According to cast, the whole Partridge village raised Danny. Shirley mothered him, Dave Madden did the Dad stuff, the kids were his siblings, etc. I'm glad he found a place in radio; Danny's voice is great. It's very rich.
I know that Jonathan Brandmeir gave Danny his first break in Talk Radio in Chicago. He hit it big here and I understand he is doing very well in Philly.
🗣️I Think I Love You! 🎵 ❤ I loved The Partridge Family and I also loved this song Dave.Wow David looked just like his father Jack Cassidy! Rip David Cassidy! 😔🙏🏼
It’s nice that David helped Danny out during a time that wasn’t going too well for him. Thank you for the video Dave, I hope you’re doing well. Keep up the great work and take care!
As a kid I loved their combative/sarcastic relationship; always thought it kinda sorta mirrored my own with my brother, who was about ten years my senior. If you listen to Danny's interviews, or watch "C'Mon, Get Happy" it's obvious that he adored and idolized David, and to have him basically save his life this way must have been truly a watershed moment for Danny. Till they meet again...
Like almost every other teen girl in the country, I had a big crush on handsome David Cassidy way back in the day. I was very sad when he passed away. I admire Dany Bonaduce for plugging away at his life. He's a funny guy. Great memories, thanks for the video!
Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba… I Think I Love You🎵 David Cassidy didn’t appreciate that song until later when when he got back together to re-record the theme song with the background singers! It’s great that he and Danny were so close. Thanks Dave!
Still to this Day My Favorite David Cassidy Song and CD is the Self Titled David Cassidy CD and The Track Lying To Myself, The Whole CD is a Masterpiece R.I.P. DAVID. And I Hope Danny is Recovering from His Illness haven't heard anything lately.
Danny was my favorite character on that show. Rueben called him a 40 year old midget. Danny was great. Still listen to him on the radio sometimes. Funny guy!
We saw David before his last DUI at the Berkshire in Alexandria, VA. He was in good form and fantastic voice. He spent some time on the drums and seemed happiest behind the kit. Because he didn't have a lot of songs people knew, he padded it a bit with some other bubblegum hits and Monkees songs--but the audience was delighted just the same. And that audience! All those women in the '50s with the men they brought to the show. (My wife and I were contemporaries, naturally.) It was a good time had by all. I'm the exact same age as Bonaduce, and I grew up with long, red hair. I'm sure every redhead that age got called "Danny Partridge"; I know I did. That kept up until Richie Cunningham came along to replace him, and I got called that for a few years.
I saw the late David Cassidy perform in concert (minus Danny B.) at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant, Michigan back in December of 2006 BUT there was no meet & greet. Yep, I saw the reruns when I was 10 years old starting in September of 1975 when WJRT in Flint, MI showed the episodes!! Too bad that Arista Records did NOT reissued "At Home With Their Greatest Hits" (from 1972) in 1975. In August of 1989 after 14 & 1/2 years, Arista finally released "Greatest Hits" on CD. Still waiting for "Missing Pieces" (complete unreleased & songs they performed on the TV show) BUT haven't been released on any of their albums (both Partridge Family & David Cassidy solo)!!
David Cassidy always did well for himself and it’s great he did his best and helped his friend Danny Bonaduce. Danny not only was funny but he had a dark side to him the man had anger 😡 issues. I understood he went to counseling because he’d easily get mad it would take something small to tic him off. That was his downfall and his imperfection. I’m glad that when he went on tour with David Cassidy that David set some boundaries. That was needed because there were times that Danny got in trouble with the law. It’s great that David and Danny remained friends because when TV series are cancelled everyone goes their separate ways.
After the invitation to join the tour, David supposedly told Danny, "You're not funny. Nothing you do is funny". This was not meant as an insult, but to give Danny focus.
My mom, dad, and I all watched the partridge family every week night when it first aired. Still today I listen to those songs from that fictional group with real lead singer David cassidy. That was a once in a lifetime show and cast that I think will never be equlled. Oh, how I wished we had those kinds of shows today. Television isn't terrible today, but unfortunately, it to me just isn't as good and well written as those shows were. Here's to you David and Danny, you gave us thirty minutes of pure entertainment when entertainment was priority one, not political indoctrination in some shows today.
Hey Dave, it's Gera. RUclips never shows you to me much on my channel anymore, but here you are on this one! Great video but a Danny PS would've been nice. Is Danny still with us? I lose track, so many old familiar faces have passed.
I liked the Partridge Family. Good comedy; great dialogue. Whereas the Bradys seemed an extension of the 1950s' sitcom in 70s' clothes, the Partridges were more topical. I was not as precocious as the Danny Partridge character (a couple years older in real life yet playing around my age) but I tried to be the family clown because of him.
I'm still subscribed to you, but I NEVER get any notifications when you have something new! I've missed so much! Loved the Partridge Family. I don't think I had any favorites when I was a teen, I liked them all. After the series ended, I followed Susan Dey for a bit, right before she "disappeared". She did a movie called "Looker" which, I thought, was a very different kind of scifi movie.......and I loved it. I had hoped she would have gone into that genre for other movies like that, but I never saw here again after that movie. Danny popped up in the news as being naughty, as you said....being listed as a "bad boy". He was only "bad" because he had no one to lean on and confide in while he was going thru a tough time in life. Danny did a few short gigs on TV. I watched his show about criminal acts......something akin to Americas Dumbest Criminals. I didn't find it listed on his IMDB page, so maybe its something he wants to forget doing. Now I hear Danny has had brain surgery. Tough life man. Love the guy to bits, but he's had a rough ride in life, which I don't envy at all. I'm glad David was there for him, and I'm sure he's keeping to his promises to David now he's gone. Thanks to you Mr. Dave, you keep us up to date and in the know........and keep those we love and appreciate alive for the world to see and hear. These people will never really die, as long as you and your followers that take after you, fill the internet with awesome nostalgic content!
And...I've missed your comments. Thanks for the comments. Like you, I really enjoyed Susan Dey in "Looker". From everything I've heard, Danny is doing much better after his surgery. Hopefully, he'll be with us for a good long time.
Danny B. knew how to be entertaining and seemed like a genuinely good guy. Unfortunately his demons seemed to be too heavy a burden for him. Edit to add: I know he's still with us; I'm referring to his very public earlier times.
Dave do you remember the Partridge Family 2200 A.D. cartoon which was originally proposed to be an updated version of the Jetsons, in which Elroy would be a teenager and Judy would have a steady job as an ace reporter. CBS, under the leadership of Fred Silverman, disgarded the idea and decided to make an animated version of The Partridge Family instead. The Partridge Family had already been recurring characters on a previous Hannah-Barbera production, Goober and the Ghost Chasers. 🛸🪐🌌🙋
I can't believe it's been that long since David passed. Time is really flying by. I think one of the reasons so many of us liked Danny in the show is because he was the closest to us in age. And we all have a secret rebel streak that wants to get one over on a grown up!😊
Danny's father, I heard Dave, was a writer on All in the Family, which ironically the Patridge Family went up against Saturday night in 1973. Of course, the Partridges lost the battle to Archie Bunker
Danny Bonaduce went through a lot of challenges throughout his life, but he came out on top. He appears to be a genuine person that struggled with inner demons. He's a fighter and a true talent. The world is lucky to have him in it and the show allowed his talents to shine.
I remember when Jonathon Brandmeier from AM 1000 in Chicago had Danny on and Danny talked about his troubles with addiction. Then Danny got a job on the weekends. It was a fun time to listen to the radio. Jonathon Brandmeier, Kevin Matthews, and Steve Dahl and Garry Meier kept me tuned in all day long, until I moved out of range.
@@Mark.G475 I lived in Oak Creek WI and we were close enough that we could pick up on several TV and radio stations. We had a rotating antenna and that was how I became a huge Doctor Who fan via channel 11. But some stations, like 32 and 44 we could pick up without having to rotate so was a huge Son of Svengoolie fan and some of the Japanese shows 44 would air.
One of my favorite Partridge Family stories was one time David got tired of being on the set. Danny in particular was driving him crazy! So he drags Danny with him and the two of them take a drive in the Partridge Family bus around Screen Gems studios to cool off! This video was a heartwarming story about David’s generosity towards Danny, Dave. And I’m glad this time you said “You know, the good stuff!”
I remember when Danny and Barry Williams had a celebrity boxing match. Barry was no match for Danny. Poor Barry got pounded. Danny truly expressed regret that Barry got such a beating.
I never liked the Danny Partridge character, but I've always liked Danny Bonaduci's resilience. And while we're at it... I thought the original Chris was fine: the new one seemed too rehearsed...
Danny recently made an appearance on the Real Brady Bros podcast. The show ran more than an hour. I was surprised that he appeared, as I had gotten the idea (probably due to their boxing matches) that they didn't like each other much. Their show was a lot of fun.
What really sad is David died a very serious alcoholic. In his last years he was on the Celebrity Apprentice and if you go back and watch it he was visibly intoxicated on air. There was even an episode where he called his daughter to make an appearance and it was very clear their relationship was strained in some way. He was a good guy and while there were still a lot of people who cared about him, towards the end he was very alone.
Going back to 1969, on the UK edition of This is your life for Shirley Jones, both Jack and David were on it and you can feel the tension. Really hard to watch.

Must have been tough for David to tell Danny that he can't drink and then

The radio station mentioned was AM 1000 in Chicago. Known as 'The Loop'. A comedy talk radio station, that was perfect for Bonaduce.
