Louise! You're back!!!! So nice to see your wonderful videos back. Missed you! 😄 Excellent information, thank you for sharing 😊
Thanks for watching.
Hi Louise! My goodness this video has helped me so much! I believe I've just gotten a retail sale from my hairdresser today! I don't think I've seen this particular video of yours. Your valued information has given me what I need to do when I take her order to her this coming Tuesday. Thank you for your video and your straight forward presentation!! I'm a member of Shout Out to Melt and Pour!
Hi Jewel, thanks for watching I'm glad I could help, I wish you the best in your journey, good luck!
Love your business acumen and strategies. Very informative!!!
Thank you! I thought this video was super helpful. I'm just re-starting my soaping business, I used to sell on Etsy but now I'm using Shopify and I'm going to try and get into some local shops!
The brown buterflies? What they contain, please?
Thank you so much for this video. It's awesome! unfortunately for myself I live in the city so it's really really really really hard for me. Your videos and group are wonderful.
Thank you for watching.
Hello Louise..... One quick question..... Does melt and pour soaps foam well ....cuz my customers kind of complainin of less foaming compared to commercially available soaps..... How do sell it this case?? Plz help
Love this video! So much great advice. And Shout Out To Melt & Pour is a fantastic group!
Thank you for your kind words, I love our group too!
Hey Louise! Well, SHOUT OUT TO ME!! lol, thank you so much for the video! As always, you make it look so easy. I haven't tried yet, but I will get everything ready before I do! Great information. Thanks again!
I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching Tracey!
Hi Tracey, thanks for watching and making a comment of what you like to see. I hope this video takes you places you have never been with soap making.
Can you talk about pricing? I find it a bit difficult to price soaps at a good price where you and the store both make enough money. Especially starting out when you are still buying in small quantity vs buying in bulk. As you know starting can be pricey when your buying all the product you need; soap base, oils, & other ingrediants etc.
Thanks for all your videos!
What does each full size soap cost at this store? And what percentage does the store get? Please share. I don't want to undervalue my soaps, but also don't want to overprice. Thank you so much!
I will make a video on it soon. Thanks for watching.
Hi! Could you do a video on the different types of additives (clays, herbs, grains, exfoliates, oils, honey vs. honey powder, milk powders etc.) and their usage ratio. I think many ppl are confused about what can be added to MP and how much should be added. I have a MP book and the author adds fresh banana to her soap, which I thought fresh fruit will make it go rancid. Thank you and great job on the new wholesale account. Good luck!
Great idea, I will make a video this week. Thanks for watching.
great info. I'm not asking your price but do you calculate the customer price different for the retail customers than when you sell directly? do you understand my question?
Retail & wholesale are very different. Selling one or two soaps is much higher than selling 100 or 200 at a time...you need to work out your cost for retail first then work on wholesale...it can be 1/2 of retail depending on design and ingredients it can be higher...Thanks for watching.
Thank you Louise at the moment I have a loft of soaps all cured ready to go .I have tried and tested everything and got great feedback on all I gifted to friends. Now I feel it's time to start selling. I'm extremely nervous. And a bit overwhelmed. So my plan for this year is ,insurance license, tent tables signs .buying my supplies in bulk .and to fund this as I'm on a shoestring budget. I have a couple of local community centre small Christmas craft show this weekend and next .Have you any tips for me please. And thank you 🙏☘💚
On a good note theres not many soap makers in Ireland. Theres a lush soap a few hours drive away .and one lady at the far end if town .so there's a good chance on it for me .I'm also bless my friend owns a bakery so she had no problem doing all my labels as she has it all set up alright a great label printer .I dont normally get nervous I'm.a real go for it person. But I'm.a bot nervous first craft fair sat .
How is it going? Good ideas you have there.
good day maam..I am also trying to make melt and pour soaps.. the thing is when it hardens totally it gets this white film around it.. like it has molds,, like white molds.. please help me.. I am anton from the Philippines..
Can I ask, what makes it a Gardner's soap, or some times I hear kitchen soaps? is it for obvious reasons? used after Gardening, or strictly for the kitchen? Can you video, making the lady bug and butterfly with nuts ? thanks. P.S. if it was CP can it still be considered Garners/ kitchen soaps?
It;s the additives in your base. I will do a video for you on gardening soap and kitchen soap and explain the different additives used to get the results your looking for. Yes, cp or hp can be made into gardeners/kitchen soap it's all about additives in the base. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for responding, looking forward to the video.
sandraand6690 I actually use kelp powder and yellow silt clay in my gardener soap😊but am working on cutting the fishy scent LOL. works in my opinion as a degreaser and a moisturizer
that's so great, I'm hoping to have a display with some of my grandpas loyal 30+years honey customers 😊.fingers crossed
What about a weekend flea market environment that occurs year round? I'm thinking of getting a month to month booth. It gets high traffic. What do you think?
I would absolutely try it and see how it does. Thanks for watching.
This is a great question!! Do you need a business license to do a booth on a month to month basis??
Love that!!
Did you?
Also what do you mean by selling it to her wholesale. How does that create a profit for you?
Wholesale is large quantities of products sold to retail customers rather than selling to individual people, it's usually sold at a much smaller profit but volume is higher. I hope that helps, you can also google wholesale customers. Thanks for wathcing.
what kind of stores did you go to to get wholesale orders? Like did you go to spas, or salons? Mom & pop stores or??? I do cp, hp, and liquid soap and I would love to have my soaps in stores. But I don't know where to start. Also do I just go in with a few bars of soaps to giveaway, give my business card then leave? I make wonderful soap, and I put a lot of great ingredients in my soaps, but I'm just not selling them. I have over 2000 subscribers on here and they tell me they love my videos but I''m not going to be able to keep up with them if I can't buy my ingredients. The people I have sold to, and given things away they say my soaps are awesome, but I'm just not getting sales. I really love soaping, it keeps me sane lol but I don't want to stop making my soaps and lotions, I need to get them out there some how. Any advice would be great, thanks hun. OH and BTW I love ur videos :)
Like I said I was simply going to the gardening store for personal use...you have to find what kind of stores you want to sell to. I wouldn't just go out and give away soap until I really looked at the location, who runs the store and who is behind the counter, these are your sales reps you need to get intouch with the buyer of the store not the help....keep that in mind, when and if you hand out your soap. Are your labels done, packaging, pricing you should have everything together before heading out the door, they will ask questions and you have to be prepared. Do they want private labeling or your label...do some research before you hand out soap. Thanks for watching.
Hi Louise, Is it a good idea to buy bar codes? Any advice on the subject?
If your wholesale customer requires you to use them then yes. I put all retail pricing on my bars for my customers, it's easier & cheaper. Bar codes can be expensive each one is different and you can't use just one code for all of your soap. Do some research on it. Good Luck, thanks for watching.
Awesome Information!
Thank you for watching.
Great informative vodeo, so kind of you to share with everyone!! Hugs :-)
Thanks Mel, still waiting for a video on you!!!!! LOL Hugs
