Glock 19 vs Shadow Systems MR920 elite! Full review and comparison!
Shadow Systems has the Holosun 407c red dot
Glock 19 parts:
Tungsten guide rod
Double diamond Black Yikes 3.0 connector
Trijicon HD night sights
OEM backstrap cut to fit
SLR Rifleworks magwell
Holosun SCS green dot
before even shooting i oiled and dry fired my mr920 for couple days first. Racking the slide over and over as well. No failures on the first 500 rounds. Glock out the box only had one failure on steel case ammo which i don't use anymore. Both solid reliable guns.
Love my Glocks however..
I have had the MR920 for 2.5 years.
I think I had 2 or 3 malfunctions just like y'all did. That was within about the first 300 rounds. Since then and a couple thousand more rounds with no issues. Also, it shoots for me, reliably with hollow points and a comp.
I don’t remember any malfunctions from either of my regular ol cheap 19’s…
Same. The instruction manual says the end user can expect a few malfunctions on the shadow systems during its initial break in period due to tight tolerances.
Ha you should do the break in period on my 2011
I pretty much have the same set up with my Glock 19 MOS. I put a Holosun SCS, Night Fision perfect dot sights, Shadow systems threaded barrel, Herrington Arms HC9C comp, Surefire x300-UA, Overwatch precision gunmetal grey tac trigger kit) 4.5ib minus connecter/ NP3 safety plunger, chop backstrap (Great lake custome works), SLR magwell, and talon grip tape on gas pedal ledge. I'm just missing the tungsten guide rod from Glock store. All this was just for fun, my set up sits at roughly 1700. Honestly I would have saved a lot of time and money if I had went with MR920 Elite.
I dig the bromance! Keep making these kind of videos. Very relatable
Hey guys, the o ring for the barrel cap comes with the gun. I don't why you didn't get one
You can get more in the back of Murdoch's
I trust my life to glock period! Never had a single malfunction with any of my glocks.
I own both and that is my conclusion. Love my MR920.. seriously beautiful and feels great. But… my Glock is 100% from first shot to last which is why it sit next to the bed and part of my EDC. If shtf, I would truly bet my life on my Glock 19.
I own mr, dr, and cr, along with cr. I also own 43X, 19, and 17. Love all of them. I find myself reaching for the shadow systems over the glocks. I agree with the other post that Glock mags are better than the pmags
I have noticed after about a year or so of owning a shadow systems MR 920 modern series and a custom build with a shadow lower. after breaking them down for a good cleaning ,a small bit of surface rust on some of the screws and pins like optic mounted screws pins for Magwell and back straps. Nothing I couldn't clean up and reuse, but I've never experienced this with any Glock going back to my Gen2 days.
Your boy looks like ice cube circa the NWA days. Straight outta Compton baby
What's with all the slow regripping?
They put a Oring in the box under the tape that says not to use with suppressors
Look likes a good group of guys to go shoot with thanks for the video
Y'all guys are awesome! Keep up the good work. I own a 19 and fixing to buy me a shadow systems that how I came across this video. Y'all make a good team, stick together
I also have the SCS and I love it!!!
“The reason why it’s tungsten is because I suck”
nice video! like the crew!
One. You guys are racking the slide with the slide release button. Can't do that with a shadow systems pistol. Not when new anyway. 2nd. It's good to dry fire those pistols for a good few days, to give them some lead way into their break-in period. Then go live fire. Grab the back of the slide pull back, ALL the way. Stop gabbing the front of the slide and hafe way racking it. Grab it from the back pull it back let the thing chamber. HARD! Pull back on your slide like you got a pair of. BALLS!
I own two of them the DR and the MR both are the combat version
Are you guys in the west coast? Range looks like mine, in central New York, but I noticed the timbers are incised, which is common in the western U.S.
The thread cap was still walking out with the O ring on
There’s an o-ring included for the barrel.
Sandro probably using Winchester white box... They had issues in glocks when you were shooting this video. Saw at least 20 folks with light strikes in glocks with 9mm white box.
At 6:30 one of you gentlemen said, “This is the second of 200 rounds” what do you mean by this? You’ve already shot 200 rounds? I must say every video I see people excuse away these guns malfunctioning, I have one on the way and am second guessing myself. Yes, I realize there’s a break in period. I own 4 Walther PDP’s, Glocks, XDM’s, Canik. NONE of these had any issues, maybe a light primer strike ever once in a while and I’ve been shooting for 35years.
are you guys using the mr920 a year later? looking to get one.. what are you thoughts on it
Yes we are. We still run that one all of the time and is absolutely amazing. I do plan on doing an update video on these as soon as the weather lets us get back out
You need to break in the mr920. Its common to get a few failurs within the first few hundred rounds
Apex trigger for glock 👍 or, try a Timney. It will run with a little massaging from a dremel
Don't use pmags on your shadow systems. Not dependable. Use glock mags. I have that setup
The shadow system does require a break in period also
The first dude shooting the mr920 doesn't know how to hold a gun while shooting, can't control the recoil and after each shot readjusting his grip.
PDP just sayin. Works better than dres vp9 lol
Damn does that shadow system kick that hard? Looks like it’s about to jump his hand with every round. Oh never mind I watched a little longer.. the first guys recoil managment just isn’t that good.
The O-ring comes in the pouch
Break in period dudes
what holster your running with the MR920?
Blackhawk T series for a Glock 19 fitting I believe
what mag extendo is on the mr920??
Glock vs The Shadow MR920 *(aka Glock clone)*
Question: Why we have a Shadow MR920, Mossberg MC1/2, Springfield Hellcat, PSA Dagger, etc. etc.? _Because:_
- The *Glock 19* was the number 1 seller in handguns for 2021
- The *Glock 19* was the #1 seller in handguns for 2022
- The *Glock 43X* was the number 1 seller in subcompact handguns for 2022
What gun will most likely be the top gun in 2023?? That is right and hence if you want a Glock *_buy one_* not a clone.
So regarding the _Shadow Systems MR920_ - why does the Glock 19 & other guns (HK, FN, SIG, S&W, on & on) *_out sell_* it costing more?
*Think about it.*
Ignoring the hype & marketing - *_if you are wise_* you already have the answer.
For me because I like that it comes with upgrades that glock doesn't, can change the grip angle because the glock grip is trash to me, the customer service and the fact that shadow systems will send you a new gun if you use yours in a self defense situation. Also alot of people don't know about shadow systems. I was the only one out of all my people that knew about said company. Glock is a great gun everyone knows about it is one of the most reliable guns ever. I just like shadow systems better.
@@michaelrutledge7145 Hey *michaelrutledge7145,* settling for number 11🏃or 12🚶♂️ is nothing wrong because it is *_your choice._*
For me I am settling on the leader everyone copies.
For me *_I pick the top seller_* aka number one (1) 🥇.
For me it is not about grips, grip angle, options, sights, whatever. It is only about:
- reliability
and
- hitting the target
Glock is the policemans gun (65% carry it). Glock is the World's military choice 👌. Glock is the civilians pistol. Glock is constantly number one (1) best seller in pistols.
No fake for me. *Gaston Glock* made me happy and safe.
Scs is way cool
I know Shadow Systems recommends to use P-mags, but dont! They are trash. I have the DR and the XR, when I use p-mags I get the same malfunctions. When I run Glock mags, no malfunctions.
Me too. FTF FTE constantly with PMags, but runs smooth in OEM Glock Mags.
BS, after the first 500 rds my 920 shoots perfect with no malfunctions with Pmags. Just did 1000 rounds in one day with 5 types of ammo from 115, 147, 124, 158 grn with and without my Banish 45 suppressor. There were no “magazine” issues.
@@gpracer1 cool story
@@Delta2CO You forgot to say “bro” at the end.
Sorry glock is considerably better you dont have to shoot 80 dollar’s worth of ammo to make it shoot right
I disagree. The glock does go bang every time but the shadow system is easier to run to me. Just my opinion, own both like both but I like the shadow system better. I did not have a problem with a break in period. I shot blazer 124grain out of it for practice and dynamic defense hollow points 115grain. Not one jam or stove pipe and have close to 1000 rounds through it.
Shadow Systems has a stated break in period and has tighter tolerances than a Glock. Think of it like tuning a performance car.
Glock is perfect after you spend 300 more dollars to make it be like a shadow system that costs 200 dollars less by that time
Glock is perfect out of the box. I have chased the gun to make me better, but in the end, with practice I can shoot my Glock as well as my MR920. It is true, the MR920 looks and feels better, but it has not been 100% and does not have the reliability history that Glock does. A person cannot go wrong with either… but I choose Glock.
@@Mother-Company perfect which is why everyone spends the 50 dollars on sights and 80 dollars minimum on trigger and by that time you're already at the cost for the mr920 might as well buy 80 dollars worth of ammo and go through the break in haven't had issues with mine at all and most people dont
