Arrow III surplus shells were left over and they built Comet IAs which are the cars with a little hump on the top and retired from NJ Transit. Comet IBs were retired and Amtrak needed cars for California Service. They purchased and overhauled them from commuter to long distance with the removal of the cabs from the cab cars.
