RUclips crushes my soul. You watch certain videos for a decade then an artist that means so much to you from a past life does this and you realize 10 years are gone and you’re living the same ol life, just with less time, regardless of all you’ve gone through. What a performance and what a time to be alive.
@@liamhopkins29 It's crazy. We just don't have the time to stop and appreciate anything, it's gone so fast. That's why John Anderson's "Years" hits the heart with such ferocity. "They kinda just roll by like tears..." I think music is a nice way to unwind and stop to appreciate so much in this world, and bring us together in nostalgia. I hope you have a great 2023! 🍻
This keeps happening to me lately. I'm "only" 29, and often feel like I'm hanging from the side of a freight train. I can't find the strength to pull myself up and just sit back and if not enjoy the journey, at least not fear it. And I can't let go either, cause I wouldn't survive the fall.
Same here. Where was this guy back then. Why didn't I hear then. I just hope he meets success again so I can hear more. So original. And great voice and strumming.
Man, I have been listening to Shakey for a while now, maybe 6 or 7 years, hadn't heard his newer stuff in the last few years. He always sounds phenomenal and absolutely unique. Funny that this pops up first in my feed out of nowhere, from the Big Sky sessions; I just got to Montana (Big Sky Country) last week, about to work the sugar beet harvest and he's wearing a sugar shack hat... The break room on our job site is called the sugar shack haha. Funny the neat little synchronicities that life throws you sometimes.
Whether Shakey is trying to hide his intentions with fancy words or being as blunt as he can, his music always resonates within the depths of me, and so many others. Inspiring, honest, beautiful. I've never cried so much from hearing someone sing. But more amazing is his catalog - not a bad song to be found. (Thanks J Manly!)
I could feel this one deep in my bones. Shakey never ceases to hit me right in the feels...but this one....chills every time. I've had the pleasure and joy of seeing this incredible human 8 times now...and every single time is nothing short of breathtaking.
Like many, I've found him through his legendary "Roll The Bones" video. He keeps inspiring me with his playing style. What a musician! Lyrics below folks. I'll get those chords tomorrow, but as you see, not as easy in this one. Some weird tuning it seems and lots and lots of picking. Some D, F#m und B7 it seems if you wanna start somewhere. [Verse 1] Well, did you hear the news Your dreams ain't coming true He can't really fly, he's hanging from a wire What worries me, no one ever noticed he Was passing round the hat and preaching to the choir [Interlude] [Verse 2] Well, did you hear the news Nothing fun is good for you He don't know a thing, this man is just a liar Looks like the votes are in And nothing seems to matter when They're passing round the hat and preaching to the choir [Chorus] I've never been so I've never been so Low down Oh I never felt so Never felt so far from home til now [Verse 3] So did you hear the news Is there nothing we can do That old red white and blue set the place on fire Stick to the tried and true You'll be okay as long as you Keep passing round the hat and preaching to the choir [Interlude] [Chorus] I've never been so I've never felt so Low down Oh I never felt so Never felt so far from home til now [Interlude] [Bridge] Oh I never felt so far from home til now I can break, I can bend I can say I was there when I can break, I can bend I can say I was there when I can break, I can bend I can say I was here when I can say I was here when
Okay folks, gave it a shot and with these chords below, you're at least in the right ballpark. Almost impossible to play it like he does I'd say. This song is originally played on a baritone 8 string guitar in B E A D F# B tuning.
