Ableton Push 3 - Auditioning Drum Tracks via the Screen...

- In today's video I run through a way to navigate and audition your drum tracks using the Push 3 screen (and not the pads).
I start off with a bit of a moan on two bugs I believe I found whilst using Push 3 controller then I gradually move on to the main topic.
I discuss how to audition different drum beats in Ableton from the Push 3 controller so you can see which beat(s) most resonates with the rest of your music, be that harmonies, melodies or other rhythms.
No doubt there are many other ways to do this but this is just my discovery that I want to share with you.
I hope you find this valuable and leave a comment below if you need further clarification on anything.
Enjoy ;-)
Great video thank you! Really helped me to understand the two workflow types and also how the lock button can be used.
For the arming problem, I seem to be able to change the behaviour on Standalone using the "Exclusive Arm" option under Settings/Status. Might still be a bug though 😉.
The first bug seems to be fixed in 11.3.20 release just out 🙂 (I had it too on Standalone, super annoying!)
Great! Thanks for the tip. 👍🏾 Guess I just need to update my software!
Just spotted the 11.3.20 release this morning is public!
Great! Thanks… will download later today👍🏾
Have you checked your preferences to ensure you haven’t enabled the ability to arm more than one track at a time?
Hi there. No it's definitely not that. I have my preferences set to Record-Arm one track at a time.
It's a weird thing that only happens when I move any tracks and the 'red pads' or clips only display on the Push 3 and not the software. It's also strange I'm able to emulate this error each and every time.
Anyways... No worries. It doesn't distract from the music making so not a biggie 😄
Thanks for commenting 👍
