Thanks for the video! I have been searching around for owner info on this camcorder since I discovered it. I picked up a Z6 in HK last year and it does quite well with videos and I was really surprised by it. It's just a bit cumbersome for doing handheld videos. I got a cage, microphone and monitor and now it is even more cumbersome. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
Great video to show the capabilities of the camera. Did you color corrected the video in post production? Or are these images coming out straight out of the camera as you showed them here? Thanks!
Is it possible to control more things with the ring during recording? For example, zoom, click-through, exposure, aperture, or sound level when recording via the 3.5 jack? Or can only one option be assigned to the ring and the ring cannot be used for another during recording? Thank you for your response
HCX1500 is a professional video machine. It has customizable buttons (iris, shutter, ISO⋯⋯) in manual mode, but it needs to be reminded that when in automatic mode, the focusing ability is only 100%. In manual mode ( Face tracking and continuous tracking will be invalid).
your textual notes were displayed far too short for the number of words you had in the paragraphs. This makes it difficult for viewers to read. It's fine if you're a speed reader and can zip through everything. But I have a hunch that most people like me will make it through half the paragraph before it switches over either to another block of text, or a video scene. I'd strongly suggest use of a tripod or monopod. Handheld has become far too commonplace in filmmaking. It wasn't so long ago that handheld shooting was considered amateur. It still is. It's hard to watch and difficult to enjoy with the footage wandering all over the place onscreen. It's even more challenging for someone who like me, might have issues with vertigo. Handheld shoots are exceptionally hard for people with visual impairments and issues like vertigo. The issues with your video comparison is white balance. It looks and appears that you took the camera and started shooting straight out of the box. To get the best color, the best saturation, gamma, lighting and overall good composition balance the camera should be manually white balanced. Or, you should have used the auto white balance mode. The colors and images would be brighter and sharper. It also looks like you do not have a UV filter on the lens. UV filters reduces and eliminates certain UV lights that makes videos look a bit off and even muddy, or slightly out of focus. On bright sunlit days the ND filter Settings are paramount and helps with overall image balancing. The camera is fitted with a "focus assist mode." this means that you can actually take manual control to direct the camera's eye to focus on specific details that are being overlooked by the auto focus even when the camera is in full auto focus. By manually changing the focus by turning the focus ring on the lens, the camera will begin searching for different areas in an image to focus on. Once your target is in focus you just release the focusing ring and let the camera's auto focus take control again. Focus assist works by temporarily interrupting the auto focus so that you can concentrate and direct the camera's attention on what you would like focused in better detail. I struggled with your handheld shots and they triggered vertigo events, which in turn, triggers migraine headaches. This is an overall good video. Give more time for your textual descriptors and allow them to play for at least 2 to 3 seconds longer. Study the owner's manual, look up reviews and tutorials about your camera. Get to know it and above all, practice, practice, practice. Thanks for the review.
I just bought one of these and Tis is easily the best footage I’ve seen so far.

I have color-corrected the video in post-production, and these images are not taken directly from the camera.
Excellent

Thanks for the video.
Did you grade your clips or are these the original?
👍
Хоть у меня такая же камера, но мне как то не нравится как она снимает, я бы не дал что она снимает в 4К не за что, вот в 1080р- точно дал 5 звёзд.
