- This shipspotting video was shot on 7th July 2024 and captures the luxury explorer yacht "OCTOPUS" on a sea trial on the river Weser after an extensive overhaul at LLOYD WERFT in Bremerhaven, Germany.
OCTOPUS, valued at around $285 million dollars, has now entered the charter market following significant refurbishments at the LLOYD WERFT shipyard. This video shows "OCTOPUS" taking a sea trial early in the morning before returning to the shipyard for final touches later that afternoon.
The 126-meter yacht, originally delivered to Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft, in 2003, features a hangar for two helicopters, a 19-meter-long tender, and a submarine for eight people. Side hatches above the waterline serve as garages for smaller tenders and jet skis.

For my money still the greatest superyacht in existence. Surpassed in length and tonnage maybe, but not in class or reputation.
Thanks for watching - I agree, she is a classic.
Certainly the most interesting.
