Straight Facts
I was just about to say there's no wrong answer... being from Texas... I'm a Pimp C guy... I love OutKast tho...but I still listen to UGK till this day.
Hella facts
neither went past gold outkast did
Facts!
Ugk kept that underground street sound and if you pay attention pimp c influence is still in hip hop with fashion jewelry and lingo

Pimp C is wack
@@chazbrown5800 that’s false

outkast sold more in one album than ugk whole catalog😂
@@ninobrown90You’re laughing, but that’s why their name is UGK, they were really the Underground Kings. Pimp C didn’t really want to be outside of that because he always wanted to be in control of their sound and lyrics. It almost took an Act of Congress for Pimp C to do Big Pimpin’ with Jay Z, let alone the music video. I said all of this just in case you didn’t understand, and if you didn’t notice, not one person considered the number of record sales…
@@ninobrown90Nobody putting on outkast for fun 😂

That’s a hard one but I’m Houston I’m riding with house. UGK
It should’ve been UGK or 8Ball & MJG
Tough one
Exactly..this was a bad matchup
I agree with that

Disagree. You can still compare OutKast and UGK to eachother.
“Under ground kings” for sure
Half the people from Atlanta said OutKast bro R.I.P Pimp C rest in power UGK ALL DAY EVERYDAY 🙏🏽
Exactly

Yo I bet half these young folks don’t know what UGK is short for
I grew up on UGK lived and went to school in Texas as a kid now live in GA. Outkast came along and had that flare and sound that no one could F with. We have to remember that OutKast is the group that got on stage and announced the south amongst a crowd of West Coast vs East Coast beef. From that point on… “the south got some to say”. Both major pioneers in the game…. F it I’ll take a shot.
respect to outkast, but i go with UGK
Pimp C one of my favourite MCs
Growing up in the 90s we used to have this problem but lol thank God for CD changers we could load up UGK, Outkast, Eightball and MJG, and Geto Boys and ride thru Houston so it's UGK 4 life for me
UGK were true underground kingz. A lot of ppl really don’t know how deep their influence goes. Even on this clip dude said OutKast did more, UGK didn’t have enough time, when in actuality UGK hit first and dropped the same amount of official albums. Then they say Andre did more for the south making it ok to b diff. When even Andre himself have said that when Pimp C came he made it acceptable to sound country n b yourself
I don’t agree with Danny Brown’s comment. He said UGK didn’t have enough time. They been out since 1992. That’s a long time.
They was out before OutCast
@@zztv15 Yep. Even Outkast said that they were listening to them in high school when Too Hard To Swallow dropped.

Love UGK, but it's Outkast for me hands down and I grew up on them both!
This the only one I would have to take a shot.

Ugk rest in power and respect pimp c
Outkast hands down for me and I'm from the South so I like both. But NOBODY compares to ANDRE 3K...he might be the most creative lyricist of ALL TIME.
Please 😂 Pimp C the hardest artist behind Scarface
I said CREATIVE not HARDEST. Andre 3K verse smoked all them niggas on International Players Anthem. It wasn't even close.
@@A.D.907Not about the hardest, lyrically Pimp ain't touching 3 stacks
@markdyer6322 That's cap. Whatever song you name by Outkast, I have a song by UGK as a group and solo that's lyrically better
International Players Anthem.....

Outkast is arguably the Goat duo..not a fair question
The goat duo .. better than mobb deep? 🤔
@@Johnnyboycarter7I love Mobb Deep but they only reach to a certain audience like a hardcore rap audience. Outkast and UGK music were more melodic. Bun and Big Boi are MCs including Andre. Outkast and Pimp C were producers and also Pimp and Andre sing on hooks.

Nah, your instincts are correct.
OUTKAST!
UGK has more impact underground in the streets. OutKast was more mainstream… Bun was right up under 3k in rapping ability. And I’d take Pimp C over Big Boi. I’d go with UGK. Their songs play in the club more til this day. But Nat’l players anthem is a Classic! Glad they collaborated and made the video

Depends on what you live. UGK. Was more street. OutKast more commercial
I feel like thats part of why Snoop said UGK cuz the Cali lifestyle has always been know to be more street especially during those times. Thats's why they fked with Geto Boys heavy also

Eight ball & MJG came before UGK and OutKast for me. The crazy part ALL them cats hung tight and still do to a certain degree. Oh yeah throw in Triple six. They all collabed at some point, made their way to “the dungeon” and made hits and even lived in ATL. At the end of the day drink up!

@@reddmann311 ain’t no shade. This video is trying to shade UGK. They didn’t ask anyone from Texas, especially Houston where UGK is from. But they asked several people from Atlanta. That makes that an unfair advantage. If you go to LA and ask them to choose between ice cube or ll cool j, cube will always win. But if you ask that same question in New York, ll is always going to win. That’s my point
UGK is amazing no question but ever since Andre said "The South's got somethin to say" the hip hop world was never the same. Gotta go with Outkast.
It should've been the Top Duo's of UGK,OutKast & 8Ball MJG.... All 3 ♾

Problem with Ugk they never progressed and rapped about the same stuff.
Outkast progressed lyrically musically in their records.
So Just because couple of dudes in your hood preferred hearing song about "Street life", doesn't discredit outkast's legacy towards the south.
I swear yall say the same thing about eminem, even tho he's the best rapper.
@@SavertonJrTo say they never "progressed"'is an extremely undeserved discredit to the integerity of work of those two brothers man. No need to put those men down like that to lift someone up above them.

This 🔥 I love both I’m from Texas so it’s UGK , glad i was able to grow up on both.
Let's honest. Outkast is lyrically light years ahead of UGK. As far as all around content, again Outkast.
Due to the passing of Pimp C, their is no more UGK. Andre 3000 & Big Boi can always do another album together.
This is a bad matchup anyway. A much better comparison would be Eightball & MJG vs. UGK vs. Poison Clan vs. Three 6 Mafia.
I'm going to have to disagree with the statement of "light years lyrically of UGK. They aren't light years ahead of Bun B. If you havent listened yo UGK for real then your comment couldn't have any merit, bc you don't even know what you're talking about at this point.

Best believe, as a duo, OutKast is lyrically light-yesrs ahead of UGK and has way more content. On the real, UGK vs. OutKast is not good comparisons anyway. UGK vs. Eightball & MJG is a better comparison and then, Eightball & MJG has the edge on UGK.

Most of the people he ask was from Atlanta anyway. Thats like asking Houston rap artists this same question. So Atlanta gone ride with Atlanta. Pimp C dissed Atlanta on the radio anyway. It left a lot of people feeling salty.
It's not true we love ugk 8 ball and mjg, but outkast is worldwide, and that is the difference
I hear you bro. UGK got a lot of hits. If pimp c wasn’t in prison they would have put out a lot of music and having issues with there label. I just didn’t see the concept of asking Atlanta artists on there platform. We already knew who they was gone pick. That’s like asking Scarface, or slim thug. They gone pick UGK. They asking 2chains, migos etc. UGK got the votes from east coast and west coast kats.
