  • Here's a look at the north end of Fort Myers Beach, 100 days after Hurricane Ian devastated the area. You'll see from Bowditch Point Park to Times Square. You'll see down the road, beach side and bay side.

I watch every one of your videos, sometimes go back to an earlier one to compare. Yes, the progress is astounding; but still, I am left with a feeling of disbelief. So much is gone and will never return. Thank you again for tasking yourselves to documenting this clean-up and rebuilding of, for me, a magical beach town.

Thanks for documenting the beach before the rebuild. Once it's redone, we won't be able to recognize the places where our old memories took place. This video twice flew over our favorite place to stay, the Island House motel at the corner of Matanzas St, across from the Best Western. All that's left now is a dirt lot and a polluted swimming pool. It will become someone else's place in the future and but for your videos, the memories would fade.

It's it scary just seeing lots with only a pool in the? Crazy

@@CaribbeanCastaways We saw the same thing after Ivan hit Grand Cayman. Beach front homes reduced to foundation slabs with swimming pools.

We brought our family to Fort Myers Feb 2012, watched with horror Ian destroy the Paradise that once was. Had so wanted to go to Sanibel as well and will have to return in the future when things are restored there. Thank you for your drone tour, I was able to see the resort Casa Playa where we once stayed is still standing. I think all of the time about how terrifying it must have been to have been through the store and also those that left and how it must have felt to return to such tragedy. I hope the winds take long break from ever turning towards Sanibel and Fort Myers again

I have watched over the last 100 days- your videos are amazing I live in AL. We here all know what they are going through but at least this area is more financially capable of rebuild much faster than other area of the Gulf. Not shaming on any other part of the Gulf but this area has more resources than others. Thank you for keeping us up to date

Huge overall improvement. I see some canals and ponds getting dredged, palm trees are better!

My dear Floridians: this recovery is amazing- so much progress! If you look back on the "Katrina" recovery in LA, MS and AL it took years to see any progress. It is all about funds. FL is richer than LA and MS infrastructure after Katrina for she destroyed so much more, for MS was not as privy to fast rebuilding for there were laws that had to be revamped. You will be back much quicker. It will be better than it was believe me!

We also have awesome leaders who refused to let this place die. The level of courageous attitude is astounding! The thousands of human work hours is what has brought Fort Myers back so quickly!

It'll recover, rebuild and flourish, despite the negativity and pro liberal comments, go back to the woke state and leave us woke to broke state alone. Florida is 1000% more than adios California will ever be!

Jeez Rik. Turn off the Faux Noiz and educate yourself.
You can't define woke, and I highly doubt you could define librul. There just names you hurl out. I'm liberal and I want to see FMB back. But, it is a barrier island. 10 year storms became 5 year storms and the prognosis is 3 year storms soon. Insurance and infrastructure are going to have a hard time keeping up with that.
