Your list of pros and cons about living in London really got me thinking, and coincidentally, I’ve been putting together a similar list myself. After six years living in Chiswick, one of the main reasons I’m now feeling uncertain about staying is the lack of a strong sense of community, which you also highlighted in your list. It's become a significant factor in my desire to move somewhere with more genuine and warm connections. Lately, I’ve found myself longing for a larger space-ideally a freehold house with a lovely garden. This would give me the freedom to decorate, fill the home with vintage and antique pieces, take up gardening as a hobby, and simply have more space and flexibility overall. For you, it would be an ideal place for Ziggy and Stormi to have room to roam in a spacious garden, while you could relax on sunny days, sipping cold drinks and enjoying the outdoor space. My list of potential places includes York, Edinburgh (the cold is a big drawback though), Cheltenham, Cambridge, and Richmond & Barnes (still London, if I end up succumbing to the city’s charm again). Plus, London is still just a short ride away if I ever feel like visiting.
❤ One thing I love is that you both talk with honesty and openness. Remember each day, week, month and year reflect your chapter of your lives and that you both will make the right decisions for that time 😊 Look forward to where you will go next but always continue to be true to who you both are and what your heart and instinct speak at that moment. Thank you for the lovely comment previously. I continue to watch with bated breath and enjoy as always xx
Please let me thank you for this specific video; very informative and insightful on the life lived in London. Extremely helpful. All the very best on your plans. :)
It's a brilliant way to figure out your needs and wants by writing them down to decided what's really important to you. Being clear about your deal breakers will be a huge pay off in the end. It may be frustrating at times but stick to your guns and get exactly what you want. You can't put a price on happiness. Toby glad you are responding so well to treatment. Mikey thank you for being Toby's support system. It's obvious the difference both are making for both of you. XO
We’re in a village just above St Albans and love it. 25 mins into London on the train, and an hour drive if we just want the ease (doesn’t feel like an hour at all). All schools are Ofsted Excellent. So many young families. It’s ideal. Just miss being near the coast sometimes 🥹
We left Fulham after 22 years to move to a village Old Welwyn I missed London for a year after leaving . I still commute to Chiswick for work but now I love living there and am now looking to find a job closer to home
@@thesdstyleI’d recommend booking an air BnB in your shortlisted areas to get a real feeling of how the locals live. Harpenden is a real bubble which has pros and cons (mostly pros tbf). And so many families which is really lovely, easy to make friends
I related to all of this as I lived in NYC for 14 years and was assessing that balance with the high living expense vs. living and working somewhere not as expensive and with easier access to the family. Ultimately I moved to Northern California and honestly, life is so much less stressful, even though I miss plenty of things about NYC, including friends. I do get back to visit though.
Strip malls are popular where you can park in front of the shops and grocery stores for easy access for busy singles, families and the elderly! Giant Malls are dinosaurs!
We call it a mall but the vowels are two syllables in South where I live. 😂. I lived in a city center in Europe for a while and loved it but the frequent grocery runs of only what I could carry got old. Just outside the city center now I have yard, home, and can be at a play in 15 minutes.
A beautiful part of the world to live is West Wittering. It's right on the coast. It's really family-friendly. My family live there and I love visiting. It's like something out of Miss Marple. Take a look..
Perhaps a townhouse on the outskirts of London. With a garden. Feels more like a home. Definitely cheaper. Remember, you live inside your home not in the amenities or the streets and pubs. Home can be anywhere that makes you happy. Be open minded.
Here in Australia they tend to be called ‘shopping centres’ though ‘mall’ is often also used. The pronunciation varies. Some say mall to rhyme with ‘maul’, others say mall to rhyme with ‘bell’. I love London though I could not afford to live there. I am not poor but if I wanted to live in London I would be lucky to afford a micro-studio! Thank you for the video!
I’m convinced that it’s much easier to move into LONDON than it is to move out again,,,,,, the sense of isolation will become more apparent, and your both young and at your BUT ENJOY THE HUNT FOR YOUR NEXT PROJECT.
We have done it the other way round and moved not from central London but the outskirts to Norfolk - it’s taken me a while to settle, pros and cons for sure. I think the ideal would be since of community and feeling safer (Norfolk) more vibrant and friends, family (London) near to the beach and wildlife (Norfolk) walking distance to some shops and restaurants etc (London) it so hard we can’t have it all unfortunately
Hi guys! It’s me again and I made it to the third of my comment. Well, I wanna visit London someday. But Covid happened. So sad Take care and look forward to next video of yours.
What about the areas of London with a village feel. Greenwich. Barnes. Richmond Tec Tec. Village gives with accessibility? Love you both. Great content xxxx
If you're thinking about having a family later on, then you will need outdoor space. This will narrow your search down quite a bit. I grew up in London in the 60's & left in the 70's. We lived in flats back then & if we wanted green space we would go to Kensington Gardens or Hyde Park. Would still love to live in London but would find it claustrophobic now, not to mention the high cost of properties. Brighton is another place I would love to live in. Happy hunting for your new home.
Maul…..by a dog 😂 Mall for shopping. Malls are still around here in the US but don’t really know how much people shop at them. I live about 2 hours from one that I would like to shop at but very seldom ever get to go there. ❤️ Great vlog guys!

It is a nice format to hear more from the two of you as to your thoughts & views of the city & life in Britain.

Which village is it? Ofsted report got me so curious. That’s one of the major criteria I have.
@@thesdstyle I say village - it’s actually a town - Harpenden. Though feels very villagey to me after being in a city centre 😂
@ the shift in the mindset it more difficult for me,Harpenden is a good town though.

Great talk! It is a MALL. Cannot wait how your plans progress and/or change. Continued success and many thanks!
Thanks so much! Xx
For a more village feel check out Beckenham, only 15 mins to get into central London.
Thanks!! X
Lovely video. Whats on the picture behind you? Near Mikeys shoulder!!! ??? X
I feel like Loudon is a great fit for you guys. Just feel more happier.

I vote for Buckingham Palace…it’s recently renovated and it is central London and next to Green Park
@@tedkite4684 sounds perfect. Going to make a cheeky offer x

Shoreditch or East London, would be something worth considering. As a couple of your Pros fit the bill.
Love you boys keep doing what your doing 🎉

Very thoughtful way to approach an upcoming change in your life. You & Mikey look refreshed and relaxed but where was Ziggy and Stormi? 🦮🐕
Haha, they didn’t have much to add to the conversation lol! X

Malls were popular for the past couple decades but we are now seeing them close & demolished. Most Americans today prefer to buy online.
Don‘t have to wait for the video to end to give it a thumbs up xx
Yay xx

Yes we have been looking around at lots of options! Thanks so much for the tips xxx
Also Balham/Clapham....! Super near the centre but bus, tube and train, well linked

I would love to get your views on the economy in Britain. Much of what we see online reflects many retail business going dark in many parts of London.
It definitely seems to have changed a lot!! X
Speaking of hot, will the new home have A/C?
I love you so much❤️❤️
♥️♥️♥️
Shopping mall. Maul means when a dog mauls something.
Hellooooooo 🎉
Hello! X
it's a shopping mall not maul...lol
In the US maybe, not the UK
Mall, rather than Maul.
Americans call it a Mall not maul
