As a football fan and fantasy football participant, I look at Garrett Wilson's production with Joe Flacco and now with Zach Wilson and think, was Zach in Cincinatti for that comeback on the bench? Did you see how #17 took over that game, with JaMar Chase and Tee Higgins in the building? Hello?
I rewatched this multiple times, look at the 10 completions and look at the degree of difficulty. He had a severely underthrown ball to a wide open Davis. The Jets are asking him to be a game manager because they don't trust his decision making.

Was Zach good today? No, but the first half he was getting blitzed, nobody was getting open, including Garrett who was getting locked up by Alexander. The 2nd half he made plays when he needed to and there’s no reason to stray away from the run game when it’s working the way it is. He made some bad throws today too, but still, he wasn’t as bad as his stats are saying. And the kid is 3-0 this season
100%, we didn't need to use his arm to win the game. I do want to see some better decisions but not upset at all today!
@@JetsTalk247 exactly, I want to see some better decisions too, but the main thing for me is that his reads have been great for the most part this year, when he’s slinging it, you can tell he studied all off season and his short-medium throws just look so much better. Again was he perfect? No, but he’s been really good in 2/3 games he’s played in this year and this game specifically they were running the ball so well. My boy only threw the ball 18 times 😭
I won't take anything from him, but the bottom line is he has to improve and we should not make excuses for him. I have faith that he will as the season goes along.

@@joshuamitchell4343 exactly, he won them the game against the Steelers with that elite 4th quarter. And played great against the dolphins. He was 2 yards away from having 2 passing touchdowns, they got it down to the 1 and ran it both times. That’s why I’m not worried with his passing touchdowns stats right now
Again didn’t have to do too much, his stats may not look nice but if he isn’t turning over the ball, who cares?
We should still want our boy performing more.

He will get better as the season goes on. Made some very questionable throws but also had a few drops from WRs. We want to be able to control the clock with Breece
Improvement needs to come all across the board from receivers, OC and Wilson. Not much separation on many plays
Exactly bro.. he didn’t have to throw it 41 times like Rodgers did.. the running game was working .. why stop? Played from in front most of the game.. I’d rather Wilson throw the ball 18 times and we coast to a win rather then getting into a shootout and possibly lose
What a fantastic throw by Zach there, he placed it right on the punter's foot and into Michael Clemons' hand 🤣It's too soon to anoint Zach Wilson as anything but nobody can argue he isn't improving, had an unremarkable but steady game, and that throw to Davis on the roll-out felt like, maybe was, the first time we've seen him pull off any designed deep route. We've seen him chuck a few good completions off busted plays/scrambles, but I don't know that he has executed any one deep play as promisingly as that. Helps to have two steady tackles to clear a path, and blocking tight ends (shout out to Uzomah who was great in that department on Sunday). Jets are finally feeling truly exciting (on offense, we've had some fun defenses) for the first time in, what, a decade?
Yes. And plays designed for the backs as the first option can eventually be adjusted for. What I want more of is for Zach to have backs to check down to. Offensive coordinators are so thick headed when they don’t provide qb’s with check downs. They are so sure their brilliant plan will meet with no resistance.
Yea I want safety valves in the flat and shallow crossers. I wouldn't mind some bootlegs to limit the amounts of reads he has to make
Thank you so much for doing this. For those of us who couldn't catch the broadcast, we don't get to see these plays to help understand fully the performance of the team just watching the "highlights" put out by the NFL. You're doing God's work. Keep it up!
i don’t think zach will have a big game until after the bye week. the packers have the #2 pass defense and played a lot more man this week. broncos, pats, bills all have great defenses with smart coaches. he won’t fully hit his stride until later on in the year in my opinion

@@JetsTalk247 yea it’s just annoying when you see all the passing struggles getting blamed on the QB when the WRs are still young and talented but still unproven while simultaneously facing some great DBs and defensive minds. not to mention the run game being hard to defend.
i just hope jets fans don’t overreact to games against the broncos, bills, and patriots
We need a quarterback. Wilson does not have what it takes. The one we released was better than all 3.
Upon further review wasn’t too bad. Couple of things to clean up i.e. the outs to Garrett Wilson, internal clock sacks, but he did what he needed to do in order to win. They didn’t ask him to do a whole lot either. Feed the Breece and let this incredibly talented roster cook. We don’t need him to be Superman, but I believe in time he’ll get to where he ultimately needs to be. Also, that’s a TOUGH secondary to face if your plan is to win through the air. Props to the whole coaching staff.
Follow the old Pats plan, let the RB and defense win you games while the QB manages and learns

Every week I watch for this video to get a better idea of Zach Wilson's progress. This week I counted 6 good, 6 bad, 5 whatever, and idk what to grade the Corey Davis throw.
No outstanding throws. 3 bad ones that could've been picked. A distinct lack of pocket presence and one scramble he slides too early and misses first down by a yard. The 4 whatever passes for me are completed passes to wide open receivers less than 10 yards away, or a throwaway to save a sack, so whatever is not bad its just... whatever.
The Davis throw. Starts off by bailing straight backwards 10 yards+. Wish he would stop doing that. Davis has his man beat, a good pass it's a TD, but its underthrown. Yeah big play but good throw? Ugh.
Overall for me its MEH. Can say 10 for 18 110 was from play calling but that's not exactly accurate, which funny enough is what I see in these videos every week. Ha ha.
Growth? Don't see it. Maybe it's in his progressions which isn't obvious on tape like this. No interceptions is nice but is a lack of a negative a positive? Bc this week there was a distinct lack of positives in our passing game. Defense, special teams, and the run game saved the day.
With as many catch and run playmakers the Jets have. I'm shocked in the first half we didn't have many calls to take advantage of that. Some quick hitters and let the playmakers make plays. 2nd Half was a completely different story with the run game taking over and Zach Wilson was able to make the throws he needed to make, but I want to see the passing game progress and it starts with #2 and LaFleur.

Encouraging that he doesn’t look over matched out there. Just playing smart. We gotta remember he’s just completed 16 games in his career. Plenty to grow. His big games are coming

OUR oc is doing a excellent job of not giving any momentum to the opp defense they way he calls the game. Thats why every 3rd & 4th Q we start whoopin ass! Soon n very soon it will be every Quarter. Be patient crew

He miss some reads no doubt about it..this was his worst game so far now I’ve looked at a few time he had underneath stuff that coulda put the team in 3rd and short ..but he played good when it mattered..he’s getting better …and I hope he get better at a few things..like when he breaks the pocket .. get some completions that way to loosen up the defense

Overall Zach has played pretty poorly... I hope he can increase his passing percentage & ability to find the open receiver much quicker than he has been... Here's to Zach having a Much More Productive rest of the season & playoffs.

Offense needs to do better if they wanna really compete with the big dogs but man this defense was unreal today. Good thing is Zach doesn’t turn over the ball but you see those moments where he makes big plays
This defense will keep us in every game this year!
more play action and RPO's, Zach seems to have a rhythm with those play calls.
It’s kinda weird I feel like the passing game just isn’t that special but that’s not really on Wilson, it’s just that they feel the Tun game is stronger. Zach made a couple bad plays in this game but also made some really high level throws.

Can LaFleur just design a few plays to give Zach Wilson some early confidence in games? I'm getting tired of seeing him bumbling his way through the first half of games. We have to get out receivers involved in the games. I'm not trying to argue with winning, but Moore not a single catch.

I see Zach making way too many mistakes in the pocket and his accuracy is atrocious. This is not going to end well. It doesn't help that his best weapon is inactive every week either.

No turnovers for a 2nd game in a row. A few "no no no" throws, but that's still expected. Run the football more please

I gotta be honest, I want Zach to be that guy so bad but he just still hasn’t convinced me yet. He’s played just fine so far and that’s been great, but when we need him to have a game where he performs like crazy idk if he’ll be able to do it
He gave us that game in Pittsburgh. He doesn’t need to play “lights out” every week, but he’s stepped up when we’ve needed it so far. Came up big in Pitt in the 4th going 10 for 12 and 2 TD’s for the win. Played well in the 4th last week and this week. Couple bad throws in the first half this week and 2 drops. So you’re right that he needs to be sharper. But if he gets back the 2 drops, he’s 12 of18 for 66% against one of the best secondaries we’ll see this year. I’ll take that from our 2nd year QB who hasn’t even played 17 professional games yet. I think if we’re patient, Zach will be what we all Hope.
He's also not a full 17 games into his career yet. Of we got these games from a rookie we'd be pretty happy

10/18 but one batted down, 2 dropped, 1 knocked down by defender in tight coverage, 2 throw aways to avoid lost yardage, 2 actual bad throws.

Hate to admit it but Trevor is so much better than Zach. Wilson has upside but so far I'm not seeing it. Looks like he might be another 2nd overall pick that becomes a Game Manager... Sanchez anyone?
Ok watching this, ZW is definitely improving. He’s not missing those short out routes to his right in the last two games. 3 pretty bad throws, 1 bad sack (the other is whatever) but everything else was either good or acceptable. Plus he only threw 18 times total so expecting a 300 yard game is dumb. Also, did people forget the jets won? ZW was pretty average and the jets still scored 27 and won

Zack got lucky, could've been a 3 int day for him. Hopefully he cleans that up for Denver and The Pats. On the second sack he took just way too long.
Very solid performance again, but playing mistake-free football. I don't see any reason to throw a lot when the opposing defense specializes in pass defense and was losing to the run. Improvement will come with patience

Wilson did what he needed to do to help his team win. Sometimes the win comes from the team and not necessarily the quarterback. Today was one of those team wins. Good job, Jets!

I see he missed a few throws and missed one guy open..but they have to get Cory Davis more involved if he getting covered by the 3 cornerback

Ik people might say stop making excuses blah blah Jets fan stuff, but he played well in the second half, his timing was off in the first 2 quarters rain probably didn’t help and the Packers secondary was finally humming like they should’ve been all year they had everybody in handcuffs for a while, beyond that it’s just play calling. We should’ve been getting the tight ends involved way earlier in the pass game, otherwise there’s no answer when they’re locking up everybody in man like that Zach needed a release valve especially if he’s under pressure that’s why he had so many throwaways. I think LaFleur has been doing pretty solid so far all things considered but I think that’s been our biggest problem all year, part of that is Uzomah and Conklin not being world beaters even with all the offseason hype so hopefully Ruckert develops into that reliable release valve, but we need something to beat man when our receivers are getting locked in man besides just Breece Hall in the flat go shake 5 guys and get 10 yards somehow, especially since it goes against Zach’s playstyle like he’s been better at standing tall when the pocket is collapsing this year, but that instinct to extend the play is in him and we need to start playing into it as a strength instead of going head in the sand designing plays as if he’s going to stay in the pocket
Hell of a game though don’t mean to sound so negative I mean this team is looking like they just might finally have something here I’m unbelievably hype right now, just always have an aneurysm reading Jets fans comment sections had to say something lol
