Great video, and good to see a focus on cask ales. Love the 2 bucket system on the stovetop BIAB for recirc and sprag - definitely will be having a go on my keggle BIAB set up. With a mini-series on cask ales it would be great if you could also do a video on a beer engine dispensing setup, and a beer handle would be a great traditional addition to your wall of beer taps 😁
For me the return to traditional styles is the Central European lager beers so I really appreciate, as a homebrewer, all of us doing our best to revive those time tested beers that have been overshadowed by all these overhopped fruitjuice concoctions/s.
Great video guys, glad I found your channel. I home brew English style beers here in the States and have a beer engine from PINT 365, I use a corny keg, what carbonation should i use with the hand pump. Should I just use priming sugar in keg? And then very light head pressure to keep beer good?? Cheers!
I’m in exactly the same boat as you lads - whenever I see the instruction to cold crash, I ain’t doing it as I’m scared of oxygen intake especially on those sensitive to that. I haven’t tried the birthday balloon yet (effort…) and part of me is drawn towards pressure. I know the EXACT feeling. PV=nRT gents.
Thanks 🍺 We generally ferment in pressure vessels these days so it’s not an issue until we return to more traditional methods! Not tried the balloon technique but the most recent we’ve heard of is running a much longer blowoff tube, or running the tube into a second (empty) fermenter and then a second tube out of that into the sanitiser 🧐 Either way I’m not coming a cropper on that again!
Thanks for this gents. I’m looking forward to getting on with my first brew, and the thought of the upcoming golden ale is threatening to double my subscribers on Only Fans. As much as I love Stouts, Porters and the odd trendy craft beer, there’s a huge amount to be said for attempting drinking a gallon of Fullers London Pride (the only Pride that’s going to slip down my throat) whilst in London or Shepherd Neame Spitfire in my birth county of Kent whilst watching the test match. I actually don’t mind drinking the odd traditional ale nice and cold with a bit of extra carbonation in the heat of summer. I do, however, thoroughly object to the northern (particularly Yorkshire) habit of bastardising good beer by running it through with nitrogen, particularly when they also seem obsessed with giving you massive heads (general big-headedness being a dreadful trait of Yorkshire men). I was in Sheffield once and they had Kentish Spitfire on as a guest ale, but imagine my horror when I was faced with something like half a pint of beer milkshake topped up with shaving foam. It’s not British I tell you. It’s lucky we fought the Boche in the Battle of Britain in the skys over God’s county of Kent as the outcome could have been very different if we’d have sent our boys up with that shit in their stomachs. They might have got The Bends or something.

@@TankardBrewing Hey TB, I’m assuming you’re taking the Mick with how you’ve written the reply in “Yorkshire phonetics”. I hope so anyway otherwise you must be the world’s worst typist! Enjoyed watching your beer videos. I’ve got the basic kits, I just need to get brewing.
@@alanmorris8783yes Alan thought your comment was hilarious so thought I’d come back all Yorkshire and stuff! Get to it mate summers round the corner 🤘happy brewing mate
“I’m a Kent man. I say what I like and I like what I bloody well say!” A lot valid points and I can’t wait for a Yorkshireman to find his way to the comments section! You still haven’t brewed?! Blimey, giddy up son - you may have two OnlyFans subs by the time you get a brew over the line 🍺

Thanks for watching, we certainly plan to feature a beer engine in a couple of months 🍺
Fantastic thanks, look forward to seeing if 👍

Cheers to that amigo 🍺

Big bloody don 😂😂😂😂 bring on the cask brews boys, best blooming’ style in’t world!
As you can tell, this was filmed before you became Tankard! Every trad brew from now will feature Big Don 🍊
So adding sanitiser doesn't create a cleaner finish then!
Haha definitely not!
I love unfermented amber ale for an isotonic drink.
Or it’s evil twin….wort n whisky 👌
Great work guys. BTW spelt Masham pronouced Massum by locals. The sanitiser should give you a good clear out.
Cheers amigo 🍺

Great video guys 👍 who won the competition from last video??
WTF sanitizer in a beer! Goodbye.
Yeah, was emotional. It’s now surging out to sea.
