😂 I still listen to this all the time. Over 20 years. The whole Ridin' Dirty album is a classic. Diamonds & wood, Murda, One day ya here, high life, Pinky ring, 3 n tha mornin, fuck my car ,and good stuff all go hard. Classic.
At the time you got the best verses from UGK, OutKast and 8 Ball and MJG! Protect and Serve, Riding Dirty and 3 in the morning along with Coming Out Hard by MJG & Ball should be on your radar
I'll never forget I was 10 years old in 96' and my sister husband played this album in his Cadillac and from that day moving forward I was a UGK fan. Pimp C's production was unmatched and Bun's word play was incredible. You might as well do a reaction to the whole album, High Life was another samsh
Pocketful Of Stones is the jam by UGK also Diamonds & Wood, That's Why I Carry, One Day, don't forget Playas From The South featuring Master P and Silkk, then Break Em Off featuring Master P. In fact, Playas From The South will be one of those bangers y'all want to blast on the 12's
Mannnn you just don't know... I was stationed in Texas when this came out!!!! Straight hard....riding to this and the parties was straight lit to this!!!!
It literally hurts my heart how the younger generation know nothing about the past music. Us older Gs gotta start putting the soldiers in position to be taught like we were 🤘🏽💯
Summer of 96, I am 26 years old. I bought this CASSETTE tape when it first came out for $8.99. 3 o'clock in the morning, I'm at the gas station bumping this song. A dude walks up to me and offers me $30 for my tape. I tell him HELL NAW!
What made Bun B's verse so incredible, is that he changed up his flow and rhyme scheme about 5 times. Everybody could recite Pimp C's verse, because it was so raw. But Pimp kept his rhyme scheme fairly simple. Bun just went crazy on his verse. He doesn't have the memorable lines like Pimp had, but the way he was switching up his flow was crazy. At the parties, it was the Greeks who loved this song.
Y'all reaction to Bun's verse is everyone's reaction when they hear it for the first time. Pimp did his numbers too, but Bun was something different. For more Houston Texas Country Rap Tunes, react to Chucky Trill ft JDawg-Streets Don't Love a Soul, Slim Thug ft Zro and JDawg-Associates and No Love, Scarface- A Minute To Pray and A Second to Die, Zro-Respect My Mind, Tired ft Mya, and The Mule ft Juvenile and Devin Da Dude, Jdawg Ride On 4's, 1st 48 ft Slim Thug, and Foreva and A Day.
Also I think yah need to hear one of the greatest posse cuts of a generation REMEMBER THE TITANS- (in order) Fabolous , Joe Budden, Lloyd Banks , Royce Da 5’9 It’s heat my guys HEAT
I clicked then watched.. lol. New sub. I like what you fella'a are doing. For the sista's.. MC Lyte " Poor Georgie", and "Cha cha cha", Yo Yo/Ice Cube "Bonnie and Clyde theme" and "Mama don't take no mess", Queen Latifah "Latifah's had it up to here", Lady of Rage "Afro puffs" for starters. I have more Old school gems for yall.
i just got to mention a couple things to yall. This album was the first hiphop album produced on pro tools. they woke Bun B(second verse) up at like 2am and told him it was his turn to drop his verse. He went in the booth and spit that verse in one take, said scratch that, gimme one more, and the second take he layed that fire down. Now regarding your first pause reaction and the 2 twelves in the trunk, When this album came out, we would ride in the 84 cutty, 2 15's in the trunk, pounding down the block. I can still remember the feeling. Glad yall enjoy.
Bro, keep in mind that is the second song on the CD, had to pull over and jump out the car like WTF!!!!! The song hits even harder if you understand all the slang they spitting like being "wet" (gone off that water) knowing how many ounces in a byrd (36oz) but he stretched it to 50. Riding dirty had us in chokehold. When you talk real street numbers like that it can't be denied. That's why Thug Motivation 101 took off
