The end product is lovely, but why do you turn your ruler upside down? The cork is to stop it slipping as you cut, as well as preventing ink from wicking when drawing lines.
Thanks! Personal preference. I don’t like the gap the cork creates between the paper and the ruler. I always use it upside down except for measuring. I use metal rulers so when I cut something with a blade it doesn’t get stuck like it does with plastic.
Absolutely Brilliant, and well planned. I've been so frustrated with purchased spools and trying to get sizes to fit my different scrolls. Thanks for sharing your excellent solution for me. Great painting techniques too!
Beautiful job and love the music. Very relaxing. I saw the second video first and it never crossed my mind the spool was made from paper and I make paper beads, lol. I thought, I wonder where she got that spool. So fancy! Thank you!
If you wanted to make a bigger one you could start with a paper tube from paper towel or foil. Then just cut large triangles from a thin cardboard to roll for the ends.
What a fantastic idea! I've been wondering how to get the perfect size bead for a slow stitch scroll! Also, I am really looking forward to your fabric scroll tutorial! 💕
Hello. I didn’t count. It was probably more like 6 or 8. The length of paper will also determine the size of your roll. Just play around until you achieve the size you’re looking for and then glue it.
I’m BAAACK … watching this for a 3rd time before I try it on my own. ❤❤❤
I hope you have fun with it!
So disappointed that I can’t find reasonable priced scrolls … this is GENIUS!!! ❤❤❤
Now you can customize them! 😊
Wow! This is brilliant!! Thank you for sharing!❤
Thank you! Cheers!
What a great tutorial! I can't bring myself to pay the price of wooden scrolls, this is so doable, thank you! ❤❤❤
Thanks! The good thing is that you can make custom sizes.

Omg I wanna make one for my slow st. Scroll. I was gonna buy a wooden one, but too expensive, and these look so good.
If you wanted to make a bigger one you could start with a paper tube from paper towel or foil. Then just cut large triangles from a thin cardboard to roll for the ends.
One of the most effective results I have seen for a long time on here. Will be trying it for sure.
Thanks! I hope you do!
That is incredible. Thank you for sharing such a great tutorial. ❤

Hi, did you use 5 sheets of newsprint?
