Introduction to Metering Modes on Canon Cameras

I wish canon offered a way to move the spot in spot metering maybe to the focus point even that would make it way more convenient to use

There is a clunky workaround by metering and then recomposing while having locked the exposure. Let me know if this works.
1. Set the Metering Mode to Spot
2. Lock the Exposure and point the center of the frame at the area you want to meter.
3. Press the exposure lock button and recompose your shot while holding the exposure lock.
4.Take the Photo
