Ooh yes! Just read the Odyssey last year and will definitely read it again. As to Joseph Campbell .. looking back we must have been an odd bunch but a group of about 10 of us, in our 20’s, devoured the series of discussions between Joseph Campbell and Bill Moyers that was shown on PBS in the late 1980’s. Very interesting channel you have here! Tripped over your slow stitching and now find a kindred spirit in the realm of literature. Subscribed!
Well, I always enjoy meeting someone who's read a few of the same books, and I discoved Joseph Campbell waaay later than you, here on RUclips. He's a wonderful speaker as well as having some fantastically interesting ideas about mythology and how stories are constructed. Well, I hardly need to point that out to you, as you know already. Thanks for subbing, and I'm pleased to have a fellow book lover on board. One can never have too many hobbies, books, or subs on the ship!
The painting in the background is one I did while reading "The Odyssey". It's called "Odysseus Reaching Sheria", which is an island thought to be now called Corfu. I won't tell you how he got there, but you'll find out for yourself, if you decide to read "The Odyssey".
