I'm a dutch guy so i am fricking happy that Vandenberg is getting so much love from you!!
The guy totally deserves it! He’s made two of the most phenomenal albums in recent times.
saw him with whitesnake
1994 and 1997 😀👍
You two bounce off each other , great ! I brought the S Otis album while in a record shop and the was playing it 👍🏻
That Candlebox album is GREAT!
A7x life is but a dream is rowing my boat! Album moves me
Cool! 👍
Amazing record store.I wish in my area that were something like that
I’m always grateful for having access to stores like Sound Exchnage in Wayne, NJ. For those that are close or find themselves in the area, they should totally visit. It was life changing for me the first time I walked in.
Hi John! Initially it was because of the amount of CDs all being the type of music that I love. I didn’t actually meet Anthony until a few weeks later. He was on vacation when I discovered the store. So out of everyone who was there that I met he was last. But as they say the best is always last! And yes meeting anything and finding a kindred spirit in music collecting has also been life changing.
lucky for you but not for me unfortunnaly
I enjoyed the Candlebox review. Gonna pick it up 👍
Thanks Eric! Glad to know someone was into it 😂
@@BrendonSnyder i only know the first 2. Be nice to hear more 👍
The long hair thing is ture long hair is where it's at , I have that Tom Cruise 2000's hair haha, I love it! paired with my Romeo 1 sunglasses!
A+ video
A+ to you Joey! 👍
Glad you're getting into Wishbone Ash, a large impressive catalogue spanning 50 years. Their 1987 album title is a play on words and I've heard is pronounced as No Vocals, hence it being all instrumental.
It’s not a play on words because “nouveau” is a French word meaning new or modern and does not sound like “No Vocals” when pronounced. However the album was part of a record label series called No Speak. Perhaps that is what people are confusing when saying No Vocals.
@@BrendonSnyder Thanks for the info, I never took French 😅. The no vocals title just always made sense, it was also their first album at the time to have all 4 original members back since Wishbone 4, though it would be short lived.
You 2 together is so much fun. Keep it up!
We always have a blast. Glad you enjoyed the episode!
Love the videos you guys do. Makes me check out music i might not have given a second thought to. I agree with the Candlebox review...going to check out that Morgan Wade.
Thanks Debbie, I’m glad someone else enjoyed it 😂
Wow I want to check this out.
Some great picks. I suggest checking out the newest albums by Baroness, Corey Taylor, DeafCult, Mudhoney and Royal Blood. All of these just recently dropped or came out a few months ago. ✌️
Great video! Here are some of mine: Ice T - Rhyme Pays (1987) - OG was also a big one though no Doubt! Alice Cooper - Trash (1989), Depeche Mode - Violator (1990), Electric Universe - One Love (1995), Carbon Based Lifeforms- Derelicts (2017) and so many more..
After laughter is the 5th album
1.all we know is falling
2.riot
3.brand new eyes
4.self titled
5.after laughter
6.this is why
This is excellent- Anthony has a really cool educated and insightful taste in music.
Dekker is a fantastic pick! Love seeing some more ska and reggae and rocksteady chats in RUclips
That Candlebox album is phenomenal! I think it may be their best one
Vandenberg for sure….. Can’t ever go wrong with that STP. Of that “grunge” period, STP, Alice In Chains, Mother Love Bone, earlier pre-grunge Soundgarden and only Pearl Jam - Ten is where it is for me. Hayley from Paramore does have a solid voice, but I got her with the likes of a Gwen Stefani. Vocally incredible, the music though… only in small doses. Gonna take a pause from the latest Skid Row record and give this Morgan Wade a listen.
That Ice-T OG album is great. We had an underground metal station in the Chicago suburbs that played Escape from the Killing Fields. Great song
That boggles the mind when a Metal station is playing non-Metal music.
@@BrendonSnyder I think it was because of the lyrics. I’m not a big fan of rap, but I like this!

1)Black Sabbath - Vol. 4
2)Fight -War of Words
3) Pride & Glory w/Zakk Wylde
4)Joe Satriani- Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musteron of Rock
5) Joe Satriani-Crystal Planet
Thanks Brendon & Anthony , great topic and music choices
I literally just purchased the Whitesnake box set off Amazon for $36.50, after watching this video.
01. From what I've heard of the new Alice Cooper album, I agree with Anthony. It's corny even by Alice's standards.
02. I had been on a Ministry related kick. I had found out that Paul Barker (ex-Ministry) resurrected Lead Into Gold with the 2018 album The Sun Behind The Sun. Sadly, it's currently only available as a digital download. Absolutely love it. While not a carbon copy of early Ministry, it's got the vibe of Twitch/LORAH era while staying fresh and maintaining its own identity.
03. Because of the last one, I checked out an earlier Lead Into Gold release - 1990's Chicks & Speed. I've had it downloaded for a while but recently got it on cd. Why I never listened to it before is beyond me, but love it.
04. Also broke out RevCo's Big Sexy Land. Usually with RevCo, I listen to Linger Ficken Good. I forgot just how good Big Sexy Land is. It came out between Ministry's Twitch and LORAH albums.
After Laughter is one of my favorite albums of the past 10 years. I loved Paramore before, but this is their best album. Anybody who likes The Cars, Talking Heads and Blondie should give it a shot. Also, the combo of dayglo New Wave pop music mixed with incredibly dark lyrics is always a winner for me.
What moves me these days? I can only speak from my collection. The One album that always moves me is the 1987 Johnny hates Jazz album “Turn back the Clock” and to me in my opinion is the best album of the 80’s. I really enjoy Elton John and his 70’s output. I also have a few albums I listened to that mean a lot to me including Duran Duran “BIG THING”; Level 42 “Running in the Family”; Pink Floyd’s “Momentary Lapse of Reason) (and it’s not because of Anthony.) These albums mean something to me in a deeper level.
Hi Brendon - Wishbone Ash must start with Argus but any of the first 4 albums are essential. Cheers from your Australian fan Maurice
I already owned the debut album prior to buying No Smoke Without Fire. But since buying No Smoke, I’ve bought 13 additional Wishbone Ash albums including Argus. 👍
Huh I do love classic rock but I listened to it all a lot as a little girl 6-7. I am 99% sure from your picks you would not like the stuff I am into but I just got Samurai Pizza Cats album, had to order it from EU cause no one here inthe US sold it. I fell in love with their song Pizza Homicide . Ice Nine Kills pretty much anything but epecially the Silver Scream and Welcome to Horrorwood. My two favorite things are Horror films and Metal and they are both! Though they do do some softer songs you guys might be able to tolarate. Maybe Shower Scene or Ex Mortis.
The Canadian Band Mystery's new album "Redemption"
Is former Yes vocalist Benoit David still singing for the band?
No, no longer@@BrendonSnyder
Hearing you talk about the cover of the last album made me think about a possible topic for a new video. Have you considered listing your favorite album covers? Or if there's too many for 1 video, do a recurring series featuring great album art? Thanks!
I’m preparing a video called Bad Album Covers, But Great Music
Only one right now, Gloryhammer - Return To The Kingdom Of Fife. It's that album I just want to play over and over again. It's cheesy parody power metal so I don't expect either of you to like it, but it really takes me back 20+ years to the height of the power metal wave. There's also plenty of Bal-Sagoth elements in the music, which is awesome. Another one that sounded great on first listen is Warmen - Here For None, so I want to listen to it again soon.
ICE T “new jack hustler” 👍😎
Talking about Wishbone Ash, try out their 1981 album “Number the Brave”, John Wetton on bass and lead singer on 1 track.
The next year he puts together Asia.
Since filming this video I’ve bought 13 Wishbone Ash albums including Number The Brave!
I freaking love the new Alice Cooper album. This album makes me more of a fan than I ever was before. Long live Alice!!!🤘🤘
I hope he keeps going and going and going…
I guess I'll have to pray for Anthony's taste in music. Just joking!
But if I could suggest a band that may not of heard of, It would be Billy Satellite from 1984. The band has a Southern Rock sound, if you ask me anyway. If you would like to test drive a song maybe try Satisfy Me or Standing With The Kings.
A little History.
The band only has only one CD. If you don't count the Greatest Hits CD witch has all the same songs just in a different order.
I've heard it said Bad Management killed the band.
Jefferson Starship liked them and had them as a opening Band.
Eddy Money sang and recorded their song I Wanna Go Back.
One member performed with Eddy Money and another member performed with .38 Special.
Not sure where they are today. But I sure do wish Billy Satellite would have been able to put out more music.
Thanks Brendon!!!!
I pray for Anthony all the time! 😂
I’m listening to the new Grace Potter album Mother Road, an autobiographical trip through her life story so far, and it definitely has had an impact on me.
Great video. You guys rock. 🤘😎🤘
Thanks!
A Momentary Lapse of Reason is great. I don’t care what anyone says.
Brendon are you going to that candle box last tour???
Hey Brendon, what do you think of the 2023 mix of ten years after a space in time 50th anniversary 2 cd set?
Haven’t heard it, not into the band. But I am into Alvin Lee.
Paramore's actually 3rd album Brand New Eyes is their best one.
I think IMO The first Candlebox Album was where they hit there Peak, all the rest just does not compare!
Yes the debut is still best but that doesn’t mean the albums that came after it aren’t good. They’re just different.
@@BrendonSnyder oh for sure no doubt
Stores likes to that I would hope to find Nazareth snakes n ladders vinyl lp
There is a good chance they would he it.
Good to see Anthony call out Alice Cooper as corny. But not a fan of the Paramore though.
So you’re not a fan of Alice Cooper? Blasphemy! 😂
@@BrendonSnyder I was an Alice fan back in the 70's, had several albums, saw a couple concerts. It seems like the music is more suited for a younger audience. I still like Alice a bit, but have mostly moved on. - Dave
Big thumbs up to Anthony's pick of Ice-T's OG album!
Stuff that moves me at the moment: Four artists where I can´t pick a single album but go back to all the time the whole year around are RHCP; Nick Cave, My Bloody Valentine and Depeche Mode. The last artist that completely blew me away this summer was Tesla, great debut but their sophomore The Great Radio Controversy skyrocketed into my top 100 records. I always listen to Emmylou Harris, I honestly think she hasn´t made a bad record. If you´re not completely into Country I´d recommend Wrecking Ball (which is like Alternative Folk and atmospheric rock) and Live in Chicago 1978 which is just as powerful and potent as any rock live album from that era. A record from a couple of years ago I go back to is Smith/Kotzen (Adrian from Iron Maiden and Richie from Winery Dogs). Just a great blues rock album. Speaking of Blues, one of the last elder bluesmen Buddy Guy put all competition to shame with "The Blues don´t lie" - in his mid 80s nonetheless! My two favourite releases of 2023 are the new Lana Del Rey and new Enslaved, both were on a roll these past few years but those new ones might be their crowning achievements for me- time will tell.
