As of 12/26, filing your BOI Report is voluntary, pending legal challenges. But I encourage people to file their report so they don’t have to worry about it changing.

You are right that there is currently an injunction, due to a Texas Fed court ruling. But other Federal courts have found this law constitutional, and it WILL be appealed, and the chances are non-zero that the injunction will be overturned. You can do what you want, and if you don't mind setting up a google alert to stay on top of the court news, go for it. But most accountants, including me, recommend filing, so you are guaranteed to avoid a $500/day penalty if the injunction is overturned. But you do you!
You seem to know the future. How do you know it will be appealed??? And besides, why give the government any more information than one has too? You ID will be databased and scanned for biometric information. Not too smart in my book to "voluntarily" file.
Actually there is a case out of Texas that the Feds have said it is now NOT required and the deadline is stayed for now. So don’t stress everyone for the end of year rush. Not everyone wants the feds in their business if they don’t have to.

I dont see how this is Constitutional. If it was, then why so many giants corps are being exempt ? Someone should challenge that.
