I waited around too long and missed the first batch. I am pretty excited to get one ordered. I have over a dozen 24's and 1/18s. I have been waiting for the perfect 1/10 to come along, and this is it! Thanks for the content, and warning brother!
I bought a "second batch" and found the front u-joints have been changed to a pressed version and the pinion screw (front and rear) is definitely thread-locked. All greased (but not enough). All the metal to metal are also thread-locked and if one tries to remove them, use heat CAREFULLY or one will strip the heads on the bolts. Ask me how I know !!!!! ...... LOL Great video and you are not the only one to experience the minor problems that happen. It's part of the game ..... LOL Great video and thank you !!!! 🙂
My son bought a 2nd batch Fusion and that pinion-to-shaft screw came out on the trail. Had it thread-locked and running in minutes, followed by hours of problem free crawling, but goes to show that it's still worth taking apart before running to at least check how snug everything is, and when needed, soak hardware in alcohol or brake cleaner before applying thread-lock. Definitely pack more grease in those differential cases and also the portal boxes, not enough from factory. ✌🏼
That sucks about the screw breaking, but trust me, I have wave 1 and I have snapped the pins in my CVDs three times already.... I am glad to see that they are addressing the issues that people have found. Looking forward to your first run! Earned a Sub from me!
I have the Red Ascent & that screw you broke has fallen out 2 times now if it’s tight I’d leave it. I’m actually waiting right now for my Fusion to be delivered today & I have a bunch of parts coming. It’s a great rig at that price.
Yeah, it's my first 1/10 scale crawler. Even though I broke the parts which are coming in on the thirteenth. I do really like the truck. Congratulations on yours as well.
It sucks that you broke the screw but thanks for doing this. I just bought one and i was on the verge of doing this. I looked at the little grub screw on the axles and they were very tight so i'll assume the ones on the pinion gears should be tight too. Thanks
It looks good....hate it broke on you but risk was worth it I guess lol...at least we know not to try to take that screw out Swems to be a solid truck from my pov....will definitely be getting one Probably will add marine grease to what needs greasing as well

Happy you guys were able to enjoy the day. I'll definitely Get to the differential, grease and portal axles when I get a chance.

you hit the nail on the head...why is the diff pinion 2 piece anyway? I just got done loctite'n everything on my first run ascent fusion.
They have the diff pinion in one gear on RedCat.com It's just out of stock.
Hi . Where in Europe i could buy this car?thanks
Thanx for the update, rather wait for the front gear before running it as you can strip the gear on the diff if it goes out of alignment.
You're a 100%, right? I have been waiting impatiently. Parts are coming from RedCat and fedex says it'll be here on the thirteenth. 🤞🏼
What rotation stand are you using?
It's one that I got off of Amazon. It's from Injora. But I can't find it now.
Great review….still love my VRD better than the Fusion..
