Dear Nirmal, Thank you for your question. I would suggest that you go through the following competencies: - the ability to draw UML diagrams - the ability to know how to elicit requirements from stakeholders (see IREB's learning materials on requirements engineering) - the ability to properly manage stakeholders (check out IIBA's BABOK learning materials) - technical knowledge (you don't necessarily have to program a new app, but it's always an advantage if you understand the basics of programming). Sometimes it doesn't have to be a programming language, in some areas of business analysis infrastructural skills like IT administrator fundamental skills are a great asset - sometimes knowledge of how to manage application lifecycle or API lifecycle is great asset too - Last but not least, don't underestimate soft skills (soft skills are one of the most valuable skills in your portfolio when applying to be an IT Business Analyst). The ability to successfully communicate with the business and IT is valued in any company. Hope this helps you, Cheers
What a concise content, congrats @Frenktalks . I´m a Senior Project Manager in transition career to Requirements Engineering. Do you mind where can I find a training/track that prepares to IREB Certificate? In your point of view: which ones IREB Certificates guarantee a job in Switzerland or France? I speak English, French. Thank you!
Dear Luis Henrique, I think you get real chances in finishing the IREB Foundation level and later doing the IIBA certificates (one of them, which is ECBA or even better CCBA). Having both will certainly expand your potential. I think in Swiss market the experience counts above all certificates. If you somehow "precise" and "concise" can show your real value, experience in previous jobs as also can provide some "proof" and provide some good reviews about you from your recent employers, you have all what you need for this job. If you focus on English speaking works, then I would suggest to focus on Pharmaceutical, Banking or Insurance industry. hope this helps 😊
Thank you so much@@frenktalks4502 It would be so relevant if you produce a video about essential skills (for professional in transition career who want) to get a job in Requirement Engineering and Business Analysis.
Thanks for your feedback@@LuisHenrique-vx4fp We are certainly planning to upload more content on Requirements Engineering as also Business Analysis. Stay tuned
Hi Frenk. Thank you for sharing this content. I work as BA since 2016 and this year I would like to do Certification because I'm planning to move to UK. I also would like to improve me requirements gathering skills. Wich Certification do you recommend?
Dear Tânia, Thanks for asking. I would consider IIBA Entry Level certification and then go for CBAP (higher level of certification with IIBA), since you already have worked since 2016 as BA, you would fulfill most of the requirements for sure to make the advanced certification. With CBAP you will definitely be valuable on the EU market (even in German speaking countries, where the IREB is more valuated) Requirements elicitation could be improved with help of IREB certification Hope that helps Best regards
Got interested in ‘Business Analyst Certifications’? ☑️ here’s the brief overview of them to make the right decision 🤍
Thanks for the advice!

Thank you for this short video Frenk. Can you brief a little about the tools specialization any business analyst must have?
