- Austin, TX based musician Shakey Graves is no stranger to sold out shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Before the pandemic Shakey Graves would perform multiple nights at the famed venue to crowds singing every tune and in 2023 it's no different. The singer-songwriter made a triumphant return to the Amphitheatre performing new songs written during the pandemic and old favorites. Before the show we got a special preview of the night to come with an exclusive stripped down set in Red Rocks artist dressing room.
Setlist:
1. "Ready or Not"
2. "The Donor Blues"
3. "Was Here"

Reminds me of Eric Clapton in the older years.
That's a compliment.
Your song "Roll the bones" changed my life.
I found a lady friend that had a son and was cheated on and abused. So after a bit we moved in together.
I have a wonderful wife, an amazing step son and now another son.
All because I heard that song the same day I asked if they would like to live with me. Sorry to rant but thanks dude.
Please cover Dwight Yoakum " A thousand miles from no where."
If not no worries.
Donor Blues, hearing it for the first time in a WHILE, brought back some pretty nostalgic memories for me.. beautiful
Same man. I still remember the first time I heard it while on my buddies couch stoned out of my mind. Listened to the whole album just sitting there alone. It was an experience I’ll never forget. It’s not often that music stops you dead in your tracks.
This take is RIGHTEOUS!
“Was here” beautiful
My life is complete, Shakey and Sierra, I can die happy.
shakey referencing the postal service is incredible
Heard both of these artist. Solo both of them got something special. Shakey with the good texts and sierra ferrell with the smoothest voice. i love you guys so much-
Sierra+Shakey = Watch the Throne of folk/country
Shakey! You lucky son of a gun! Sierra is a jewel and that's so wonderful that both of you were able to get together to make some great sounds. THANK YOU BOTH!
L.p"
Absolutely love this! Got to catch the show at the Rialto theater in Tucson, Arizona. Stood next to somebody from Austin who knew Mr. Garcia personally. This reminds me of her stories of hanging out at campfires and house parties before fame rolled any bones. Super sweet, thank you!
Was here. Song is powerful. Thank you Shakey (oh and I saw you many yrs ago at the Sisters Folk Festival)!!
I love you shake... sometimes one door closes so that another door can open. My cousin is now a huge fan. He listens to you all the time. I've been listening to you back in the old days of Shakey Graves.. and ever since..love you and your music.... pretty much your number one fan. Let me know when you want me to start the #ShakeyGravesFanClub

"Word of mouth" may have been your best work.
shakey graves on audiotree live and sierra ferrell on gemsonvhs
Ready or not here comes the weekend. No way man you stole the words.
Has his style slowed down compared to 8 years ago? He used to seem more upbeat and full of life
Please come out with a live performance cd of your "greatest hits". Oh, and you're so cute still.
what's with the standard tuning haha
I’m thinking standard is easier to work with on tour lol
the swede
Too serious too deep .
The howlin kid took me to some kinda land of the unforgettable.
You have an extremely high intelligence level on like to talk. The things you talked about her really important and true.
Bro looks 6’4 or sierra is just 5 feet tall 😂
She is a shorty, but he is also taller than you'd think
I think you would be like on the a-list if you didn't talk so much. And I'm not trying to be a Reddit troll.
Loved the first two songs. It's too bad you brought your political views onto this stage in such a direct way as to make me not want to listen to you anymore. I am sure you don't realize how offensive you are when you make overturning Rowe V Wade seem like a tyrannical move against everything that Americans hold dear. Well, there is a very large portion of the populace that cheered when it was overturned. We thanked God and logic that it happened. When you sing your songs, they become property of the listener as well, open for personal interpretation. However, when you tell me your political viewpoint beforehand, all I think of is that you would think I'm an immoral idiot because I don't think the same way you do.
It is immoral to force your religious views on others, yet you have no problem doing that. Scientific facts fall under the logic category, not religion, religion is philosophical which falls under whatever a person personally believes. Americans hold dear our freedoms, including respecting peoples differences in opinion and allowing them to have them. Part of the reason for our foundation as Americans was to escape religious tyranny. Whats happening is very sad, and women are being forced to carry dead and malformed fetuses as well as victims of rape and incest, (including underage ones), forced to carry the seed of their attacker. Is that the kind will of your god? You find 9 months of reminder and self endangerment from any number of illnesses brought on by a delicate state the righteous option? Don't forget how afterwards your bones are more brittle and your body is depleted. Hopefully no one with a rape baby works anywhere, cuz they they'll have to take time off from work to have and give up the baby if they go with the adoption option, and I'm sure there will never be any akward questions like weren't you pregnant and definitely not having to tell people baby was a rape baby so thats why it disappeared. Lets not forget women being denied arthritis medication because it can induce an abortion, so men have no problem getting that script but women are denied and forced to go through a process and wait while they're in pain. Yes. Logic prevailed when sky daddy overturned R V W. That sounds on point.
@@punkluckey8886 Can we all agree art is best when its universal and not partisan? So many stars shine less bright because they wade into our stupid shallow political discourse and petty fights.
@@cgiddinge3019 I understand what you're saying, Dolly Parton would agree with you, and Bob Dylan would not. Music has always intertwined with politics, look at the 60s and '70s alone. To err is human, no way every artist you enjoy is a pious soul who does nothing you dislike or disagree with. I mean, I guess thats why they say never meet your idols, but I just fail to see how a difference in opinion suddenly takes away from the depth of talent.
lol
Shakey Graves is devastated that Joe no longer listens to his music. Sorry you feel so personally persecuted by Shakey saying he's sad and upset about a court ruling affecting millions of women. Thoughts and prayers!
