My mother used to use shoe polish on the grout. She was a cleaning maniac&her house was always immaculate. She even cleaned before the cleaning lady came! That bathroom tile was the whitest in town ( tiny hexagon tiles).
painting the grout lines a different color makes such a HUGE difference!! it makes the painted tile look a million times better. this turned out so good! nice work! saving for future reference 😊
I always start a roller by saturating it with the paint, squeeze all the excess out, then roll it on the tray til it's painting more evenly. Saves a lot of time and pain!
This is really great!! We cannot afford to re tile our bathroom floor so I was looking for other options. My husband wants black and white checkers so we shall see how that goes lol I am contemplating black grout lines but will keep mowing it over. Thanks for the tips!!
It’s the grout that’s a pain in the keester. I’ve done it years ago the darken light grout in a tiny bathroom and it held up really well in a home with one bathroom. Great job ladies. Oh, by the way whoever laid that tile in her bathroom did a perfect job. That work has held up really well.
@@tomiep6880 I painted the grout in my old bathroom. There is a product specific for this at Home Depot. I had beige ceramic tile with light grout and I painted the grout a medium brown. The grout is made of a very textured grittiness so the paint adhere very well. I never had to redo it and while I was doing it I immediately wiped off any excess that was on the tile so it wouldn’t adhere to the tile. It made the tile work look more finished and not just like dirty grout. It lasted for years until I sold that home.

An angled paint brush (like a makeup brush) would be really helpful with the grout lines. The floor came out great! Can paint withstand shower grout? Thanks for making this!
Clorox toilet cleaner with spout top is really good for whitening shower tile grout ( if you have white grout 😊). It's the blue stuff. Let it sit a while. The blue doesn't stain.
Looks amazing! Question though - Seeing that the existing grout lines were already grey in color - Couldn't you have just taped over them before you painting the tile? Or would method made the edges prone to chipping?

You can definitely do accent tiles - I did a pretty detailed pattern in my own bathroom. Just don't put too much paint on your roller/brush and tape if/when you can. The gray/white is pretty thick but the top coat is much more watery, so just be aware of that!
