I really like the idea of using plain paper then glazing them with gorgeous colours. I live in Europe and just googled the French Decopatch…it’s sold online in my country so I will order some and mix with micro powders I have bought online ( eBay I think. It was a while ago!) The description of Decopatch is that it gives a ‘satin’ finish. I’m wondering since it isn’t as glossy as Triple Thick, if my beads will turn out as shiny as yours?🤔🤔🤔. Would you happen to know? I’m so glad this video came up in my feed because I bought a lot of powders a few years ago, thinking I would make spray ones to use in my projects, but never did. TFS, xx
I was researching mica powder for a project I'm planning, and came across your vid. So glad i did. I especially enjoyed "scoopity scoop scoop" and your happiness when seeing the colors first mixed. You seem like a real nice human being to be around, thank you for sharing a little of yourself with us.
Thank you for this tut. I'm in California, USA, went to Amazon and found the Mica (one you show) $18.99, not at all bad. Now I can color my OH sooo many blanks, properly.
You can also use inexpensive eyeshadow pallets instead of mica. They aren't 100% mica but they get the job done. Of course, using products like pearl ex will give you a much more vibrant color.
I should of read all of the cooments below I went on Amazon and found the set I was so excited. Your videos are so educational and it gives me additional twist to my beads my making a custom glaze. Keep making the videos. Thanks
I love this tutorial. Its fantastic. I got these too and the arteza as well. I love the arteza. Thry have a set of 35 and 60. Yes pricey but last forever. You've really gone into depth in this and I love it!!! I love the accent I'm England too..Wiltshire but northern Irish based
Thank you for this video! I have a lot of mica powders that I need to use! I use to use the on the surface of my polymer clay tiles for a metallic look but haven't done that for awhile. Still tempted at that lovely big box though :). The glazes are lovely.
These are also available at the US Amazon store for $17, with a coupon for $2 reducing it to $15. Glad I saw this. I wonder if you could make alcohol inks with this method. Thank you.
Thank you for your videos, they are really awsome and informative! I am curious, if you put the lid back on the little jar will it keep your glue/glaze + mica powder mix wet for use another day or does it dry in the little jar? That would be a great way to preserve your mix to be used elsewhere.
You are very welcome and thank you for your lovely comments. I replaced the lids and it kept the glazes useable for several months which was great. Plus they were in small batches so minimal waste.
❤ i beautiful work , i love 💞 it and definitely ry to do . I just didn't get what did you put first in the small container to mix with powder, please let me know. Thank you 🙏
Thank u for your videos. They're so informative. Do u dip your beads in anything to seal them before u color? I dip mine in wood petrifier to seal them inside and out before I glaze. I was just wondering if it would affect the colors.
Hi, so pleased you like the videos. I do sometimes dip in a wood petrifier but I would do this first before glazing. If you dip after glazing it will react and it could alter your glaze.
I ordered a set of mica powders it did not have the name of the colors on it, I was so disappointed and it did not come with the little scooper it was a set of 12 colors, from Amazon. I like the set you are using.
@@SqueakerChimp ty so much Zoe my pots came in today and am ready to go but may i ask you on that round bead did you use card stock and how many strips did you use i didnt know what size the paper you use was
Good question. If you have a pot with a tight lid, a long time. You could put a bit of plastic on the top before you screw it down. I try to make small batches so I don’t waste anything
Video is great. Loved it. Thank you for making it.. Just a FYI, try to make sure you stay in frame while recording. Parts of what you were doing were off screen.

Absolutely, a great way to use up things you won’t use in your house
I see this video is four years old so I just wanted to mention that you can get micro-powders from temu much cheaper now.
Yes good shout, not a fan of Temu myself, prefer AliExpress.

I have another tutorial in which I make spray alcohol inks
Brilliant idea!!
Thank you, it's my favourite way to glaze now
You videos are so educational and so easy to follow 💕
Thank you Cathy! So glad you found them helpful
What a great idea!!!! Thank you.
Can I use regular hardware varnish & mix in my micro powders? My varnish is ‘glossy’. That’s what I have now so I’d like to use what I have. Thanks.🥰
Give it a try, you never know what might work - it’s exciting to experiment
This was a very fun and informative video - thanks! LOVE the colors!
Do have a go and share your results in the group xxxxx

That’s what I needed to ask. Thanks

Oh that’s a shame. Mine had 50 in so a different set. Maybe have another look. I do love mine!
What have you used to create the flower accent on the bead? 16:04-16:15
I burnt them in with a pyro pen 🤣
I love it.. It's very pretty! Thank you so much for responding.
Your funny love the colors that the mica turns the beads into!!
Thanks Shelly xxx

You should always wear a mask when using mica powders. And have plenty ventilation. Just letting you know. Thank you for your video.
Yes absolutely but when doing a video I'm not sure anyone would understand me with a mask over my face.
Thank u for sharing. Do u have a prefer brand of glaze to use as a base?
I like decoart triple thick x
Ummmm I wonder if slimmer eye shadow would have the same effect?
Have a go! I love experimenting
Love all your videos. Thanks for all your tips.
My pleasure thank you for watching x
Just found the mica powder can what to play with t
Can one use mica power for uv resins? Where it takes a uv light or sunlight I don't know if the light can pass through enough to cure the uv resins.
Yes you can but I would make sure they are opaque, I’ve tried to make a dark pigments in UV resin and the light would not penetrate.
Cool
Just note that triple thick does tend to yellow after a while
I've got beads that's are 6 or 7 years old and not noticed any yellowing but will keep it in mind thanks
How long do the mixed glazes last for in the pots

I am trying, I'm an expert crafter but very much an amateur at filming myself 😂
Be very careful! Breathing that is hazardous. I wear a mask and try not to get it anywhere but on the project and then serious clean up afterwards.
Absolutely
ty for the tips!
I love ur vids
why your coughing?!
Asthma
It annoys the heck out of me that Britain and England think they are the only 2 countries on the planet.
I don’t think so, I am very aware of other countries thank you.
