anyone can get their R34s converted to Z-Tune. This probably doesn't help the value of the Z- Tune cars since anyone can convert there's.
Trouble is, there are quite a few Z-Tunes unaccounted for. There’s a potential M-Spec Nur Z-Tune out there thats painted in millennium jade.

the radiator you ar showing is only a calsonic up grade. the real nismo radiators came in 2 types. 1 with water outlet in the middle in the bottom. and one with the water outlet in upposit bottom side.
the clutch you show is for a 370z. 34 z tune came with a pull type clutch not a press type like on the photo

Production of the z and s tune versions started in 2005, that's also the year the r34 was being discontinued. The ztune had 500hp from a recently built RB28dett, the stune version had 450hp. Some have speculated that the ztune didn't have 500hp but 600hp, I can see nissan doing something like this since they always lied about their cars horsepower.
